beautification, maintenance, exhibitions to be arranged, people to be contacted, details to be fine tuned... the list was never ending!

And finally, the Day was almost here - on the evening of the th27 of December, 2015, the NAAC peer team arrived. The

team comprised three distinguished gentlemen from the Higher Education Community - Prof. Mohd. Muzammil, Vice Chancellor, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Agra was the chairman of the NAAC Peer team. Prof. M. Krishnaiah, Coordinator, UGC- SVU centre for MST Radar Applications & Coordinator, M.Sc Electronics, Sri Venkateshwara University, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh was the Member Coordinator. swing and the preparation of the report requires precision and skill. As usual, the Pauline family was more than up to the task and a soft copy of the SSR was uploaded on the UGC site, followed by three hard copies that were sent by post in May 2015.

It was a sort of anti-climax-for what followed was months of interminable waiting with nothing more than an acknowledgement of receipt from the UGC. Doubt and despair were slowly raising their heads when one fine December morning, it was hastily confirmed - the NAAC

th th thPeer Team would visit the College on the 28 , 29 and 30 of December 2015.

Once again, the Pauline family was plunged into a frenzy of activity - files and records to be updated, last minute

member of the Peer team. From the moment they arrived, it was business for them as they huddled into discussions with the NAAC convenor and the IQAC coordinator and finalized their itinerary.

The NAAC Peer team arrived at the college on the morning thof the 28 to a rousing reception that included the students'

cheers and a salute from the College NCC Team. They wasted no time in starting their job - the meetings and presentations of the Principal and the IQAC were carried out in quick succession. This was followed by a quick look at an exhibition arranged to highlight and showcase the milestones and achievements of the College and its various clubs and cells. Over the three day visit, the peer members displayed sharpness, a power of observation and an attention to detail. They quietly went about their business -

inspecting the facilities, verifying claims, checking records, noting achievements, visit ing offices, departments, research facilities and laboratories and interacting with all the stakeholders - the management, staff, students, parents and alumnae. They also interacted with the patron of the College, Rt. Rev. Dr. Francis Kallarakkal, and the Governing

Council. The peer team was very much impressed by the cultural extravaganza put up by the students and they congratulated the students on their brilliant performance.

Gentlemen to the core, the team were a s tudy in professionalism and efficiency. At the exit meeting on the third day, they remarked that they were impressed by the college's performance and potential, and they were

especially touched by the warmth of the Pauline family.

What followed was a long wait - impressed team or not, the proof of the pudding lay in the grading! And a wonderful pudding it turned out to be in January 2016, it was declared on the UGC website that St. Paul's had come through in flying colours – an 'A' grade with a score of 3.14! The campus was in a celebratory mood - with congratulations pouring in and the Pauline family patting itself on the back!

But as they say, the reward for a job well done is the opportunity to do more. We at St. Paul's have many more mountains to conquer, many more unheard melodies to hear and our quest for excellence continues, in this life lived nobly…
