Sports Coaching Many of our children will be delighted to learn that the sports coaches will be back after half term. This was always the intention when we postponed the sessions until after half term. The weather was simply top unkind to us and it became too difficult to find space for the sessions when the rain was too much.

If anyone is unable to make the Y5 Whitby information evening information will be available but please try to attend if you can.

Lesson Observations This week the Editor has been watching staff teaching classes. It has been a real privilege to see the hard work that goes into a great lesson and there have been several of these. I know from the children’s faces and the progress they have made in lessons that they are enjoying and benefitting from this.

Each child needs a water bottle in school please. We have limited facilities to fill these in school so if you can send them full each day it really helps.

Winter is Warmest

Winter is the warmest season

Oh, you say, you want one reason?

It’s warm when the snow goes higher and higher

It is as if you’re bundled up inside.

When it is storming, when it is raining

I stay in my house without complaining.

When I’m unzipping my jacket

I’m tearing open a hot cocoa packet.

The excitement is building…. For our two residential visits which take place in the summer term. Year 5 are talking about their forthcoming visit to Whitby and Year 6 have been discussing PGL and which activities they fancy doing when they are there. We should say a really big thank you to staff organising these visits as they are not as common as they were in many schools and it a very important part of school life which we are very keen to keep going.
