We were thinking of a name for our website. We chosen ‘express yourself’ as a fashion name as it link with the idea of individualism . Fashion is an individual choice.

Proposal

IntroductionThe concept of our production is to create a website. The website will be based on fashion which will include latest trends, fashion advice, games (where you can produce your own t-shirt etc.), music and animations within texts and images. We have a variety of inspirational aspects one of which came from Espen J Arseth who quoted “a cyber-text is a machine for the production of variety of expression”. We will therefore include subheadings as hyperlinks such as: Goth, leathers, spikes, and the rise of oversize, evening gowns, furs, vintage and accessories. These have all come from our inspiration of fashion itself. We are going to use Theo van Doesburg and Kurt Hermann style of typography to create our own unique name for our website.

Musicwe are going to include music within the different categories of fashion. The music will relate to the style of the fashion trend for example, Goth will include rock music. The music will be played via a playlist button which will enable the viewer to mute, lower or raise the sound.

Animations/links/hyperlinks

The animated image in this example fashion website fades into other images and allows the viewer to click onto the next image using the hyperlinked arrow as shown above.

Target audienceour website will attract a specific target audience, mainly females aged between 16 to 25. This is because teenagers like us are more concerned about the way they look and dress. Also, students who have an involvement in fashion at colleges and universities are more likely to visit fashion websites as such. Based on the style and colour of the theme, this again links to our target audience due to including bright eye-catching colours and images.

Project requirementsTo create our website, we will be using various Adobe software’s such as: Adobe illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Illustrator. Adobe Illustrator will allow us to produce a creative Title and Slogan which will be used as a form of brand communication for our audience. Macintosh computers will be used at all times to create the features for our website. We may use a camera to collect our own primary sources, such as images for the website.

Project timeline

Phase 1 (week 5): we are going to agree on the name and slogan of our website.

Phase 2 (Week 6): during this week we are going to concentrate on the theme and background of our website.

Phase 3 (Week 7 and 8): we are going to focus on our website features and sub headings

Phase 4 (week 9): specific music genres are going to be selected for each subheading.

Phase 5 (week 10): images and information under the subheadings are going to be stored.

Phase 6 (week 11 and 12): game (where you can produce your own t-shirt etc.)

Product description

In conclusion, the concept of our production is to create a Fashion genre website which is aimed at female gendered audience, aged between 16 to 25. We are going to familiarize ourselves with other artists and well known Experimental Designer styles, in order to develop and create our own narrative.
