DISCOVER YOUR VOICE: THE 3 BIRTH-GIFTSBirth-Gift No. 1 - Freedom to choose
Our past, our genes, the way others have treated us — these influence us but don’t determine us.
Between stimulus and response there is a space where we choose our response. In our choices lie growth and our happiness.

BIRTH-GIFT NO. 2: LAWS OF NATURE
Universal, timeless, self-evident Natural laws and natural rights follow from the nature
of man and the world; the right to defend ourselves. The ability to make moral judgments, the capacity to
know good and evil Dictate the consequences of our behavior. Positive consequences come from principles of fairness,
kindness, respect, honesty, integrity, service and contribution.

BUILDING YOUR CAPACITIES IN EACH DIMENSION
1. Vision – being able to see a future in your mind’s eye before it materialises in the flesh
2. Discipline – to actually make things happen. To be disciplined means to accept reality, being totally immersed in the facts and then move from there.
3. Passion- the unrelenting drive which comes from the heart. - People with passion are highly motivated because they believe that the best way to predict the future is to take part in shaping it.
4. Conscience – your moral sense of what is right and what is wrong; encourages people to sacrifice something good in order to obtain something better.

FINDING YOUR VOICE IN EACH DIMENSION Ask these questions:
What need do I sense in my family, in my community or in the organization I work for?
What talent do I possess which, if properly disciplined and applied would keep that specific need?
Does the opportunity to meet that need tap into the things I feel most passionate about?
Does my conscience allow me to take action in this way and become intensely involved?
