SEPTEMBER 2015
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Classroom teachers and our resource team consider many variables when creating classes
each year. Some of these considerations are academic achievement, special needs,
leadership skills, social and emotional needs and a balance of boys and girls. Our support
staff also provides input about student needs in this complex process.
Throughout the year, teachers become increasingly aware of your child’s needs both
through daily interactions and discussions with you. However, if there is any additional
information that you wish us to consider (ie. Twins), please provide it using the format
below. Please return this form to the West Office before Friday, May 29, 2015.
This form will be shared with all teaching staff as we plan and organise each class to
ensure the best possible learning conditions for every student at Marlborough.
Please be aware that many of our classes will be combined grades and we will not be
able to accommodate requests for single grade classes or for specific teachers. If
you have any questions, please call me at 604-664-8758.
Yours truly,
Mrs. S. Parks
Principal

Sex talk. No sweat. A Workshop for Parents Not all parents are comfortable talking to their children about sex, but all parents can learn to be comfortable. During this open and informational session, parents will come to terms with sexual health, and understand how it fits into the lives of their children at this stage of life. Attendees will discover how to easily overcome embarrassment when talking about sexual health, learn words and concepts that are easy to use, and leave well equipped to clearly answer the questions children ask. The workshop is light hearted, but delivers straight and current facts on how parents and children can work together to promote good sexual decisions for a lifetime. Where: Marlborough School Band Room When: Wednesday, June 10, 6:30-8:00 Student sessions will be held the week of June 15th. More information to follow.
