I found it and I am adding it to the master document right now, along with Bob's persona. I'll upload anew version of the master document in 30 mins for further checking with those elements included. I havehad to push the font size quite small (10) to make it fit, but with two columns of text it isn't too bad. Ihave kept the Portrait of Geoffrey Robertson sin so we have eight.

Still waiting on final text for the frame analyses. Is anyone finished with their frame analysis? If so, itmight be good to get extra eyes on each one - the first draft is rarely the best draft for that kind of thing.

It's taken me 2 hours, but I've changed the format of all our portraits into Microsoft Office Word file, named CollatedGroup Portrait. Bob can add his portrait onto it, I've made space. Also, Bill Potts' information does not fit in one page.As I mentioned earlier, Bill Potts portrait needs to be paraphrased and filtered for information.

I will try to change the format for the persona and extreme characters too.

I guess everyone is in bed now. I apologise if I woke anyone up.

I just wanted to tell everyone that I've just completed re-creating all our portraits, personas, extreme characters, andreference files into one complete Microsoft Office Word file. You can find it in drop box. Please edit or addinformation as you please.

Also, I am not familiar with the concept of adding footnotes as a writing style; therefore, I've deleted all thefootnotes previously while making the publisher version, but I'm sure I've added them on the reference page. Ianyone is uncomfortable with this idea, please feel free to change it.

Well I'm off to bed now.

The idea is to describe. how your own portraits were researched rather than describe thisperson, because what I guess Ben wants is to know the process we followed to build up the portraits. I think Bob's Portrait is missing. The frame analysis is also missing. I already uploaded mine and the introductoryparagraphs are almost done. The portrait and extreme characters are still missing. Im working on that right now.

Regarding to the references, I used endnote with MLA as we agreed, but I just noticed there is a reference table. Howare we supposed to do this? Do i have to fill in that table or endnote is fine?

I have uploaded an image from the microsoft office images library to use for the Highflier persona. I don't want to add it to the powerpoint file if the content has already been moved into a publisher file. Would it be possible to have it added to the persona? There is already a reference to the image source in the references list.



I also note that we have three of the four personas in the dropbox directory. Bob - how are you going with the "traditionalist" persona?

I have uploaded a "bonus" frame analysis I did as a quick exercise, looking at the storyboard for the legal aid barrister dilemma. It is pretty crude stuff, but I figured it might spark ideas for people who are doing the frame analysis - the more concrete examples the better methinks!

Hope everybody is doing okay with their part of the project, I've managed make a publisher file with all of everyone'sportraits, persona, and extreme characters (I'm still in the process of creating my extreme character). I've added all three files yesterday in drop boxunder the file name:

Regarding Extreme character

Please have a look at your portrait and compare it with the portraits done by other members, so you can add, edit ormake changed to your own portraitbefore handing it in. In addition, while going through all the portraits, persona, and extreme character I've made some notes which arelisted below:

Portraits

- Bill Potts: most of Bill Potts information on personality needs to be filtered and paraphrased.

Persona (our persona's seemed to lack in detail compared to our researched persona)

- Jack Lewis: needs more specific information on what kind of: * 'numerous other postgraduate diploma/degree he has achieved (e.g. language? commerce?business?) * volunteer work he did/does (e.g. help the senior citizens? fundraising?), and where hedid/does it? - Jenni Justice: needs more specific detail on: * her age * number of children and their age (we need these details to build on her 'working mother'character) * what areas she is 'well-organised' in (e.g. time management? document file? arrangingappointments?) * examples that support the attitude of 'knows what she wants' (state what she desires orbelieves is important) * what she is 'dedicated' in (e.g. role as mother? job? housework? fighting for her eithicalbeliefs?) * what 'drives' her (e.g. passion driven? motivation driven?) Also, I will be making a reference file which will be used to collect everyone's research details from books, article,websites etc. It will be divided into 5 sections (portrait, extreme character, persona, storyboard dilemma, and frame analysis. Title page idea

Im having trouble starting my commentary/explanatory paragraph for my portrait and extreme character. i'm notsure what kind of information i need to add and how I need to set it out. Has anyone started or finished theircommentary/explanatory paragraph and is okay about sharing it so I can use it as an exemplar to write mine?

In addition, I've just uploaded the 'reference list collection' file and updated the newbie barrister persona.

Also, how many extreme character portraits do we need?

I'm not familiar with with the use of footnotes, so I was thinking of making a separate page for all references,deleting all the footnotes and references on each page of the portraits, persona, and extreme characters. Anyopinions or thoughts regarding the referencing idea?

Hi everyone,

I have uploaded an updated breakdown of the legal aid scenario (LegalAid Barrister Dilemma v2), and a crude initial sketch for how the actioncould be storyboarded (DECO7110 Legal Aid Storyboard.jpg). This is justsomething to spark our artists to make something better so feel free tomutate it in any way you like, and to generate feedback. One of mygolden rules is people give much better feedback when confronted withsomething tangible!

Note that I have reduced the 16 original "moments" into a moremanageable 9 shots, combining some shots, removing an unnecessarycharacter and moving some of the action into the titles on the images.

Now would be a good time for everyone to have a peek and throw in someconstructive criticism - the text is pretty bland and the "shots" that Ihave set out would make a cinematographer weep.

I have attached a reworked version of my portrait using the powerpoint template. Unfortunately Dropbox refuses to accept the file. Given that we want to reference our sources in each page of our final document we should probably move to using Word and its lovely end notes instead of powerpoint. I recommend end notes because it keeps each page far cleaner



but we can discuss that this afternoon.

On that point, I would like to suggest that each of our items (portraits, personas, storyboards etc) should have at least three different sources/references supporting our claims?

Sorry I couldn't make it to the group meeting today. I saw the notes posted on the group blog and they werewonderful.

For Moday's homework, correct me if i'm wrong, we need

2 portraits1 extreme character1 persona3 dilemma scenarios

which need to be complete for hand-in.

Can somebody update me on what was discussed during the group meeting? Have you already decided on who willbe doing what?

Also, does anybody mind me doing my portrait on Mary Gaudron? I looked her up after Paul's post and I wasintrigued. I've left comments on our group blog, but I don't think anyone noticed them.
