    2.0 DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION FEATURES 2.1 GENERAL The Nicolas Correa FP-30 is a heavy duty, double column, bridge type milling machine. Its rigid design allows for heavy duty cutting while maintaining todays increasing accuracy requirements. The bed, table, and ram are made from stress relieved GG-30 cast iron. Columns and cross rail are made from stress relieved welded steel plates. 2.2 LONGITUDINAL AXIS The bed and base are made of well ribbed and dimensioned GG30 Cast iron. The bed houses two V shaped hardened and grounded rails which are the sliding tracks for the roller packs attached to the table. This roller bearing system is built by IKO (Japan) - or similar- and is designed to withstand high torsional forces for the X, Y, & Z axes. The table is provided with 11T-slots 22 mm size. The guide slot has an H8 finish quality.

    The axis is driven by a permanent torque 50 Nm AC servo motor, coupled to a toothed belt to a recirculating ballscrew running on a pre-loaded double nut. Ballscrew diameter is 82 mm, pitch 12 mm, hardness 60/62 Hrc. Ball hardness 60/64 Hrc. 2.3 CROSS AXIS This is formed by 2 columns supporting a cross rail. The cross rail is made from well dimensioned and duly stress relieved fabricated steel. The cross rail houses two flat hardened and ground steel ways. The opposing carriage has anti-friction material all designed to withstand heavy cutting forces. The axis is driven by a permanent torque 50 Nm AC servo motor, coupled to a toothed belt, to a recirculating ballscrew running on a pre-loaded double nut. Ballscrew diameter is 63 mm, pitch 10 mm, hardened 60/62 Hrc. Ball hardness 60/64 Hrc.

    2.4 VERTICAL AXIS The ram is built of GG-30 cast iron well ribbed and dimensioned to withstand vibration even under severe cutting conditions. This axis is meant to provide the highest rigidity of the machine. The slideway solution chosen is by means of hardened and ground steel inserts embedded in the casting sliding against anti-friction liners. The whole ram is hydraulically counterbalanced and houses the main spindle unit. The axis is driven by a permanent torque 50 Nm AC servo motor, coupled to a toothed belt to a recirculating ballscrew running on a pre-loaded double nut. Ballscrew diameter is 63 mm, pitch 10 mm. Adjustment is provided by tapered jibs lined with anti-friction material. 2.5 SPINDLE The spindle has an ISO 50 taper, running on high precision taper roller bearings, grease lubricated, driven by an infinitely variable speed motor with the following specifications:

    (30 Kw rated AC motor, variable speed and a 2 speed auto selectable gear box. Full power from 396 to 6000 RPM Constant torque, 725 Nm. 40-396 RPM. Spring loaded hydraulic draw bar with retention force of 3960 lbs. (1800 Kgs)

    ISO 50 taper as per DIN 69871, ISO/DIN 7388/1. Pull stud as per DIN-69872. 2.6 LUBRICATION There is a centralised timed lubrication system with metered units. The system will shut down in the event of an oil shortage, insufficient pressure, or leakage. The system will only restart after the failure is corrected. A push button is provided for manual lubrication on demand. 2.7 HYDRAULIC There is a hydraulic system for spindle speed range, high/low, and tool release.

    2.8 FEED BACK SYSTEM All three axes are controlled by Heidenhain linear scale feed backs. 2.9 MACHINE OPERATION The machine is furnished complete with all motors and drives and is ready for operation when hooked up to a 400/3/50 current supply . A different voltage supply will require an optional isolated transformer. 2.10 ELECTRICAL CABINET The electric cabinet contains all the machine servo drives control system, as well as PLC, transformers, timers and related electrical components. A Power-On hour meter is also provided. All elements located in the electric cabinet are to CEI standard and IP-65 protection including an AC unit. 2.11 CNC CONTROL SEIMENS 840D control system 2.12 PENDANT PANEL The machine is fully commanded from a swing around pendant panel housing all the operating controls.     3.0 OPTIONS 3.1 Model UAD Auto Indexing Milling Head Geared head with courvic coupling (Hirth) indexing of both swivels to guarantee the positioning and repeatability. Direct motor driven. This system provides a smoother and vibration free running usually encountered in a pulley / belt mount. This smooth running is guaranteed by quality spiral bevel gears with uneven number of teeth so that ALL the teeth mesh together with each other thus eliminating the vibrations under cut. These gears a tight fit on the shafts and bolted and safety pinned together in order to eliminate the shaft splines which is source of backlash and vibrations. The shaft run on side contact ball bearings. The main spindle is supported by 3-off 85 mm. dia bearing, 25 contact at front, and 2-off 80mm. dia and 15 contact bearing at the rear. The intermediate shafts run on dia 70mm. x 25 contact bearings. The B & C axes consist of a differential courvic coupling system to provide a 0,1 resolution. Both courvic couplings are hydraulically operated to secure a good and steady position. Rotating times. Rotation of swivel to +/- 90 position: 9s. Rotation of swivel to +/- 180 position: 12s. Combined rotation to +/- 45 position: 22s. The machine is equipped with a closed circuit recirculating water chiller. The spindle drive motor as well as the UAD head bearings are water cooled. All gears and bearings are lubricated by an aire-oil system. The system includes a scavenger system inside for the suction of the oil The head housings are of GGG-50 nodular casting, stress relieved and ultrasonic tested.     3.2 30-post Automatic Tool Changer. The stationary chain type tool magazine is mounted on the left side of the column, holding the tools in pockets in the horizontal position.

    The tool is carried from the magazine to the work spindle by means of a moving

    carriage which houses a double gripper arm mounted on a pivoting mechanism

    to allow the tool change either in vertical/horizontal position of the spindle, whichever the case.

    The tool selection and pick-up from the coded pocket bi-directional magazine is performed during the machining time via the shortest way. The selected tool is then held by one of the transfer arm grips and the carriage moves to the stand-by position. When the tool change is required, the ram/head will retract to the change position; the transfer arm will move in to pick up the utilised tool and in a 180 deg. swivel will remove the old tool and will load the fresh one, moving back to the magazine whilst the spindle will move back to the working point.

    5.- SPECIFIC TERMS 5.1. SCOPE OF DELIVERY The delivery period is approximately 5-6 months from receipt of your firm order and

    letter of credit, clarification of specifications and technical data. When customer modifies machine specifications delivery time might be altered.

    Therefore it is CORREA to confirm delivery terms. 5.2. PAYMENT TERMS

    5.2.1. The payment conditions, unless otherwise stated, are as follows: # 20 % Down payment with official order, by means of swift transfer 2 weeks after receipt of Seller's invoice, to the following bank:

    The validity of the letter of credit should be longer by 2 months than the time of delivery confirmed to facilitate negotiations and to avoid time consuming extension procedure in case of need.

    5.2.2. NICOLAS CORREA, S.A. reserves the right to claim for a down payment together with the order receipt.

    5.2.3. Delays in maturity dates of payments will be subject to invoices of interest according to current cost of the money in Spain.

    5.2.4. In case of customer requirement of partial delivery of equipment it should be subject to revision of prices and terms of delivery between parts.

    5.3. VALIDITY Validity of this offer is 90 days from date of issue, and thereafter subject to our

    confirmation in writing. 5.4. NOTICE CORREA reserves the right to charge additional cost in case of delays or
