Dear Kayak and Canoe friends,

The Bruges Kayak Club invites you to his 25th International Bruges Kayak and Canoe Rally which takes place on Sunday 20th March 2016. Program :

Beernem-Kijkuit (Kanaal Brugge-Gent) and the Canals of Bruges (23 km)Kayaking and canoeing is done on the canal Bruges-Gent. At the end of the kayak trip the Bruges Kayak Cub is offering a delicious bowl of vegetable soup. Distance : 13 km.The registration is taken in the Kijkuit from 9.00 o'clock and the Bruges Kayak Club organise transport for the drivers (between 9.00 and 11.00) to bring the cars to the parking area near the clubhouse. All cars must be out of the Kijkuit ! The trip departure is in between 10.30 and 11.00 o’clock.The cars must be set in the specific area of the bus & coach parking area. See Parking map.

Departure at the BKK at 9.00 up to the Kijkuit and back.

Canals of Bruges (10 km)For those who want to keep it simple and short, we advise the afternoon trip on the Canals of Bruges. From our clubhouse we have access to the Canals of Bruges via the lock of the Cou-pure. Departure is at 13.30 and the registration starts at 12.00. There is free kayaking till 16.30 and everybody has to return via the lock of the Coupure to the clubhouse of the Bruges Kay-ak Club. Should you be hungry : our classical sandwich/sausage will be served.

Safety

RegistrationRegistration is done in the clubhouse.

For safety reasons all kayakkers should wear adequate clothing and a life-jacket. On the Canals of Bruges you have to kayak on the right side and tourist boats have right of way. The Bruges Kayak Club denies all responsa-bility in case of accident.

Parking areaDue to strict parking regulations of the Bruges Police we advise to leave your car at the back of the bus & coach parking area, access through the left. Trailers can be loaded and unloaded near the slipway. Access to the slipway through the left gate. On sunday at 17.00 h the Bruges Kayak Club will distribute the paddle of the International Bruges Kayak and Canoe Rally to the club with the maximum entries.
