action.

Dè tha dol?

Sgoil Ghàidhlig Ghlaschu

Tha àm na Nollaig air tighinn a’ toirt gu crìch teirm tha air

a’ bhith anabarrach trang, cho soirbheachail, agus cho

spòrsail! Tha sinn an dòchas gum bi nan saor-laithean aig

na sgoilearan, teaghlaichean agus an luchd-obrach cho

sìtheil, socair agus sona. Chi sinn sibh ann an 2019!

Nollaig Chridheil agus Bliadhna Mhath Ùr!

Christmas has finally arrived after such a busy term with

great success and such good times. We hope everyone in

our school community have a peaceful, happy and calm.

We will see you in 2019.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Mòran taing!/Many thanks.

The Pupil Support Department

It’s been another busy term for the Pupil Support Department. We

returned to school in August to the wonderful news of our young peo-

ple’s success in their National Qualifications as well as their acceptance

into a wide variety of college and university courses. Here are some of

the other highlights from our first term back:

In September, our senior pupils went to the ‘Fire Up Scotland’ event in

the Hydro where presenters, speakers and performers from across the

world of education, business, entertainment, art, sport and culture

gathered to speak to 12000 young people from across the country and

inspire them to step up and become more entrepreneurial and creative.

Also in September, our S6 pupils attended a UCAS exhibition to get

them ready for writing their UCAS forms and consider all the further

and higher education options that are available to them.

In October, some of our S4 pupils went on a fact finding mission to

Cleveden Secondary School to find out what they are doing to make

their school more inclusive and welcoming to LGBT students; we got

some great ideas to implement at Sgoil Ghàidhlig Ghlaschu.

The Halloween Disco was a great success; well done to our S6 pupils

for their excellent organisation.

Throughout the term, Glasgow Rape Crisis and

the Domestic Violence Unit have been coming in

to talk to our pupils about these very serious and

important issues. Our young people treated the

presenters with the utmost respect and were a

credit to the school.

Glasgow Young Carers have also been in to share

the work that they do with young people.

Remember, the Pupil Support Department is al-

ways available to help any young person that has a

caring role.

In November, we celebrated Scottish

Dyslexia Awareness Week with a series

of assemblies for all year groups high-

lighting the strengths and successes of

learners with Dyslexia.

Also in November, some of our S3 pu-

pils presented to young people and

staff on what we are doing to eradicate

period poverty in Sgoil Ghàidhlig

Ghlaschu. Sanitary products are now

available, free of charge, in the third

floor toilets and from Pastoral Care.

Taic Sgoilearan

Is e teirm dripeil eile a tha air a bhith ann do roinn Taic Sgoilearan.

Thill sinn don sgoil san Lùnastal a dh’fhaighinn na fìor dheagh

naidheachd gun robh na daoine òga againn soirbheachail anns na Teis-

teanasan Nàiseanta a thuilleadh air àite fhaotainn air measgachadh

farsaing de chùrsaichean colaiste is oilthighe. Seo cuid de na bàrr-

phuingean eile sa chiad teirm againn:

San t-Sultain, chaidh na sgoilearan as sine gu tachartas ‘Fire Up Scot-

land’ anns an Hydro far an robh riochdairean, òraidichean agus

gnìomhaichean bho air feadh saoghal foghlaim, gnothachais, fèisteis,

ealain, spòrs agus cultair air cruinneachadh a labhairt ri 12,000 de dha-

oine òga bho air feadh na dùthcha gus am brosnachadh a bhith àrd-

amasail agus nas tionnsgainich ’s nas cruthachail.

Cuideachd san t-Sultain, fhritheil sgoilearan ÀS6 taisbeanadh UCAS

gus an deisealachadh airson nam foirmean UCAS aca a lìonadh a-

steach agus beachdachadh air na roghainnean foghlaim adhartach is

àrd-ìre and a tha fosgailte dhaibh.

San Dàmhair chaidh cuid de sgoilearan ÀS4 air turas rannsachaidh gu

Àrd-Sgoil Cleveden a dh’fhaighinn a-mach dè tha iad a’ dèanamh air-

son na sgoile aca a dhèanamh nas in-ghabhalaich agus nas fhàilteachail

do dh’oileanaich LGBT; fhuair sinn beachd-smuaintean fìor mhath air-

son an cur an gnìomh ann an Sgoil Ghàidhlig Ghlaschu.

Tron teirm tha Rape Crisis Ghlaschu agus an Aonad Fòir-

neirt san Dachaigh air a bhith a’ tighinn a-steach a

bhruidhinn ris na sgoilearan mu dheidhinn nan

cùisean fìor chudromach is trom-chuiseach sin. Nochd

na daoine òga againn làn spèis do na riochdairean agus

bha iad nan urram don sgoil.

Tha Luchd-cùraim Òg Ghlaschu air a bhith a-staigh

cuideachd gus an obair a tha iad a’ dèanamh le daoine

òga a roinn dhuinn. Cuimhnich, tha an Roinn Taic

Sgoilearan an-còmhnaidh fosgailte gus neach òg sam

bith a chuideachadh aig a bheil dleastanas cùraim.

San t-Samhain chomharraich sinn

Seachdain Mothachaidh Dyslexia

na h-Alba le sreath de chruin-

neachaidhean do gach bliadhna

sgoile a’ togail air neartan is

soirbheachaidhean luchd-

ionnsachaidh le Dyslexia.

Cuideachd san t-Samhain rinn cuid

de sgoilearan ÀS3 taisbeanadh do

dhaoine òga agus do luchd-obrach

air na tha sinn a’ dèanamh ann an

Sgoil Ghàidhlig Ghlaschu gus cur

às do bhochdainn. Tha nithean

slàinteil rim faotainn an-asgaidh

anns na taighean-beaga air an treas

làr agus bho Chùram Aoghaireil.

Debating and Public Speaking

Our Department take part in the

Procurator Fiscal’s Schools’ Public

Speaking Competition each year.

This is for S2 and S3 pupils. This

year we have had two teams enter.

We also take part in the Donald

Dewar Debating Competition for

senior pupils. Our team is looking

forward to the next stage of the

competition.

The Pupil Support Department cont.

The Baldy Bane Theatre Group came in to run workshops for S1 and

S5/6 pupils again this term. As always, they were a great addition to

our session. The workshops focused on Road Safety for S1 and learning

how to drive for S5 and S6.

Live-n-Learn have continued to make a positive impact on staff and

young people, spreading the word about the importance of Growth

Mind-set and practical strategies for study and success.

In December, we not only had the N4/5 prelims, some of our S4 pupils

also went off on work experience and made a great impression; what

fabulous ambassadors for Sgoil Ghàidhlig Ghlaschu.

We’ll finish off the term with a Disco and a Merit Reward Trip to the

GFT to see ‘Elf’ for S1-3 pupils.

Roll on 2019!

Beurla cont.

Our pupils get the opportunity to attend theatre productions whenever

possible. Earlier this month a group from first year, third year and senior

pupils attended an evening performance of the musical adaptation of ‘Little

Women’. We all enjoyed the performance. Pupils who were studying A Christ-

mas Carol by Charles Dickens went to see the Citizens Theatre production of

the festive story onstage on 13 December. We hope to organise similar even-

ing trips for our senior pupils to the showings of ‘Macbeth’ and ‘Romeo and

Juliet’ both of which are coming to the Theatre Royal in the spring.

Ms Campbell’s S1 pupils enjoyed a trip to a fascinating Michael Morpurgo ex-

hibition in Kilmarnock recently. The class had completed reading ‘Private

Peaceful’ by the author and so ‘A Lifetime in Stories’ was an excellent way to

top what had been a very enjoyable learning experience.

Taic Sgoilearan

Thàinig Buidheann Theatar Baldy Bane a-steach a-rithist air an

teirm seo a ruith bhùithtean-obrach do sgoilearan ÀS1 agus

AS5/6. Mar as àbhaist chuir iad gu mòr ris an t-seisean againn.

Bha na bùithtean-obrach a’ cuimseachadh air Sàbhailteachd

Rathaid do ÀS1 agus ionnsachadh air dràibheadh do ÀS5 agus

ÀS6.

Tha Live-n-Learn air leantainn air adhart a’ toirt buaidh deimhin-

neach air luchd-obrach agus daoine òga, a’ sgaoileadh an fha-

cail mu chudromachd Growth Mind-set agus ro-innleachdan

practaigeach airson ionnsachadh is soirbheachadh.

San Dùbhlachd bha fo-dheuchainnean N4/5 againn ach a bhar-

rachd air an sin chaidh cuid de sgoilearan ÀS4 air greis

gnìomhachais agus thug iad cliù don sgoil; abair tosgairean

mìorbhaileach do Sgoil Ghàidhlig Ghlaschu.

Cuiridh sinn crìoch air an teirm le Disco agus Turas Duais Air-

idheachd don GFT do sgoilearan ÀS1-3 a dh’fhaicinn Elf.

Greas ort 2019!

Gàidhlig Latha nan sgoilearan aig Oilthigh Ghlaschu - Diardaoin 11 Dàmhair Latha airson sgoilearan a bhios a’ leughadh Gàidhlig mar chus-pair aig àrd-ìre (S5/6) is ag amas air blasad a thoirt dhaibh air beatha oileanaich Oilthigh

Modern Languages

Euroschola trip to Strasbourg

6 Advanced Higher French pupils travelled to Strasbourg in Decem-ber to take part in the Euroschola programme. This is a unique oppor-tunity to learn about European integration by experiencing it firsthand. Students from the 28 EU Member States are selected to become a Member of the European Parliament at the Parliament's premises in Strasbourg.

Furthermore, participants are given the possibility to introduce their school and the region where they come from, which provides greater diversity and enriches the cultural dialogue.

The purpose of the European Day of Language is to celebrate both the cul-

tural and linguistic diversity within Europe and to encourage and promote

language learning.

The Modern Languages department celebrated European Day of Language

this year by offering pupils tasters of additional new languages includ-

ing Arabic, Italian, Russian and German. Pupils also took part in quiz-

zes about culture and language learning.

S4 French pupils have been engaged in preparation for their final N5 Talking

exam which they sat in November and we have been pleased with their effort

and the quality of their work.

S1 pupils created presentations about themselves, either on Power Points

which they delivered in class, or posters which were on display at Parents’

Evening. The standard of work was high, and speakers were enthusiastic, with

a good level of fluency.

On the second of November, the S3 and S5 Spanish classes have enjoyed

learning about El Día de los Muertos which is a Mexican holiday celebrated

throughout Mexico, in particular the Central and South regions, and by people

of Mexican heritage elsewhere.

Science Biology students had the chance to ’go wild’ at the Zoology Muse-um and Blair Drummond Safari Park. Our S1 pupils were treated to a spectacular Science show by our good friend, Dr Lyons.

Saidheans Coimpiutaireachd

Seisean ‘Lagh Sràid’

Bha sinn ro thoilichte fàilte a chur air sgioba oileanaich agus luchd-obrach bhon Clionaig Lagha aig Oilthigh Chailleannach Ghlaschu airson seisean a dhèanamh air laghan Saidheans Coimpiutaireachd. Bha fòcas air an Achd Mì-fheum Coimpiutair agus GDPR. Tha na laghan seo mar phàirt de na cùr-saichean a tha ar n-òigridh a’ leantainn ma tha iad a’ dèanamh Saidheans Coimpiutaireachd mar chuspair. Abair gun robh deasbad fallainn againn nuair a bha na buidhnean a’ beachdachadh air na diofar eisimpleirean a bha stèidhichte air suidheachaidhean a nochd sna cùirtean. Dh’fheumadh an òigridh smaoineachadh mar bhritheamhan agus adhbharan a thoirt seachad airson an cuid co-dhùnaidhean. Dh’ionnsaich iad cuideachd mu dheidhinn an cùrsa lagha aig OCG agus an obair fharsainn anns a bheil an Clionaig Lagha an sàs. Bu mhath le Mgr Combe a cho-òrdanaich an seisean taing mhòr a thoirt, às leth na sgoile, dhan an sgioba a thàinig agus tha sinn a’ dèanamh fiughair am faicinn a-rithist. Computing Science ‘Street Law’ Session We were delighted to welcome a team of students and staff from the Law Clinic at Glasgow Caledonian University to undertake a session on Compu-ting Science related legislation. There was a focus on The Computer Misuse Act and GDPR. These laws are part of the courses that our young people fol-low if they choose Computing Science as a subject. There was a very healthy debate while the groups were considering the differ-ent examples that were based on real situations that came to court. The young people had to think like judges and give reasons for the conclusions that they reached. They also learned about the law course at GCU and the wider work which the Law Clinic undertakes. The session was co-ordinated by Mr Combe who would like to thank, on be-half of the whole school, the team who visited and we are very much looking forward to welcoming them again in the future. Co-fharpais Smaoineachadh Coimpiutaireach Bebras UK O chionn ghoirid bha a h-uile sgoilear a tha a' dèanamh Coimpiutaireachd man cuspair anns an àrd-sgoil an sàs ann an co-fharpais smaoineachadh coimpiutaireach Bebras UK. Tha an co-fharpais a' leasachadh an cuid sgilean air prògramadh agus làim-hseachadh trioblaidean. Chithear feadhainn den òigridh a rinn glè mhath le na teisteanasan aca sna dealbhan. UK Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge Recently every pupil studying Computing as a subject at high school was in-volved in the UK Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge. The competi-tion develops their programming and problem solving skills. You can see some of the most successful young people with their certificates in the pictures.

Girls from S1- S4 have been going

to pay football at Toryglen on a

fortnightly basis to play 7 a-side

games against other schools. They

thoroughly enjoy it and they have

had some good results!

Here are the girls getting ready to

go to the Christmas Cup! Many

thanks to Ms Clennell and Ms

Burgess for taking the teams.

S1 boys have been playing fort-

nightly at Toryglen and have been

enjoying that also. Many thanks to

Mr Geddes for taking the team.

Football

A huge thank you to Mr MacKay who has been busy taking the Senior Foot-

ball team this year and it has been our most successful year ever! A 9-1 league

win against St Thomas Aquinas being a highlight with Iver Campbell (S4)

scoring 5! The senior team features players from S4-S6 which is a great mix

and the team is acquitting themselves well against some more physical

teams. The midfield is particularly strong with Robbie Whyte (S4) (who was

in the Under 15 Glasgow schools select), Gillies O’Hanlon and Benji Camp-

bell making it a formidable triumvirate. Here is a photo of the team before

their Scottish Cup game away against Rothesay.

We put forward Gillies, Benji and Daniel Moran to the Glasgow Schools se-

lect and all 3 pupils got into the squad, which is a remarkable achievement.

They have played a number of games against other Regional selects, all 3

starting the games. Daniel Moran was put forward for the Scottish Schools

select and got through to the final trial but unfortunately got injured in the

trial and was not successful this time in making the final squad. Here is a

photo of the 3 superstars.

Maths

On Tuesday the 6th of November, our Advanced Higher Maths class sat the UKMT Senior Individual Challenge.

It is a multiple choice paper which takes 90 minutes to answer 25 questions. Here are 2 of this years questions.

(Paper can be found at http://www.stmc.ukmt.org.uk/ )

We recently received the results and we are delighted to inform you that Aidan Dow from S6 has won a Silver

Award scoring 67 points , which is magnificent achievement! Here he is receiving his certificate from Mr

Smith..

Maths

On the 7th of November, four of our Senior pupils went to the University of the West of Scotland to take part in

the UKMT Senior Team Maths Challenge for schools in the West of Scotland. There were 4 rounds of challeng-

ing Maths. The pupils had a fun but tiring day. Their big brains were fried the end of it! The winning team goes

forward to the National Final. Above is a photo of the pupils receiving their certificates. From left to right we

have Heather Simpson (S5), Abigail Campbell (S5), Morgan Kelly (S6) and Aidan Dow (S6)

The start of the school year for the Maths department got off to a magnificent start with the news that Harry

McGrory was successful in getting the 3 Advanced Highers he needed to get into the University of Oxford to

study Mathematics. Harry’s potential was spotted very early and discussions were under way as early as S2

about where it may eventually lead to. The Maths departments prediction came to fruition. Move over The Bra-

han Seer! We wish Harry every success, he is a top bloke as well as being a top mathematician. Pictured below

with Harry are the youthful looking dinosaurs of Gaelic Maths , Faculty Head of Maths and Science Mr MacAu-

lay and PT Pastoral Care, Mr Smith.

The Maths department welcomed back out of retirement (again!) Mr MacKillop who is with us 2 days a week

and we are also grateful to Mr Sharkey for joining the maths department. Mr Sharkey, who was head of Maths

at Whitehill Secondary for many years also came out of retirement to join us! Maths keeps you young! We are

also lucky to have Mrs Buchannan still with us, and she’ll be her till she retires!

The Maths Department would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and don’t overdo it on the Mince s.

Dùbhlan Faraday

An teirm seo ghabh àireamh de ar sgoilearan air ÀS1/2 com-pàirt ann an Dùbhlan Faraday. Am-bliadhna shiub-

hail na sgoilearan gu Acadamaidh Bearsden gus pàirt a ghabhail san turas. B’ e amas na farpais gum faigheadh

sgoilearan fuasgladh air ceist innleadaireachd airson prosbaig Sheumais Watt, a thèid fhoillseachadh sa Chèite-

an 2020. Bha na sgoilearan ag obair mar phàirt de sgioba gus pada bruthaidh a dheilbh airson sanas a chur air

ais gu NASA gun robh a’ phrosbaig air fosgladh gu h-iomlan. Dh’ionnsaich na sgoilearan mòran mu innleadair-

eachd – fiù ag ionnsachadh mar a dhèanadh iad cuairtean sreathach is co-shìnte. Ged nach do rinn sinn an

gnothach air an duais, bha latha mìorbhaileach aig na sgoilearan ag ionnsachadh agus a’ cur sgilean eadar-

dhealaichte an gnìomh ann an co-theacsaichean fìor-bheatha.

Faraday Challenge

This term a number of our s1/2 pupils participated in the Faraday Challenge. This year pupils travelled to

Bearsden Academy to take part in this trip. The aim of the completion was for pupils to solve an engineering

problem for the James Watt telescope, which will be launched in May 2020. Pupils worked as part of a team to

design a pressure pad to send a signal back to NASA that the telescope had fully opened. Pupils learned lots

about engineering – even learning how to make series and parallel circuits. Although we missed out on claim-

ing the trophy, pupils had a fantastic day learning and applying different skills in real life contexts.

Farpais Dèideig 3D

San t-seisean seo bha sinn fortanach gun d’ fhuair sinn clò-bhualadair 3D air iasad bho STEM ann an Glaschu.

Bha sgoilearan ÀS1/2 ag obair air àireamh de dhùbhlain modailidh 3D, a’ gabhail a-steach: diobardain, gearra-

dairean bhriosgaidean agus caractaran tàileisg. Dh’ionnsaich na sgoilearan cleachdadh air innliche Autodesk

airson an dealbhaidhean a mhodaileadh ann an 3D – bha cuid de na sgoilearan a bha fiù ’s ag obair air am

pròiseactan aig an taigh. Thugadh dùbhlan do na sgoilearan dèideag clò-bhuailte 3D a dheilbh a bha a’ riochda-

chadh na coimhearsnachd sgoile aca. Bidh cuid de ar sgoilearan a’ taisbeanadh agus a’ crochadh an dèideig air

a’ chraoibh Nollaige ann an Seòmraichean a’ Bhaile.

3D Bauble Competition

This session we have been lucky to have had a 3D Printer on loan from STEM Glasgow. Our s1/2 pupils were

working on a number of 3d modelling challenges including: Spinning tops, Cookie cutters and chess pieces.

Pupils learned how to use Autodesk inventor to model their designs in 3D - some of our pupils even worked on

their projects at home. Pupils were challenged to design a 3D printed bauble which represented their school

community. Some of our pupils will be presenting and hanging their bauble on the Christmas tree at the City

Chambers.

Iomairt

Fhuair cuid de na sgoilearan ann an ÀS1 briseadh-dùil mòr agus an clò-bhualadair 3D a’ fàgail na roinne againn

aig an Nollaig – dhealbhaich iad àireamh de dhèideagan Nollaig airson an reic aig Fèill na Nollaige. Chruthaich

na sgoilearan measgachadh de dhealbhaidhean seusanail a’ cleachdadh Serif Draw agus gheàrr iad a-mach iad

sin le gearradair leusair na sgoile. Tha na sgoilearan air a dhol air adhart a thogail còrr air £350 a dh’ionnsaigh

maoineachadh airson clò-bhualadair 3D dhuinn fhìn.

Enterprise

Some of our pupils from s1 were really disappointed with the 3D printer leaving the department at Christmas –

they designed a number of Christmas baubles to sell at the Christmas Fayre. Pupils came up with a variety of

seasonal designs using Serif Draw and cut these out using our schools laser cutter. Pupils have gone on to raise

over £350 towards raising funds to buy a 3D printer of our own.

tish Music Centre. The workshop was inspiring and thought-provoking, and Adam gave our young composers

an insight into the different approaches to his own compositions.

Consairt Nollaig

This year our school Christmas Concert returned to its school venue. Although it will never have the ambiance

of Renfield St Stephen’s Church, the quality of the sound production rose significantly with the tremendous

efforts of our amazing technician, Colin … ably assisted by our former pupils, Zach Ronan and Moilidh NicGri-

ogair. Over sixty pupils participated in this Christmas celebration in what was a outstanding demonstration of

the talents of our young people and the collaboration of the highly skilled and committed members of the Mu-

sic Department.

celebration in the University of Strathclyde Technology and Innovation Centre events.

Art

Tha sgoillearan air a bhi ag obair gu cruaidh ann an Ealain am bliadhna. Co-fharpaisean, a' togail is a' tarraing dealbhan is a leasachadh sgillean 3T againn. The pupils have been busy in Art and Design this term. Competitions, taking photos and drawing, and honing our 3D skills too.

History, RME and Art The History, RME and Art Departments worked together, and conducted an IDL project with S3, as part of In-terfaith week. The theme was Connecting Generations, and pupils were tasked with creating an artwork, poem, video, piece of writing, musing, song or drama relating to this topic. The departments came together at very short notice to plan what was to become artwork with a written ele-ment. Three groups of S3 pupils put their heads together to develop ideas around the subject and work each of the departments and during lunchtimes to produce three highly original ideas. The hard work of pupils and staff was well rewarded with winning 1st and 2nd prize and the groups were invit-ed to Inverness to receive their prizes. As, this was such an arduous journey, a representative from Interfaith Scotland presented the two winning groups with their certificates and prizes at their S3 assembly.

Geography

Higher Geography pupils at Kindrogan Field Studies Centre in Perthshire carrying out a river study. They spent 3 hours measuring width, depth, speed, bedload size and wetted perimeter at 10 sites along the river. Cold work but they did really well and gathered a lot of data which they can use for their Higher assignment. Outdoor learning at its best!

Physical Education

The PE Department have been run ragged (haha) again this year, with lots happening since August. Here are some of our highlights: Congratulations to the S3/4 Netball Team for winning the Glasgow Schools Premier Division Netball Tourna-ment.

The girls put a fantastic display of netball together in the 4 group games. Each game was 20 minutes long and with only one substitution allowed the girls knew it was going to be a tough day physically and mentally.

Considering this is a brand new S3/4 team the girls played exceptionally well. Due to the quality of players in the team there were some positional changes, with players playing new positions never experienced before. This was a challenge that the team relished and it worked out exceptionally well in all 4 games.

This is the first time the school has won the S3/4 Netball tournament and we faced the best quality of teams for some years; Holyrood S3 team, who were Scottish Gold cup semi-finalists last year and Hyndland S3/4 team, who have a number or club and district level players in their starting 7; this made for some very competitive games. SGG came out on top with a narrow win in the last game to take home the medals. Well done girls, what a fantastic achievement!

The Winning Team:

Leena Jebbari

Eilidh Michie

Ceitidh MacDonald

Annabel MacDonald

Abbey Hart

Kerry Stewart

Seona MacLeod

Millie Soutar

Congratulations to Patrick Connor (S4) who won a Silver medal in the Glasgow Schools Swimming Champion-ships. Patrick performed exceptionally well to qualify for the final, especially as there were 3 heats in the trials with the top 6 fastest times qualifying for the finals. In the final, Patrick faced extremely tough opposition with an international swimmer in the field but he performed fantastically to secure the silver medal. Congratula-tions, Patrick!

Physical Education contd.

What a fantastic result from Wednesday 3rd October 2018! Our Senior boys team came away with Silver medals at the Scottish Schools Road Race. These are the first medals for the school at this event and a massive achieve-ment for our small school on the national stage.

Andrew Carey was first home from the school, having worked his way through the field on laps 2 and 3. Daniel Moran and Robaidh Whyte both put in incredible performances to finish in the top 40. Andrew, Daniel and Robaidh all paced very well and finished within 15 seconds of each other and were strongly backed up by David Comerford, who finished in the top 55. David worked hard and increased his speed each lap to ensure the team medals were secured.

Congratulations to our 4 athletes on their magnificent achievement.

In other exciting news, construction has started on our new Sports Hall. This is a really exciting time for the department (and the school!) and will allow us to do even more with the young people at Sgoil Ghàidhlig Ghlaschu.

Well done to each and every young person who has been involved in school sport since August; we’re sure that 2019 will be even better!
