Disciples in MissionDisciples in MissionDisciples in MissionDisciples in Mission We hear today of Jesus’ gift to us and his commission: "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you." He was speaking to his apostles, who were fearfully gathered behind a locked door, but his message extends to each of us, here and now. We are the ones Jesus spoke of when he said: “Blessed are those who have not seen but believe.” We are to be his instruments of mercy and peace. Bring that mercy and peace to your family, neighborhood, school and workplace this week. Notice the difference it makes to others!

Our Book Club selected Hope, Pray and Don’t Worry, True Stories of Padre Pio to read and share in discussion.
"Pray, Hope, and Don't Worry: True Stories of Padre Pio Book One" is a glimpse into the life and spirituality of St. Pio of Pietrelcina, who has often been called "The greatest mystic of the 20th Century." Forty individuals, all who either met Padre Pio personally or attended his Mass, were interviewed for this book. The author and her husband, Deacon Ron Allen, have traveled to many parts of the United States in order to record the personal testimonies of Padre Pio's friends from near and far.”
If you are interested in joining the Book Club, please contact the Parish Office to sign up. We have a limited number of copies of the book available at our office for purchase at a discounted rate of $15.50.

Annual Mother’s Day Rose for Life Drive at St. Francis of Assisi
The Annual Mother’s Day Rose for Life Drive will take place after all the Masses on Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12. The cost of the roses has gone up over the years, but we are still just asking for a donation of $1.00 for each silk rose – more if you can! All proceeds to benefit the educational and lobbying efforts of Massachusetts Citizens for Life to defend the Right to Life of the unborn, the disabled and the elderly.
