Mr. Azhar Baloch sent a team of doctors to SOS Children’s Village Multan. They conducted a blood test of every single child currently living here and they informed us about their blood groups as well as many other details regarding their health.

Mr. Shameel Fareed Sheikh visited SOS Children’s Village Multan and showed a movie to the Youth boys and girls. The movie was called “Jinnah” and it was based on the life of the founder of Pakistan Quaid-E-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The children were also given pizzas during the movie which were provided by Mr. Shameel Fareed Sheikh.

Children’s Village Multan:

Mr. Javed Jabbar and various other SPOs visited SOS Children’s Village Multan, in which they were given a tour of all of the facilities of SOS Multan which included the SOS Hermann Gmeiner Higher Secondary School, SOS Youth Home and SOS Children’s Village by Mrs. Mahnaz Fareed Sheikh. They were also given some tea and snacks and were also shown a documentary of SOS as well as a couple of testimonial videos of the children living here at SOS Children’s Village Multan.

to the Sports Gala and they also played in multiple sporting events there in which they performed incredibly well.

Dr. Abida Fareed visited SOS Children’s Village Multan:

Dr. Abida Fareed who is the Assistant Commissioner at Shujabad visited SOS Children’s Village Multan and its projects. She was very impressed by our establishment and thus she asked us if there are any demands of any item that we may require here at SOS Children’s Village Multan.

Muqadas Parveen visited Lahore and Karachi for the

nationals of the World Robotics Olympiad:

Muqadas went to Lahore for the very first time for the World Robotics Olympiad and due to her performing at the event remarkably, she was then selected to further participate in the program at Karachi as well which is to be held in the same month a few days apart. After a couple of days, she went to Lahore and then boarded on a plane to Karachi for the event. However, she could not qualify any further and had to return back to Multan regardless of that fact every single person here at SOS Children’s Village Multan is incredibly proud of her.

Mothers Training Programme:

Topic: Equality between Biological and SOS children

All the mothers were gathered for a meeting at one place. They were introduced with the topic and were asked to give views on the selected topic. Every mother contributed well in the discussion and gave their views.

First of all, the topic was explained with different examples to the mothers that how important it is to maintain equality and love between mothers’ own children and SOS children.

If they failed to do so unfortunately SOS child will suffer and can develop certain traumas in order to fulfil their desires to be loved and care.

The psychologist explained to mothers that they should have a soft corner for SOS children as their own relatives abandoned them but SOS accepted them wholeheartedly being a part of SOS family it is the duty and responsibility of the mother to treat the child with equality and love.

The children are taught to treat SOS mother as their own mother.

It is duty of house mother to keep children from getting into any trauma or stress.

They were also explained that they will be rewarded for showing kindness and love to SOS children in life here after.

General Report of CPP

Topic: Being Building

The subject prepared under Child Protection Policy was "Being Building" children of

group a b c(separately) were given the counselling of mentioned subject.

The topic was explained with different examples to the children. Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among same aged children that involves a power imbalance of any sort and is repeated overtime.

Bullying includes actions such as making threats, spreading rumors attacking someone physically or verbally and excluding someone from a group of purpose.

Types of bullying were explained to them which are verbal, physical and social.

They were explained that bullying is taken place at home, school, playground or in the neighborhood.

Kids who are bullied are different from their peers. They are

overweight/underweight, wearing glasses or different clothes.

Bullying can create serious mental physical health issues, like depression,

anxiety, prolonged feelings of sadness, isolation, health complaints and low

academic sources. They are likely to miss, skip and drop out of school.

Children had a great understanding of the topic and promised to inform their

teachers, mothers if anything happens.

Village Committee Visits:

Village Committee Members visit SOS Children’s Village Multan on a monthly basis. In this month, it was decided that each Friends of SOS member will have a new id be created in the intra software starting with the name FOS. Mrs. Mahnaz Fareed Sheikh and Mrs. Haniya Shahid checked the Sponsorship record and fixed the problematic issues and synced the record with the intra software. In this month, each committee member was assigned a house here at SOS Children’s Village Multan that they would over looked by the committee members and that they would also make sure that everything is in proper order. Mrs. Saima Faisal also came and checked the previous record with the psychologist. She also gave suggestions on how to overcome the problems regarding the children living here at SOS Children’s Village Multan. Mrs. Mahnaz Fareed Sheikh held a meeting with the mothers and discussed any issues that they may have been facing and also told them on how they could solve those issues. Mrs. Mahnaz Fareed Sheikh brought along Mr. Shameel Sheikh this month as well, he had the responsibility of updating the brief histories and the admission notes of the children living here at SOS Children’s Village Multan on the intra software which would be done under the complete supervision of Mrs. Mahnaz Fareed Sheikh. Mrs. Mahnaz Fareed Sheikh also took the on the job of updating and maintaining the data that was on the intra software so that everything remains in perfect order. A discussion was also held among the committee members in which it was decided that a make a wish activity would be held and over looked by Mrs. Saima Faisal. It was decided that Mrs. Saliha Bukhari would fulfill the wishes of the 10 children that are currently living in the house C1 here at SOS Children’s Village Multan.

Regular Hygiene Checkup of SOS Children:

A regular checkup of children hygiene and health on daily basis in the dispensary of SOS Children’s Village Multan by the village director, Ms. Salma and the appointed dispenser is monitoring all the children.

Dettol School Education Program Activity:

Conducted on: 2nd September, 2019 Timing: 10:00 am to 11:30 am No. of performers: 02 No. of helpers: 02 Students of grade: I – VIII Aim of the activity: To promote the habit of washing hands in students. Purpose of activity: On 2nd September, 2019 “Dettol School Education Program” team visited SOS Hermann Gmeiner Higher Secondary School Multan. They met our Heads Mrs. Safia Mehar and Mrs. Kanwal Farooq and gave them briefing about their program.

After that the team addressed all the students of Grade I – VIII in auditorium. The students were divided into two groups. The purpose of conducting this activity was to promote the habit of washing hands and cleanliness in students.

From Dettol team Ms. Amber Started the activity. She introduced herself. She told following five methods to keep ourselves and our environment clean:

1. Grow more and more plants 2. Clean your washrooms 3. Wash your hands regularly after attending the washroom 4. Drink clean and boiled water and always covered the water 5. Clean your houses and streets and wash your hands after cleanliness

After that Ms. Neelam played a video and showed the students the right way of washing their hands which is verified by the ICSP. She told five steps of washing their hands with Dettol Soap.

Then they played another cartoon video to aware the students about germs and infection of different viruses.

Same procedure was executed in the second group.

All the students enjoyed the activity and they promised to keep themselves neat and clean and to wash their hands before and after every meal and after attending the washroom.

At the end of the activity they distributed puzzle games and handouts to all the students.

Before leaving, Dettol team thanked our administration who allowed them to conduct this activity.

Students Election Activity:

Conducted on: 16th September, 2019 Timing: 11:45 am to 1:15 pm Students of grade: VIII, IX, X No. of Students: 201 No. of Staff: 75 Aim of the activity: To select two candidates through voting as our

representative for a Head Boy & Head Girl. Purpose of activity: An election is a necessary feature of an institute. It gives an opportunity to the students to elect representatives of their own choice. For this purpose, on 16th September, 2019 SOS Hermann Gmeiner Higher Secondary School Multan conducted an election activity for the selection of Head Boy and Head Girl.

The election date was announced four days before the election. After announcing the date, the students started their campaigns. Great preparations were made before the day of election. An Election Committee was organized for the purpose.

The contestants were informed about the rules and regulations for election. Clear instructions were given to the participant as “if they do not follow these rules, they will be disqualified and no one will be allowed to carry on direct or indirect propaganda in the school.

All the students started their campaigns with great devotion. They made posters and badges and hung them on walls and windows to attract the attention of the voters.

Four students from Grade IX and X took part for the post of Head Boy and Head Girl.

At last the day of election came. In the school hall, the polling station was arranged that presented a very busy scene. Arrangements at the polling booths were excellent. All the students of grade VIII, IX, X and all the teaching staff casted votes with great discipline. Our Admin Head Mrs. Safia Mehar and Academic Head Mrs. Kanwal Farooq also casted their votes. The polling was ended peacefully. Our board of member Mrs. Robina also visited and observed all the arrangements. After casting the votes, the ballot boxes were opened and the votes were counted under the supervision of Mrs. Safia Mehar.

Al last the next day the results were declared and M. Adeel from Grade X (B) got 164 highest votes for Head Boy and Mahnoor Khan Lodhi from Grade X (A) got 151 votes for Head Girl.

Both the students and their supporters were very excited. They thanked their supporters and all the staff who made them successful.

Mrs. Safia Mehar, Mrs. Kanwal Farooq and all the staff congratulated them on their success.

Both the selected students awarded with a badge and sash of Head Boy and Head Girl and assign them their duties as a Head Boy and Head Girl.

Football Match Activity:

Conducted on: 18th September, 2019 Conducted on: Bloomfield Hall School System Multan Timing: 8:00 am to 12:00 noon No. of Students: 13 Students of grade: VII – X Aim of the activity: To learn the quality of discipline, self-control and

sportsmanship. Purpose of activity: Sports and games play an important role in growth and development of human beings. Playing games is essential for our health. Sports teach us the great qualities of discipline, self-control and sportsmanship.

Our SOS Hermann Gmeiner Higher Secondary School Multan always conducts different physical and mental activities for their students. Such type of activity was conducted for SOS students on 18th September, 2019. It was a football match with Bloomfield Hall’s students. The match was played on the ground of Bloomfield Hall’s school. All the students reached there at 8 o’clock under the super vision of Mr. Sohail. From Bloomfield Hall Ms. Nighat and Mr. Rafique welcomed our team. Then both the teams introduced themselves. After that the match started at the fix time. Both the teams were in high spirits. They were trying their best to make a goal. Bloomfield Hall’s team succeeded to score 4 goals. Our team tried their best to make goal.

At last, Bloomfield Hall’s team won the match by 4 goals. SOS was team runner-up. From Bloomfield Hall Ms. Nighat appreciated the performance of both the teams. Then all the players were entertained with some refreshment.

All the students enjoyed this match. Then the players came back to SOS School.

Birthday Party Activity:

Conducted on: 7th September, 2019 Grade: KG – II (A + B + C + D) Aim of the activity: To give the students the concept of sharing, celebrating and

wishing to someone on his/her birthday. Purpose of activity: On 7th September 2019 grade KG – II Section (A + B + C + D) class teachers arranged birthday party activity in their classrooms (topic of General Knowledge).

The basic purpose to organize this activity was to give the students the concept of celebration and arranging the birthday party.

All the class incharges and students fully participated in conducting this activity. They arranged all the things very well. They decorated their classrooms with colorful balloons, cards, ribbons and paper flowers. Teachers made birthday caps with colorful charts. They also made beautiful invitation cards to invite Admin Head, Academic Head and Coordinators as a guest. Our admin Head Mrs. Safia

Mehar provided cakes, candles and other things for this activity. Students brought their favorite lunch for this activity.

Our Academic Head Mrs. Kanwal Farooq also participated in this activity as a guest. She enjoyed this activity. She cut the cake with students and took photographs as a memory of this event. She also distributed small gifts to the students. She appreciated the teachers who conducted this well organized and healthy activity for the students. She also asked different questions from students about this activity.

All the students were very happy and excited. They learned many new things through this activity such as sharing, celebration, wishing to someone on his/her birthday and how to arrange a birthday party.

An Awareness Raising Session about Dengue Fever:

Conducted on: 25th September, 2019 Conducted by: Students of SOS Hermann Gmeiner Higher Secondary

School Multan Timing: 12:15 noon to 1:00 pm Students of grade: IV , IX to XII Aim of the activity: To aware the students about “Dengue Virus” and its

preventive measures to avoid Dengue Fever. Purpose of activity: On 25th September, 2019 and awareness raising session about prevention from Dengue Fever was conducted by the students of SOS Hermann Gmeiner Higher Secondary School Multan. It was conducted in the hall of SOS Hermann Gmeiner Higher Secondary School Multan. All the students gathered there. Our Academic Head Mrs. Kanwal Farooq and Admin Head Mrs. Safia Mehar

were also present there. The Students displayed different banners and posters to give awareness about Dengue Fever. Mrs. Kanwal Farooq called the students of Grade XII and X Mr. Abdullah Shah and Mr. M. Adeel (Head Boy). They shared information about Dengue Fever. They told about the reasons and symptoms of Dengue Fever. They told that it spread due to a specific virus and this virus spread through mosquito’s bite. Then our Academic Head Mrs. Kanwal Farooq and Admin Head Mrs. Safia Mehar told about preventive measures to avoid Dengue Fever. They told that we can be safe from this infectious disease by using insecticides and repellents which are quite essential to protect ourselves from the mosquito bite.

It was very useful and informative session both the heads and students gave useful information. Students asked different questions about Dengue Fever and raised slogan against Dengue. They promised to share this information with all their friends and family.

Staff Meeting led by Executive Committee’s Member Mrs. Rubina Arshad:

and purpose of their lesson. Purpose of activity: On 25th September, 2019 one of our Executive Committee Members Mrs. Rubina Arshad called a meeting with teaching staff. The main

purpose of this meeting was to realize the teachers about their sense of responsibility and the basic purpose of their lesson. It was a friendly session. She started the session with a question. She asked the teachers about the purpose of their lesson. She asked what purpose they have, when they go to their classrooms. Teachers told about their own purposes of lesson one by one. She motivated the teachers and said to do “self-analysis”. Have we achieved the purpose of our lesson?

Then she discussed different types of techniques to tackle different types of student’s issues,

She talked about the maintenance of discipline during break time.

She motivated the teachers to understand the sense of responsibility.

She also told about BB talk (Black Board Talk) and its effects.

It was really a very friendly session. She discussed all the points which she had observed during her visit to the classrooms. She guided and motivated the teachers about teaching skills and strategies. All the staff members were highly thankful to Mrs. Rubina Arshad for this meeting.

Celebration of 06th September Defense Day:

In the memory of martyrs of 1965 Pak-Indo war, SMIT organized an event on 06th September in which some documentaries were played on multi-media.

Students were very excited and emotional; the atmosphere was raised by the slogans of “Allah ho Akbar”. Principal, Vice Principal and teachers told the stories of world’s biggest tank war and achievements of fighter pilot MM Alam.

PSDF Center Inspection:

SOS Multan Institute of Technology is qualified for PSDF’s scheme “Skills for Job 2019”. PSDF send the inspection team on 19th September, 2019 to verify all infrastructure, equipment, machinery and faculty. On inspection day all faculty members were present in their concern labs for briefing.

Inspector was satisfied from arrangements and appreciates the SMIT’s effort.

MNS University of Agriculture Seminar:

SMIT conducted a seminar organized by MNS University of Agriculture Multan for awareness of “Kitchen Gardening” and “Roof top Farming”. Females of SMIT and SOS Village Multan participated with full excitement and learn how to grow healthy and fresh vegetables at their home.
