https://www.net-aware.org.uk/ This is a very useful website address for all parents who want to understand more about the various social medias around at the moment. The site is run by NSPCC. Thank you to our PSHE coordinator, Mrs Mitchell, for recommending this.

Queen’s 90th Birthday As you will no doubt be aware, the Queen celebrated her 90th birthday yesterday and we wanted to join in wishing her majesty a very happy birthday. Her time on the throne has been remarkable and I think she is an amazing example of liveliness at such a good age. In school we wore Red White and Blue, collected money for Barnardos which is one of her chosen charities and sang her special song.

Pictured right is our new Attendance Grand Prix chart. Congratulations to J2 whose teachers, Mrs Edge and Mrs Mitchell are sitting proudly astride their shiny blue car Some classes are a way off our target of 97% so we need some really good weeks’ attendances to get them where they should be.

Red White and Blue Day resulted in £224 for Barnardo’s which is one of the Queen’s chosen charities. We held a special assembly in school and sang the National Anthem too. We wish the Queen a very Happy Birthday.

School uniform at LJS and Castlefields is now half price. Uniform can be used into the Autumn Term and beyond.

Mrs Castle has been at it again, this time she has created paper vegetables to go on a display. They look good enough to eat to be honest, especially the lettuce and cucumber.

Football Match v Withinfields Yesterday the school’s football team played against Withinfields at their school. The result of the game was a 2-1 defeat sadly, but the team played really well..

Cheerleading Starts This week the first of our new cheerleading sessions began at Longroyde. We are always looking to put on activities which the children find exciting and different and Mrs Clarke has done a really good job here. We listen to what children suggest through school council and class discussions too. If there is anything you would like us to put on please let us know and we will try our best.

Junk Jewellery Family Learning Mrs Clarke has booked Free family Learning starting on Tuesday 26th April for three weeks. Come along and make felt brooches, rolling paper beads or turn old jewellery into new unique pieces which can be ideal for gifts. See the slip in your classroom or speak to Mrs Clarke if you are interested. Everyone is welcome.
