in 5/6C
5/6C are hard at work with writing imaginative texts and poetry. Here is an example of some work displayed in our room.
All year 6 students attending Casino High went to the orientation day last Tuesday and everyone had a wonderful day. Mrs Tami Chadderton.
Dear parents, carers and community members,
Welcome to week 7 as we come towards our end of year activities. We have had the great news that SOME visitors can attend our end of year graduations and presentation events. We are currently planning how this looks as there are strict number limitations and social distancing regulations to comply to. Year 6 families should have received invitations for the Year 6 graduation dinner and we will be sending invites for one family member from each family to attend our presentation assembly on Thursday 10 December 2020 at 9:45am.
Our end of year excursions are organised with 5/6C and 5/6R heading to Ballina waterslide on Monday 30 November. Years 4/5K, 3/4S and 3/4M are going tenpin bowling in Lismore and swimming at Casino Pool on Monday 7 December and 2C, 1/2W, K/1S and KS will be going to the cinema in Kyogle on Monday 7 December. All students know they need to be safe, responsible and respectful learners at school in order to attend these excursions.
Our end of term attendance reward is also coming up at the end of week 9. All students who have attended school more than 90% of time will be eligible to attend. We have greatly improved our attendance over the 2020 year, thank you to all families for your support.
There will be an incursion on Thursday with a show for the whole school “Three”. By the Meerkat group. It is wonderful to be able to give students these experiences after a very isolated school year for us all.
Mr Campbell has been creating our silver rewards for all students who are consistently safe, responsible and respectful learners at our school. Well done to all students who achieve these awards, we are proud of your efforts.
Have a great week!

at Casino West Public School!
Our value this week is
PRESENCE
To be present when someone is speaking to you means giving them your full attention and listening carefully to what they are saying.
By being present for others you make them feel valued.
Being present is being aware of what is happening right now – not thinking about yesterday or
tomorrow – but thinking, noticing and attentively being in the moment now.
“Focus on opportunities not setbacks. Focus on what you can do, not what you can’t. Focus on the present moment, not the past or the future. Empower yourself!”
“Today is the first day of the rest of your life.” Ms G. Speck Instructional Leader
