Listening and Note-taking: 5Rs

1. Record – write down what you think is important

2. Reduce – summarize the record column into manageable text

3. Recite – look only at your notes in the reduce column, and try to remember the important ideas that your notes summarize

4. Review – review your notes several times in between the lecture and the test

5. Reflect – add personal reflections and thoughts to make what you learned part of what know
