Dr. Mehak Visited SOS Children’s Village
Multan and distributed gifts among Children
on Chandni Raat:
On June 04, 2019, Dr. Mehak visited with her daughter in SOS Children’s Village
Multan and spent time with the SOS girls. Firstly, she distributed gifts among all SOS
children and then she made different Mehndi designs on SOS girls and enjoyed it a lot.
Ms. Zahra Khalid visited SOS Children’s
Village Multan and spends time on Chandni
Raat with Children:
On June 04, 2019, Ms. Zahra Khalid (Member of Friends of SOS) visited SOS Children’s
Village Multan and distributed bangles among the girls and the Mothers of SOS
Children’s Village Multan. She also played cricket with the boys and spent time with
the children in SOS Village. The SOS children enjoyed it a lot.
Mr. Amir Khatak (DCO) with Mr. Azhar Baloch
came for the distribution of Clothes and Eidi:
On June 02, 2019 DCO Multan Mr. Amir Khatak with Mr. Azhar Baloch came to the
SOS Children’s Village Multan and distributed clothes and Eidi among all the children
including the Mothers and Staff. Every year, they came with the Eidi Gifts. All children
were eagerly waiting for Mr. Azhar and they also love him a lot.
Eid Celebration:
On 05 June 2019, Mrs. Mahnaz Fareed Sheikh with her family came at SOS Children’s
Village Multan and offered Eid prayer with the children in the Masjid of SOS Village
Multan. They also spent time with the children and the children’s excitement and
happiness shone on their faces and that is what we all work for, here at the SOS
Villages.
Mrs. Amir Khatak with Mr. Azhar Baloch
visited SOS Children’s Village Multan on Eid
Day and distributed Eidi and sweets among
Children:
On Eid Day, Mr. Azhar Bloch with Mrs. Amir Khatak visited SOS Children’s Village
Multan and distributed Eidi among the children, mothers and staff. At the end, sweets
were distributed in staff, mothers & children. All children’s were very happy.
Musical Night on the 2nd Day of Eid in SOS
Children’s Village Multan:
We arranged a musical night with the cooperation of Z-axis group at SOS children’s
Village Multan. The children really enjoyed this event. They sang songs and danced
with the children. On the Musical Night, all the children with the mothers were given
shawrma with bottles.
Cinema Trip of Youth Girls and Youth Boys on
the Third Day of Eid: On the third day of Eid, Mrs. Mahnaz Fareed Sheikh arranged a Cinema trip for the
SOS youth girls and boys at the Universal Cinema. At 10:00 am, all children moved
towards the cinema and they reached there at 11:15 am. They all watched the 1st show
which started in 11:30 am.
All children watched the movie “ Chalawa ” and enjoyed it a lot.
Jheel Trip of the Children’s of SOS Multan:
SOS Children’s Village Multan arranged a recreational trip on Monday 17th June 2019,
in which 130 children, all the mothers, and some of the Staff members participated.
They moved towards Askaria Jheel at 3:00pm through bus. After 15 minutes of
traveling, they reached at the front gate of the Askaria Jheel. They were very excited to
see the beautiful Lake view of Askari Jheel. The children and the staff members found a
decent place at the lake’s ground to sit and sing songs. After a short time they were
insisting for swings. They rode the train, sky swings, and dragon swings etc. They
drank Pepsi and ate burgers. After eating and drinking they decided to move towards
their homes. So they came back at 8:30pm.
Summer Volunteer ship Program:
Volunteers are the key to our children's link with the external society. Our SOS Village
children look forward to this interaction with the youth on a yearly basis and develop
long lasting memories as peers with the volunteers. Many volunteers completed their 40
hours and other volunteers are still completing their hours, not only take back a service
certificate, but learn in the process the meaning of sharing and dedication of time for
those less fortunate. Various modes of interaction throughout the summer, ranging
from telling stories, the methods adopted by them leave indelible marks of education on
the minds of children of SOS Village, and this way of education takes them towards the
zenith of success. Total enrollment of the volunteers for the June 2019 session was 90.
The Opening Ceremony for the construction of
SOS Child Home Multan:
The opening ceremony for the construction of SOS Child Home was held on Saturday
22nd of June, 2019 at SOS Children’s Village Multan.
The children warmly welcomed our distinguished guests and Executive Committee
Members. Before the commencement of the Opening Ceremony, Mrs. Fozia Mughis A.
Sheikh prayed for the success of the upcoming project and Mrs. Mahnaz Fareed Sheikh
(General Secretary SOS Multan) gave a welcome note and a detailed presentation on the
SOS projects to our hounourable guests.
The base of this foundation was laid by the Executive Committee Member, Mr. Shahnaz
Chatha and Mr. Najeeb Ahmed. It is a gigantic achievement for SOS Multan. All the
SOS Village’s Pakistan have equipped themselves with a youth facility to separate them
from the village, so the board members have decided and planned to provide this
facility to our youth boys.
Mother’s counseling:

Topic: Emotional Abuse, Physical Abuse, Sexual Abuse
● First of all the mothers were explained the topic
● Certain behaviour were explained that cause of distress of children
● Yelling or swearing
● Name calling or insult, mocking
● Threats and intimidation
● Ignoring or excluding
● Isolation
Denied of abuse and blaming of victim
Child Protection Policy:
● General Report of CPP
● Topic: Identify and belonging feeling with SOS
● First of all the topic was explained by psychologist
● Psychologist elaborates the topic with examples and made the group understand
about how one defines their self and what our views about ourselves are
● We become what we think of ourselves we act the way we perceive ourselves if
we have positive views about ourselves we will tend to develop positive traits in
ourselves
● Then psychologist explained to the group about how they are being defined by
others
● Every child had a good understanding of the topic. The main concern of
explaining this topic to the children was to relate and have an understanding of
their mental with the help of the SOS village and that they should be proud of it.

Village Committee Visits:
Village Committee Members visited SOS Children’s Village Multan on a monthly
basis. Mrs. Haniya Tasneem Sultan went through the proposed budget of SOS
Children’s Village, SOS HG Higher Secondary School and SOS youth facility Multan
for 2019-2020. In this month, Mrs. Haniya Shahid checked the committee record,
sponsorship record. Mrs. Mahnaz Fareed also made rules for the volunteer ship
program and clearly gave instructions regarding the reading buddy program.
Besides that, Mrs. Mahnaz Fareed Sheikh made the budget according to the demand
of all of the houses like sanitary, painting, plumbing etc and now the work has been
continued in all houses.
In this month Mrs. Mahnaz Fareed also rescheduled the progress report for the
upcoming year 2020. Mrs. Rameen Anis Sheikh also came and took the class of the
mothers.
Regular Hygiene Checkup of SOS Children:
A regular checkup of the children’s hygiene and health in the dispensary of SOS
Children’s Village Multan by the village director, Ms. Salma and the appointed
dispenser is currently monitoring all of the children.
