STEM FUNDRAISER Folly Quarter will be hosting a fundraising night at Yogi Castle in Ellicott City, MD (10132 Baltimore National Pike) on Thursday September 24th in support of our STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) programs. The fundraiser runs from the time school gets out until 10pm. Yogi Castle is generously donating 25% of the proceeds to benefit FQMS's STEM organizations. Please consider joining us for a frozen treat as a family or just pop in for a pick-me-up on the way to or from soccer, lacrosse, or piano practice! If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Capurso ([email protected]) or Ms. Copanic ([email protected])! FINE ARTS ADVISORY COUNCIL FQMS is looking for a parent advocate for the visual arts. We need interested, supportive, actively engaged parents to advocate for the visual arts programs. The Fine Arts Advisory Council - the county's formally identified fine arts advocacy group - has requested that each school identify a parent to provide feedback, support and assist in the dissemination of information regarding issues vital to our program: specifically this year with regard to 5th grade articulation and middle school scheduling. If you are interested, please contact the art teacher, Mrs. Fauth at 410-313-1506. Thank you for your consideration.

We are off to a great (and colorful) start to our No-Hassle Fundraiser. Information and brightly colored envelopes were available at Back-to-School Night last Thursday and we are already seeing the donations come in! Thank you to all who have

donated. So far, we have collected $1,710 in donations that came in with PTA membership applications, $1,105.00 through the on-line pay pal account and another $535 in envelope contributions. That is a grand total of $3,350.00!! Our goal is $12,000 - so please keep those donations coming. It was wonderful to see so many parents at Back to School night! Thanks so much to those who joined the PTA while they were there! We still need your support, though. So far, only 20% of our families have sent in their membership forms or joined online. Please go to our website www.follyquarterpta.org to print out a form, or join online. FQMS PTA thanks River Hill Nursery and Jenny's Market. Please support these local businesses. Yipeee! The Box Top and Ink Cartridge Recycle bins are overflowing. Thank you for your contribution and keep them coming!! VOLUNTEER TRAINING CERTIFICATE REQUIRED FOR ALL VOLUNTEERS AT SCHOOL In order to create a consistent process for training parent volunteers on issues of confidentiality, we’ve developed a brief training module and certificate of completion. Both the module and certificate are located here: http://www.hcpss.org/parents/volunteer-information/ Please complete the training and submit your printed certificate of completion to the school before volunteering.
