Letter to Parents

PRE-Field Trip: Make a PowerPoint   –   Share your Google Slide with me

**Student must have an ownership to the field trip and have an idea what they are going to see and experience.  They also need to know what is expected of them. This is the reason for this PowerPoint.  Make a PowerPoint on Google Slides of what they will see before they go. Please share the slides with the instructor. The presentation must contain the following information.

Include 1 slide of expectations/procedures/rules – How do you want your students to act.

Please include 5 images of each “stop” or attraction the students will see. (You can have more than 5 images) Include a brief description of each picture.

Post Field Trip: What will the student do with the information that they learned on the field trip?  Come up with a creative SUMMATIVE activity/art project that students will do after they return from the trip.  Explain in detail.  You must create this project, photograph it, and upload/paste/ the image below or attach an image of the project.

Program provides grants to underwrite the cost of field trips and admission fees for K-12 students to attend professional arts events such as live music, dance or theatre performances, and cultural exhibits at museums or other venues. There must be an arts focus to the field trip.

Priority will be given to schools and communities that lack access to arts or cultural programs due to geography, economic conditions, ethnic background or disability. Funds are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until all available funds are awarded.

Eligibility: Nebraska-accredited public or private schools or nonprofit organizations that serve pre-K-12 students.

Grant Amounts:

Schools or organizations serving FEWER than 300 students may submit ONE application per school year (maximum request $500)

Schools or organizations serving 300 students or MORE may submit ONE application per school year (maximum request $1000) or TWO applications (maximum request $500 each)

Deadline: At least four weeks prior to the event date.

Field   Trip   ChecklistThe   Week   Before   (minimum) Submit need for subs/coverage to school office. Submit instructional plan for students not attending the school trip. Submit names and cell phone numbers of all faculty and chaperones attending the

school trip. Distribute list of students who will be attending the school trip to all faculty (including

attendance office) and include the times you are leaving/returning. Notify Health Office of students participating and review medication needs. Will a nurse

The   Morning   of   the   Field   Trip Review assigned chaperone groups with students Review rules for behavior with students Review that day’s itinerary with students Confirm that students have the cell phone numbers of their assigned chaperone and

the group leader. Introduce yourself (as the person in charge) to all adult chaperones attending the

school trip. Provide each of the chaperones with a Bus Roster with their students’ names

highlighted. Confirm that each chaperone knows their assigned bus number. Claim your MIDDLE row seat on the lead bus.
