Section 2: Course Objectives1. Course Behavioral Objective: On completion of this course, the students will be able to:1.1 Explain the concepts and theories of nursing care management for children with psychosocial illnesses.1.2 Develop a nursing care plan and apply appropriate nursing care management for children and adolescents with acute and chronic health problems in selected scenarios utilizing the nursing process with the emphasis on family collaboration.1.3 Analyze and explain children and adolescents with acute and chronic health problems and select appropriate nursing care management.

1.4 Develop a nursing care plan of children and adolescents affected with infectious diseases in selected scenarios by utilizing nursing process with the emphasis on collaboration of family members.

1.5 Present a role-play reflecting the real-life scenarios of children and adolescents affected with infectious diseases.

1.6 Develop a nursing care plan of children and adolescents with psychological problems and utilize nursing process in selected scenarios with emphasis on family collaboration.1.7 Develop a nursing care plan of children and adolescents affected with genetic health problems in selective scenarios and utilize nursing process with emphasis on caring and family collaboration.

2. Objective of Course Development or Course Improvement:

To better understand the nursing care managements of children and adolescents with acute and chronic health problems and the preparation of its implementation in the clinical practice in order to prepare students for their greater task in rendering service to their clients/patients.

Section 3: Course Description and Implementation 1. Course Description Nursing care management specifically for children and adolescents with acute and chronic health problems, using the nursing process with emphasis on caring and family participation, within legal limitations and professional code of ethics in order to maintain, promote and protect the physical, psychological, social and spiritual health of individuals, groups, families and communities. 2. Section 7: Course Evaluation and Improvement1. Evaluation Strategies of Course Effectiveness by Students

Students will evaluate the questionnaires about the course content and method of teaching at the end of the semester.

2. Teaching Evaluation Strategies Students will evaluate the instructors knowledge, teaching styles, methods and techniques using the questionnaires at the end of the semester.

3. Teaching Improvement Training programs for instructors are provided every semester to respond the need and improvement of teaching strategies.

Semester II Academic Year 2012

Guidelines for the Case Study Presentation

Objectives: Upon completion of the nursing assessment, gathering data and nursing intervention, the students will be able to:1. Know the underlying cause and pathologic mechanism of the case study including the nature and severity of the case.

2. Identify priority nursing diagnosis and nursing interventions.3. Provide information to other students who are having patients that have related disease conditions to serve as reference for an improved nursing care.4. Work competently and harmoniously as a team.

Procedures:1. Divide the class into 9 groups with 10 members each group.

2. Each group should plan and apply the concepts learn in the theory with the emphasis on caring and using the nursing process.

3. Consultation regarding the Case Study Presentation will start on December 2,2012.4. Case Study Presentation will be on February 10, 2013 with the hardcopy and softcopy output.5. Case Study Presentation output should be written in an A4 size paper.
