The CPO visited SOS Children’s Village Multan, he introduced himself and his son

to all of the children here at SOS Children’s Village Multan. He also took a tour of

the entire village and spent most of his day here. He also taught his son all about

SOS Children’s Village Multan.

Mrs. Maria held a cricket match amongst the girls that

Both the volunteer batches for the reading buddy

program have been completed:

Both the batches of the children that volunteered in the reading buddy program

have completed their volunteer services. They spent a lot of time with the children,

in which they taught them how to read and pronounce words properly. They also

guided them on what books and stories they should read and how they should

improve their vocabulary. They also played games and made various projects with

the children living in SOS Children’s Village Multan as well.

Topic: EMOTIONAL ABUSE

Firstly mothers gave understanding about topic then elaborate the topic

Emotional abuse is any kind of abuse that is emotional rather than physical in

nature. It can include anything from verbal abuse and constant criticism to more

subtle tactics such as Intimidation,manipulation and refusal to ever be pleased.

There are three general patterns of abusive behaviour include

● Aggressing

● Denying

● Minimizing

Blaming, shaming and name calling are a few verbally abusive factors which can

affect a child emotionally.

Try to build your relationship with children on behalf of your good behavior your

love and care.

The topic was explained with different examples to the children.

● The psychologist explained what peer pressure is and how they can take a

stand against such situations in which a person has to face peer pressure.

● Psychologist explained that all of us come across such situations at certain

times. Girls and boys both have to face peer pressure and it is unspoken and

spoken. And how can we resist the spoken and unspoken peer pressure.

● We can come across different peer pressures that can involve drugs

involvement, criminal activities, physical or mental abuse etc

● Psychologist explained that every individual has the right to resist any kind

of pressure. If a person of peer offer him/her something that needs a

resistance, he/she needs to stand up for his right and say no clearly and

assertively.

Every child had a good understanding of the topic. And they understood that if they

come across such situations in life they should be able to deal with it and that they

can seek help anytime from the psychologist.

Village Committee Visits:

Village Committee Members visited SOS Children’s Village Multan on monthly

basis. In this month, Mrs. Haniya Shahid checked the committee record,

sponsorship record. In the month of July; the brief history and the admission note of

every child have been checked by Mrs. Rameen Anis and Mrs. Rubina Arshad.

Besides that, Mrs. Rameen Anis also took a class with the mothers where she taught

them how to speak with a proper vocabulary. Maintenance of all the houses in the

SOS Children’s Village Multan was also done in which all of the sanitary conditions

of each house were checked, it included all the wood work and any plumbing issues

that the houses may have had.

Regular Hygiene Checkup of SOS Children:

A regular checkup of children hygiene and health on daily basis in the dispensary of

SOS Children’s Village Multan by the village director, Ms. Salma and the appointed

dispenser is monitoring all the children.

A Workshop for English Teachers from Oxford

University Press Multan:

On 6th August, 2019 a teachers training workshop was conducted to

guide teachers about New Oxford Modern English.

It was conducted by Ms. Beenish Akhlaque from Oxford University Press Multan.

The workshop started at 9:00 am.

First of all, the trainer introduced herself and played a song about song about the

importance of books. Then she gave a paper to all trainees and asked them to write

their name on it and put all papers in a basket. Then all the trainees introduced

themselves one by one.

Why we do teach English Language?

She asked the question from trainees and they gave different answers. Then she

herself explained the importance of English Language.

Then she started an activity. She gave paper to all trainees and asked them to write a

poem about their self using the given pattern.

Then one by one all the trainees read their poem. Ms. Beenish appreciated all the

trainees.

Then she shared the National Curriculum Framework and its standards.

1. Grammar

2. Vocabulary and punctuation

3. Creative writing

4. Moral and Ethical values

She also explained the comprehension and understanding.

She also talked about ECE (Early Childhood Education)

She conduct different interesting activities to explain “Research”

She guided the English teachers about their New Oxford Modern English Books and

its latest features. She guided how to cover all exercises within time?

At the middle of session all the trainees entertained with refreshment.

At the end of the workshop, trainees gave feedback about the workshop and

thanked to Ms. Beenish Akhlaque who conducted this interesting and informative

workshop for them.

A Workshop for Mathematics Teachers from Oxford

University Press Multan:

On 7th August, 2019 a teachers training workshop was conducted for

Mathematics teachers.

It was conducted by Mr. Zohaib Malik (Senior Teacher of Beaconhouse School

System Multan) from Oxford University Press Multan.

First of all Mr. Zohaib Malik introduced himself and told about the purpose of this

workshop. Then all the trainees introduced themselves one by one. Then he started

the workshop with an activity he gave question paper to all the trainees and asked

them to solve the questions related to mathematics. All the trainees enjoyed the

activity.

Then he started the second activity he gave comprehension passage to all the

trainees and then asked them to solve the questions. The basic purpose of this

activity was to give the basic concept about sets, real numbers, rational numbers and

algebra. Then he showed a video on multimedia about factorization and asked the

trainees to observe it. Then trainees performed an activity about factorization.

In the last he showed a video about the cube-root of a number and why we use

cube-root. All the trainees enjoyed and learned many useful skills about basic

mathematics terms.

It was very interesting and informative workshop. All the trainees thanked to Mr.

Zohaib Malik and Oxford University Press Multan who conducted this informative

workshop. They also thanked to the Management of SOS Hermann Gmeiner Higher

Secondary School Multan who provide this opportunity to their teachers to refresh

themselves.

A work shop for Science Teachers from Oxford

University Press Multan:

On 5th August, 2019 a teachers training workshop was conducted for

science teachers.

It was conducted by Ms. Zurisha Sajid (Msc. Bio Technology, Ph.D Gold Megalist)

from Oxford University Press Multan.

At the start of the workshop Ms. Zurisha Sajid introduced herself then all the

trainees introduced themselves one by one.

After that she started the workshop with an activity on the topic of “Life Cycle of

Plant”. She guide the teachers how we can teach students different topics through

small activities in class-room.

She showed a short video in which she gave the concept of Acid and Base. In which

it was showed that when we put mentos tablets in coke it create great bubbles and

blast.

Then she conducted Jigsaw Puzzle Activity in which all the trainees participated in

groups.

The next topic of workshop was “What is teaching?” She asked to trainees gave their

views about teaching.

All the trainees thanked this fruitful workshop for them and also thanked to the

administration of SOS Hermann Gmeiner Higher Secondary School Multan who

provide this opportunity to their teachers.

Inspection Team PBTE Visit:

Punjab Board of Technical Education Inspection Team inspect the SOS Multan

Institute of Technology on July 04th 2019. Principal & Staff members of SOS Multan

Institute of technology warmly welcomed the inspectors, Mr. Touqeer Ahmad

Principal of SMIT give brief introduction of SMIT, after that they visited all

classrooms and labs for inspection purpose. All classrooms and Labs were well

equipped with machinery/tools & equipment; PBTE members were fully satisfied

with this visit. After the completion of the labs visits refreshments were given to the

inspection team.

Inspection Team PSDF Visit:

On July 30th 2019, the 3rd party evaluation team of PSDF (Lahore) came to inspect

the PSDF proposed trades for the scheme of Punjab Skills development Program

2019. Principal & Staff members of SOS Multan Institute of technology warmly

welcomed to Mr. Zuhaib and his inspection team. Mr. Muhammad Nasurallah vice

Principal of SMIT give brief introduction of SMIT and represent the SMIT, they

visited all classrooms and labs for inspection purpose. All classrooms and Labs,

PSDF team members were satisfied with this visit. The main purpose of this visit is

six trade inspections for PSDF’s six months world bank funding scheme.
