this coffee comes to us via the costa rica cup of excellence competition, where farmer luis pablo bonilla solis placed 5th amongst his peers for coffee produced at la loma. la loma is located in the llano bonito microregion of tarrazu. luis has been farming la loma for the past 12 years, and takes pride in maintaining a healthy and beautiful farm. from luis: “each year our family works in nutrition to give the nutrients that the plants really need based on foliar and soil analysis... the good nutrition of the plant produces high quality crops and good results in the cup”, leading to “healthy plantations, stability in quality year by year and a beautiful coffee farm.” this coffee was harvested by 15 year veteran pickers, and was processed at the don mayo mill using a black honey method. it is grown at 1850 - 2000 meters, and is of the catuai variety. coffee is a family affair at one line coffee, we specialize in sourcing and roasting seasonal, single farm coffees in an ethical and sustainable way. we believe in giving credit to a farmer, and work hard to match their passion when we roast. visit us at onelinecoffee.com costa rica la loma limited release | cup of excellence #5 just a crazy conglomeration of fruit and floral. strawberry jam, honeysuckle, and jasmine on the nose, with fig and maple sugar coming out with the addition of water. a super juicy cup, with complex layering of a multitude of fruits, best described as watermelon jolly rancher candy.
