    Competition in the office is good for business, where the company will thrive better with creative personnel outdoing andcompeting with one another in coming up with the best solutions/idea/project for your company. Such environment producesfuture leaders as it is the only commodity a company may have in the changing fortune of times.

    This is the central idea of ADLS 2018. We want to infuse in the Malaysian workforce, the disruptive spirit in a manner where itwill push forth industries forward, and compete with one another. Where at the end of the day, the team or market willsurround that one disruptor and support them in exceling in their career or business as a whole.

    Taxi VS Uber Failing to hail a taxi on a freezing snowy evening triggered Travis Kalanick andGarrett Camp to come up with a simple idea of hailing a ride, any ride at a touchof a button on their smart phone. That inconvenient experience disrupted thesmooth ride of the world taxi industry was enjoying with the birth of UBER.

    What started as an app to hail a ride exploded into variety of ride services frompremium rides, women only rides, sending packages to food delivery. Whatstarted in a few metropolitan areas is changing the way we move in citiesaround the world. UBER went further than that. It gave men and women aflexible new way to earn money that help strengthen local economies, improveaccess to transportation, and make streets safer.

    Even UBER the disruptor of global taxi industry, became complacent as giants insome critical areas such as driver wellbeing management. This hindsightallowed them to be over taken by the next wave of disruptions courtesy byGRAB. UBER in Malaysia and Singapore is today bought over by the moreinnovative and market orientated GRAB.

    Blockbuster VS Netflix A delay in returning videos rented from a local BLOCKBUSTER outlet, afamous chain of video rental stores in the US, cost Reed Hastings USD40 as penalty. Reed Hastings and his best friend, Marc Randolph sattogether in early 2000 and came up with NETFLIX, a DVD-by-mailbusiness that offer flat fee, unlimited rentals without due dates orlate fees. As a start-up and outsider, NETFLIX was able to gauge whatgiants like BLOCKBUSTER were too big to noticed.

    NETFLIX, understanding the power of disruption, disruptedthemselves further and expanded into online video on demandbusiness. This resulted in the demise of industry titans such asBLOCKBUSTER and many other video rental service companies aroundthe world. NETFLIX created a business of convenience that offeredmore affordability, accessibility and availability to the industry titansunder-served customer.
