laboratorio de Creatividad de

Mijas Comunicación -MC-, ha

contado con la sinergia de los

profesionales del Ayuntamiento

4 La nueva línea de trabajo de MC incluye la

presentación de todo tipo de servicios relacionados

con la comunicación, promoción y difusión, tanto

turística, como cultural, económica y empresarial

de Mijas. Para ello, las nuevas tecnologías serán

cruciales, pues permitirán una proyección del

municipio más allá de sus fronteras. Y es que MC

quiere convertirse en la empresa de marketing de

toda la ciudad, una entidad que de servicio a los

vecinos y también de los turistas.

4 The new line of work of MC includes

the provision of all kinds of services related to

communication, promotion and diffusion which

does much for tourism in respect of culture,

economy and businesses of Mijas. For it, new

technologies will be crucial, since they allow a

projection of the municipality beyond its’ borders.

residents but tourists too.

mensual, está dividida en varias

secciones. Por un lado, se incluyen

propuestas turísticas, culturales, de

ocio y de negocio; también se detallan

aspectos que conforman la identidad

de Mijas con propuestas para recorrer

calles, visitar lugares, conocer la visión

de ciertos personajes o profundizar

en las costumbres y hábitos de los

mijeños. Por último, se avanzan eventos

destacados que tendrán lugar en la

localidad.

La revista, además, incluye mapas

de la ciudad, listados con datos de

utilidad sobre rutas turísticas y otras

actividades.

Editada en inglés y español, Vive

Mijas le descubrirá la esencia de un

municipio único y singular, abierto,

alegre, cosmopolita, dinámico y

moderno.

Si no se la quiere perder, búsquela en

los espacios municipales de Mijas y en

hoteles, restaurantes y chiringuitos de

toda la Costa del Sol.

4The monthly magazine Vive Mijas, is

divided into various sections. On the one

hand tourist and cultural proposals are

included, for free time and for business

and on the other hand there are details

about the aspects that shape Mijas

including proposals that cover streets,

places to visit and indepth studies

on the vision of cetain personages as

well as interesting information on the

customs and habits of the mijeños.

And finally, advance details of out-

standing events that will take place in

the municipality.

The magazine also includes maps of

the city, listed with information on tourist

routes and many other activities.

recorrer el litoral mijeño degustando las excelencias más típicas de nuestra

costa. Además, podrás disfrutar de un relajante masaje, pasear por nuestras

playas, descansar en las hamacas o practicar deporte. La Ruta del Pescaíto

es una iniciativa de la concejalía de Turismo del Ayuntamiento de Mijas.

Participan 16 establecimientos y la idea es invitar a los vecinos a disfrutar

de un verano diferente. Ofrecer turismo de calidad, dar a conocer nuestras

playas y, por supuesto, potenciar nuestra típica gastronomía malagueña. En

la Ruta del Pescaíto podrás degustar platos tradicionales de la zona, sardinas

en espeto, paella, fritura malagueña, ensaladas... a precios módicos, en un

entorno envidiable y durante todo el verano. Sólo tienes que conseguir un

‘tapaporte’, rodearte de buena compañía y dejarte llevar. Las playas de Mijas

ofrecen mucho más de lo que se ve a simple vista.¡Tienes que descubrirlas!

Willkommen! Velkommen! You can’t miss this opportunity of enjoying the

best of our typical gastronomy along the Mijas coastline. You will also be

able to enjoy a relaxing massage, take a walk along the beach, take a break

on a sunbed or practise a sport. The Ruta del Pescaíto is an initiative of

the Tourist Department of the Mijas Town Council. 16 establishments are

participating and the idea is to invite residents and visitors to enjoy summer

in a different way, offering a top quality tourist offer, show our beaches and,

of course, promote our typical malagueñan gastronomy. On the Ruta del

Pescaíto you will be able to enjoy traditional recipes from this area, sardines

in ‘espeto’, paella, malaga fried fish, salads...with very good prices in a

wonderful environment and throughout the whole summer. Just get your

‘tapaporte’, some good company and let yourself go. Beaches in Mijas offer

a lot more than what you can see at first sight. Discover it all!

Consigue tu ‘tapaporte’ y podrás degustar todo lo que

ofrecen los chiringuitos del litoral mijeño. Los próximos

meses de julio y agosto Mijas ofrecerá a los vecinos

del municipio una original iniciativa que pretende

promocionar nuestras playas y ampliar la oferta turística

durante el verano: la ‘Ruta del Pescaíto’. Esta nueva

propuesta se enmarca en el programa ‘Vive Mijas en

sus Playas’. Los que quieran participar tendrán que

recoger su ‘tapaporte’ en dependencias municipales,

hoteles, bares, los propios chiringuitos o la Oficina de

Turismo de Mijas. Cada chiringuito ofrecerá una media

ración del día a tres euros y aquellos que consigan

recorrer los 15 chiringuitos que participan en la ‘Ruta

del Pescaíto’ entrarán en un sorteo de regalos, como

noches en hoteles o sesiones de SPA. El ‘tapaporte’

también incluye descuentos para pasear en motos

acuáticas. Hazte con un ‘tapaporte’ y recorre nuestras

playas degustando uno de nuestros productos más

típico malagueño: el pescaíto.

taste everything that the chiringuitos have to offer.

Next July and August, Mijas will offer neighbours of

the municipality an original initiative that promotes

our beaches and extends the tourist offer during

discounts for aquatic bikes. Use the ‘tapaporte’ and

discover our beaches and enjoy some of the most

typical malagueño produce: The Pescaito.

The activity of the month

“¡Damas y caballeros! Es-puto abre sus fauces para digerirnos en el cabaret más petardo, corrosivo y burlón del mundo...”. Así definen su propia obra los integrantes de El Espejo Negro, una compañía que lleva desde 1989 apostando por las marionetas para adultos.

The Popular University students of guitar have prepared a demonstration to show the public what they have learnt during their term. On Friday 26th, the pupils of Diego Morilla will offer in the Exhibition Hall of the Cultural House of Las Lagunas a concert featuring some of the major music of Flamenco such as bulerias and soleas. Cachivache Theatre, from Palencia, is one of the most active children’s theatre groups in Spain. They have been in business since 1998 making both young and old laugh. They started as a group of friends collaborating in theatre plays. Tomorrow, Saturday 27th June, they will offer their latest show ‘Tataracine’ on stage at the Theatre in Las Lagunas. The show aims to help children enjoy the spirit of the theatre.

Desde Palencia llega uno de los grupos de teatro infantil más activo del panorama nacional. Llevan haciendo reir a pequeños y mayores desde el año 1996, cuando la compañía surgió casi como una colaboración entre amigos.

Mañana, sábado 27, en el Teatro Las Lagunas escenifi-carán su último espectáculo, ‘Tataracine’, una obra enfocada a acercar a los más jóvenes el espíritu del cine, considerándolo no sólo un entretenimiento sino también un vehículo para expre-sar sentimientos.

Dance Workshops of the Open University in Mijas are a good example of the art that we have here in the municipality of Mijas. Their members participate in many different activities and events throughout the year, but their big day is the traditional Dance Festival. Students from Mijas Pueblo and La Cala will be offering their show on Friday 3rd July at the Municipal Auditorium at 9pm. Same time, same place on the 10th of July for students in Las Lagunas and students from the ballroom dancing workshop of the Open University in Mijas Pueblo. A great show you can’t miss!

Ada Cabero nos enseña su búsqueda, nunca satisfecha, de la estética en una temática auténtica. Lo más significativo de su trabajo es la libertad y entrega que utiliza para lograr la máxima expresividad en cada cuadro. El retrato está presente con fuerza en su obra y el folclore mexicano ha sido trabajado con la pincelada exacta de abstracción que imprime la armonía. Intentar definir la presente obra en palabras es quizás la mejor forma de probar que hay lugares a donde sólo la pintura puede llegar.

Ada Cabero teaches us to search, never satisfied, of the aesthectics in an authentic subject matter. The most significant part of his work is the freedom and delivery that gives the maximum expressivity in each painting. The portrait is strongly present in his work and the Mexican folklore can be seen in each exacting stroke of abstraction that imprints the harmony. The best way to try and define the present work would be to say that the painting comes from within.


La Orquesta Sinfónica Estatal de Chisinau -República de Moldavia- llega a Mijas el 7 de julio. La formación ofrecerá un concierto con clásicos como Brahms o Barber, e interpretará también una selección de las bandas sonoras más conocidas del cine, como Star Wars o Indiana Jones. Si quieres asistir, recoge tu invitación en la Casa Museo, la Casa de la Cultura de Las Lagunas o el Centro Cultural y Deportivo de La Cala.

La fusión y el eclecticismo vuelven a marcar este verano el ciclo Damos el Cante. Este año, la programación se inicia con una actuación estelar. El grupo Caradefuego, sumergido en la promoción de su segundo disco, ofrecerá un dúo con la brasileña Adriana Deffenti bajo el sugerente título de ‘Iberian Noites’. Ellos darán paso a La Camaradería, una formación con mucho de influencias cubanas. El cante más arraigado a Andalucía estará representado por Cristina Maestre y Laura Román. Ismael Tamayo apostará por el rock-fusion y el pop más fresco llegará de la mano de Isaire.

Fusion and eclectism return this summer to mark the ‘Damos del Cante’ cycle. This year, the programme starts with a star performance. The group Caradefuego, immersed in the promotion of their second disc, will offer a duo with the Brazilian Adriana Deffenti under the title ‘Iberian Noites’. They will give to the camerade a formation with many cuban influences. The most deep-rooted singing of Andalucia will be represented by Cristina Maestre and Laura Román. Ismael Tamayo will head rock-fusion and the latest fresh pop will be offered by Isaire.

The State Orchestra of Chisinau -Republic of Moldavia- come to Mijas on the 7th of July. The formation are offering a concert with classics from Brahms to Barber, and they will be interpreting a selection of some of the most popular soundtracks of the cinema, such as Star Wars and Indiana Jones. ¿Cine de verano? ¿Cuándo? ¿Dónde? ¿Qué pelí-culas se proyectarán? Los amantes del séptimo arte están de enhorabuena un verano más. Mi-jas presenta su programa ‘Cine de verano’: en Mijas Pueblo, La Cala y Las Lagunas.

Este verano Will Smith, Pierce Brosnan o Javier Cámara se dejarán ‘ver’ por Mijas. Vuelve un año más el ‘Cine de Verano’. En el parque María Zambrano de Las Lagunas, en la Playa de La Cala y en el Auditorio Municipal de Mijas Pueblo se proyectarán ¡al aire libre! largometrajes de éxito de las carteleras internacionales. ‘Hancock’, ‘Wall-E’, o ‘¡¡Mamma Mía!!’ son algunos de los títulos más sonados.

Acción, comedia, animación infantil, musical, cine español... Todo tiene cabida en esta propuesta cinéfila. Todas las proyecciones comenzarán a las diez de la noche. ‘Cine de Verano’, que se desarrollará en julio y agosto, se presenta como un plan ideal para toda la familia. Buen cine, clima agradable y un entorno ideal (sin olvidarnos de las palomitas) son los ingredientes básicos de esta atractiva propuesta de la Concejalía de Juventud para pasar las noches de verano en Mijas. ¿Quién dijo que el cine de verano ya pasó a la historia?

There will be outdoor screenings at the Maria Zambrano Park in Las Lagunas, La Cala beach and the municipal auditorium of Mijas. Successful full length International films are on the agenda including: ‘Hancock’, ‘Wall-E’, and ‘Mamma Mia’!! Just some of the most famous films at the cinema.

Action, comedy, children’s animation, musicals and Spanish movies... all categories are included in the initiative. ‘Summer Cinema’ will be shown during July and August and all films start at 10pm. It’s an ideal activity for all the family with good films, pleasant climate and agreeable surroundings (not forgetting the popcorn of course). These are just some of the basic ingredients of this wonderful project offered by the Youth Department of the Council to ensure pleasant summer evenings in Mijas. Faemino y Cansado, Pepe Viyuela, Yllana..., lo suyo, sin duda, es puro teatro y así piensan demostrarlo sobre las tablas del Auditorio Municipal. Será entre el 16 y el 20 de julio, días en los que se celebrará la XXIII edición del Festival de Teatro Villa de Mijas.

Además de estas grandes compañías, volverán a hacer las delicias del público los actores de Teatro Mijas y del Taller de Teatro de la UP, que este año abrirán el festival.

Faemino and Cansado, Pepe Viyuela, Yllana..., undoubtedly, their style is pure theatre. This will be demonstrations on the stage of the Municipal Auditorium between the 16th and the 20th of July, days in which the town of Mijas will celebrate the XXIII edition of the Theatre Festival. And with good reason, one would wonder why, as they have appeared on six occassions, the best answer is to wait until you have seen the latest montage, ‘Brokers’, a performance that you can lose yourself in. After the success of ‘666’ and ‘Star Ship’, ‘Brokers’ paints the portrait with the habitual language of Yllana from the savage world of high finance.

This year, The Mijas University Poplular Theatre Workshop will, for the first time in its’ history, open the Festival. On the 16th of July, from 11pm, they will lead the stage with ‘La Casa de la Salud’, a rich comedy of entanglements that will engage the audience. The play focuses on the situation of Manolo, a young banker who’s life becomes complicated after his wife, Salud, leaves him.

Este año, el Taller de Teatro de la Universidad Popular de Mijas se encarga, por primera vez en su historia, de abrir el festival. El 16 de julio, a partir de las 23 horas, llevará a escena ‘La Casa de la Salud’, una comedia de enredos que nos hará pasar un rato muy agradable. La obra escenifica la situación de Manolo, un joven banquero al que se le complica la vida tras el parto de su mujer, Salud.

Yllana llega de nuevo a Mijas. Alguien con razón se preguntará por qué, pues han venido en seis ocasiones, pero la respuesta es mejor darla después de ver este último montaje, ‘Brokers’, una escenificación que no deberías perderte. Tras la estela de ‘666’ y ‘Star Trip’, ‘Brokers’ retrata con el habitual lenguaje de Yllana el salvaje mundo de las altas finanzas. Un universo de lujo y dinero para mostrarnos su loca visión de la vida.

Faemino and Cansado return to the stage and are faithful to themselves. Ignoring singing mermaids that could imply the incorporation of a big ballet or the inclusion of a band. These two geniuses of the comic stage entertain us with scenes of trau-ma, life’s difficulties and many arguements as they take things to their absolute limit. Audiences will be assured of a good time with this humorous pair.

Faemino y Cansado vuelven a los escenarios y lo hacen fieles a sí mismos. Desoyendo cantos de sirena que puedan implicar la incorporación de un gran ballet o la inclusión de una orquesta, estos dos genios del humor escenifican ‘Son dos’, una obra que es toda una declaración de intenciones. En ella encontraremos una trama que incorpora argumentos como las dificultadades de vivir con ansiedad o la transgresión de los límites.

PEPE VIYUELA: ENCERRONA

El domingo 19 es el turno de Pepe Viyuela, que llega al Audi-torio de Mijas Pueblo con ‘En-cerrona’, una reflexión sobre lo cotidiano desde la perspectiva del payaso. El personaje vive la experiencia de haberse que-dado atrapado en el escenario y cuando entra no sabe dónde meterse. En su largo historial como actor de teatro, Pepe Viyuela ha participado en obras como ‘La cortesía de España’, ‘Fausto’ o ‘Retablo de la ava-ricia’.

It’s Pepe Viyuela’s turn to entertain this Sunday the 19th at the Mijas Auditorium. Pepe reflects on daily trials and tribulations from the persective of a clown. The personage lives through the experience of having been trapped on the stage with no way to get out. During his many years as a professional theatre actor, Pepe Viyuela has participated in such plays as ‘La Cortesia de España’, ‘Fausto’ and ‘Retablo de la Avaricia’.

Simbiosis, asociación, mezcla, fusión, unión o sincretismo son los pilares fundamentales en los que se asienta la obra de Juan Antonio Espejo Cejas, un artista que expone por segunda vez en el municipio de Mijas.

El espacio de este trabajo esta constituido por todos los materiales que pueden permitir obras efímeras, tanto por su duración como por su consistencia, obteniendo un conocimiento del mundo gracias a una identidad entre pensamiento y acción. En este caso lo importante no es el resultado sino el proceso adecuado para propiciarla.

Symbiosis, association, mix, fusion, union and syncretism are the fundamental pillars of the works of Antonio Espejo Cejas. Antonio is exhibiting for the second time in the Mijas Municipality.

The area of this work is constituted by all the materials that enhance ephemeral works. The duration and consistency are obtained with knowing the world thanks to an identity between thought and action. In this case the importance is not the result but the process by which it is achieved.

Se elegirá al deportista más completo y, por supuesto, la Tercera Edad también podrá participar. En la Feria de Las Lagunas todos juegan.

Los amantes de la vida sana tienen por delante un mes de julio cargado de citas con la naturaleza. La Oficina de Turismo de Mijas continúa con las rutas de senderismo. Todas las salidas serán a las siete y media de la tarde. Habrá visitas al Puerto Colorao, Puerto de Málaga o Ruta del Esparto. Caminar es salud.

Lovers of the healthy outdoor life have have a July packed with appointments with nature. The Mijas Tourism Office are conitnuing with their free guided walks. All walks start at seven in the evening. There will be visits to Puerto Colorao, Puerto de Malaga and the Esparto Route. Walking is healthy!

In Las lagunas the aroma of the Fair is in the air. The neighbours of this nucleus will be enjoying the Fair between the 1st and the 5th of July. There will be special activities for children of all ages, adults will experience the Day Fair for the second consecutive year. Between the programmed performances there is Currito and Los Escombros, Ana Serrano and Felipe Conde. There will also be the celebration of the fishing competition and fox hunting.

En Las Lagunas ya huele a fe-ria. Los vecinos de este núcleo vivirán su fiesta entre el 1 y el 5 de julio. Habrá actividades especiales para los más peque-ños, mientras que los mayores disfrutarán por segundo año consecutivo de la Feria de Día. Entre las actuaciones progra-madas, están Currito y Los Es-combros, Ana Serrano o Felipe Conde. También se celebrará el concurso de pesca y el de la caza del zorro.

Comienza el verano y llega el momento de pensar en

qué van a invertir el tiempo libre los más pequeños

de la casa. Escuelas de verano, clases deportivas y

talleres culturales son algunas de las opciones que

podemos encontrar en Mijas pero, sin duda, existe

una donde podrán vivir una gran aventura en pleno

contacto con la naturaleza. Se trata de los programas

de verano del Albergue Municipal de Entrerríos.

Durante los meses de junio, julio, agosto y

septiembre, el Albergue Municipal dispone de siete

turnos; cada uno de ellos comprende un margen de

edad específico para atender mejor a los escolares.

Las instalaciones cuentan con dormitorios,

enfermería, pistas deportivas, piscina, huerto,

establo y distintos talleres. El equipo de cocina se

encarga de preparar diariamente una dieta sana a

los pequeños aventureros que deberán disponer

de mucha energía para participar en todas las

actividades que les han preparado sus monitores.

Desde temprano, comienzan con talleres

artesanales, actividades al aire libre, deportivas,

teatro y juegos, pero sin olvidar las tareas propias

de una granja. Los jóvenes deberán cuidar a los

animales y el huerto ecológico diariamente. El

Albergue de Entrerríos cuenta además con una

variedad representativa de animales de granja,

entre ellos, una vaca, un burro, un cerdo, gallinas,

gallos, pavos, pavos reales, conejos, cabras, ovejas,

etc. Gracias a su cuidado, aprenderán a ser más

responsables y conocerán de dónde vienen los

alimentos. En el huerto, descubrirán una gran

variedad de especies de verduras y hortalizas que

les ayudarán a tener una dieta más equilibrada.

Entre las actividades deportivas, están la

natación, rocódromo, baloncesto, fútbol, tenis de

mesa, mountain bike y tiro con arco, entre otras.

Sin olvidar los talleres más originales como los de

manualidades, astronomía, teatro y los juegos.

Pero lo que todo aventurero busca en esta

experiencia es el contacto con la naturaleza. El

programa del Albergue Municipal contempla

actividades al aire libre como acampadas, itinerarios,

orientación, tirolina, etc. Sin duda, unas vacaciones

que nunca olvidarán.

The summer programmes of the Municipal

Hostel of Entrerrios provide this opportunity. During

June, July, August and September, the Municipal

Hostel has seven shifts, each of them aimed at a

specific age group to attend to the students. The

facilities are provided with bedrooms, infirmary,

a variation of workshops. The kitchen team is in

charge of preparing a healthy diet on a daily basis

for the young adventurers who will expand a lot of

energy in order to take part in all the activities the

monitors have prepared for them.

From early in the morning they begin with

handicraft workshops, outdoor activities, sports,

theatre and games. But without forgetting the

normal tasks on a farm. The young adventurers

have to take care of the farm animals and the

ecological orchard every day.

The Hostel of Entrerrios has a variety of animals

representative of a working farm, including a cow,

donkey, pig, chickens, roosters, turkeys, peacocks,

rabbits, goats, sheep, etc. By taking care of these

animals the children learn to be more responsible

and know where the food comes from. In the

orchard they discover a wide variety of different

types of vegetables and horticulture that helps

them to have a more balanced diet.

As well as sporting activities, there is swimming,

sport climbing, basketball, soccer, table tennis,

mountain bike and archery. Without forgetting the

most original workshops including handicrafts,

astronomy, theatre and games.

All adventurers look for some sort of contact with

nature and with this in mind, the Municipal Hostel

programme offers outdoor activities like camping,

itineraries, low ropes, orientation, etc. Undoubtedly

this type of vacation will be a memorable one.

Mijas es un municipio vivo, lleno de actividades que hacer y lugares que visitar. La concejalía de Parques y Jardines es consciente de ello y ha querido dar un impulso a las zonas verdes del municipio para que la ciudadanía conciba estos lugares como un punto de encuentro habitual en los que disfrutar al aire libre con los amigos e hijos. Y es que en esta localidad hay hasta 15 jardines diferentes distribuidos por los tres núcleos. Así, algunos de los eventos previstos para el mes de julio y agosto tendrán como escenario, precisamente, los parques Mª Zambrano y Andalucía.

Mijas is a vibrant municipality, full of activities to do and places to visit. The councillorship of Parks and Gardens is conscious of this and wanted to promote the green spaces of the municipality so that its citizens think of these places as a point to meet regularly to enjoy the outdoors with friends and children. There are almost 15 different gardens within the three nuclei and some of the foreseen events for July and August will be staged in the parks of Ma Zambrano and Andalucia.

El ciclo de cine al aire libre del departamento de Juventud ha programado dos proyecciones en el núcleo lagunero. La primera cita será el domingo 19 de julio en el parque Mª Zambrano. La proyección arrancará a las 22 horas y estará dedicada a los pequeños, pero también a aquellos a los que les gusta disfrutar, ¿por qué no? con las películas de dibujos animados. Kung-Fu Panda encabezará la cartelera de esta jornada. Y ya el domingo 16 de agosto, el parque Andalucía también se convertirá por un día en un cine de verano, en esta ocasión para disfrutar de las aventuras de Wall-E. ¿Vas a perdértelo?

The outdoor movie series of the Youth Department have programmed two screenings in the nucleus of Las Lagunas. The first appointment is Sunday 19th of July in the Ma Zambrano park. The screening starts at 10pm and is dedicated to youngsters and also, those who enjoy, and why not? animated cartoon films. Kung-Fu Panda will head the billing of the day. El 10 de julio el parque Mª Zambrano se llenará de ritmos latinos porque para esta jornada hay preparada una fiesta de salsa, en la que los amantes de este baile disfrutarán de una tarde inolvidable. La concejalía de Parques y Jardines ha programado para este día

diversas actuaciones y exhibiciones. Además, para la ocasión también se contará con la presencia de un animador. Ésta es una fiesta apta para todos los públicos, el único requisito: estar dispuesto a pasarlo bien.
