Fourteenth Sunday of Ordinary Time ~ July 5, 2020
A Final Message from the Desks of Father Willie and Father Victor…
On this final weekend of our assignment in Saint Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Kittanning and in Saint Mary, Mother of God Parish, Yatesboro, we want to express, once again, our heartfelt gratitude to all who have worked and served with us, grown in faith with us, and prayed with us.
As you prepare to welcome Father Ron Maquiñana as your new pastor and we prepare to move on to our new appointments, let us all remember that in the example of Mary, out heavenly mother, we learn how important it is to hope in God’s care and trust in His abundant generosity and mercy at all times. In Mary, our patroness, we find consolation and comfort. Whether it be in times of pandemic, or in times of transition, Mary inspires us to move forward with confidence and courage.
May each of you have an enjoyable and safe this Independence Day weekend and may we never forget to thank God for the freedoms and liberties we enjoy. We remember all who have served and those who currently serve our nation to build unity and peace.
May God bless you all, and again, thanks so much! - Father Willie and Father Victor
You are cordially invited…
All are invited to join us this weekend, July 4-5 to bid Farewell and Best Wishes to Father Victor Baguna and Father Willie Lechnar as they prepare to begin
their new pastoral appointments on Wednesday, July 8.
Father Willie and Father Victor will concelebrate all four Masses and will be available in the Churches after the 4:00 PM Mass in Kittanning and after the 6:00 PM Mass in Yatesboro on Saturday, July 4 and after the 9:00 AM Mass in Kittanning and after the 11:00 AM Mass in Yatesboro on Sunday, July 5.
With Covid-19 protocols and guidelines, all will need to keep appropriate “social distance” and to wear masks when saying “Goodbye!” and “Thank you!”
You are also invited to join us…
All are also invited to join in welcoming our new pastor, Father Ron Maquiñana next weekend, July 11-12, after all Masses.
Immediately following all four Masses, Father Ron will be available in the Churches after the 4:00 PM Mass in Kittanning and after the 6:00 PM Mass in Yatesboro on Saturday, July 11 and after the 9:00 AM Mass in Kittanning and
after the 11:00 AM Mass in Yatesboro on Sunday, July 12.
Again, with Covid-19 protocols and guidelines, all will need to keep appropriate “social distance” and to wear masks when saying “Welcome!” to Father Ron and
to wish him well in his new role in our parish communities.

The flesh is our old self of yesterday and
the one we left behind in baptism. It is the
self of doubts and fears, sin and error,
reluctance, untamed passion, and errors
in judgment. It is also the self of missed
opportunities and roads untraveled.
Although we were baptized many years
ago, every day is another day to live, not
according to the flesh of yesterday with its
regrets and misgivings, but rather to live the
life of the spirit of today and tomorrow. The
burdens of our personal baggage and of life
itself can weigh us down. The love of Jesus
Christ and the life of the spirit can pick us
up, refresh us, and provide us with the hope
for new opportunities and discoveries.
Because we have been baptized in Christ,
we need not be anxious about what we did
or did not do yesterday or anxious about
what will come tomorrow. We need only to
seek out the love that is before us, around
us, and in us and learn.
