We changed the common concept that handicapped can not be self dependent. We made provide them proper honor in society. We attached them in the main stream of society. We realized them that disable person can do every thing. Due to DFC campaign society has became ready to provide them livelihood resources. We encouraged them to live a better life through become self dependent.

Why the idea was selected…1. These people are always being

neglected not only by society but also by family.

2. Govt. schemes have been running only on papers for their well being.

3. They are being insulted and exploited by the society.

4. The confidence of these people has disappeared some where due to condemnable social behavior with them.

Bhojpur village is situated on the border of Shahjahanpur - Bareily districts approx 44 km from dist. Headquarter. The village lakes awareness, educational infrastructure & a majority of population is extremely poor depending on farming & laboring. Villagers have deep rooted beliefs in superstit ions, harmful customs, traditions. They are also very habitual of gambling, wine and other type of intoxications. At the heart place of village there is a wine shop. People usually spend their money on gambling and drinking. Other problems are also there like exploitation of weaker sections, health and hygiene etc. Now there was a challenge to focus on the major problem of village. Almost all other problems were common and government has also been running different programs to remove them accept one problem and that is the condition of disable / handicapped persons. Therefore the students after their brain storming selected to work on this problem.

Mr. Asha RamMr. Asha Ram, a handicapped was used, a handicapped was used to run a stall of edible materials nearto run a stall of edible materials near S.B.S. Bhojpur. One day studentsS.B.S. Bhojpur. Students have decided to change the condition of disabled person of their village. For it they formed a solid strategy. People’s support was must. Along with it there was the need of awareness programs. Disabler's establishment was also necessary. For establishment they needed financial support.

Door to door survey of disabled person was done by DEC team. Brain storming was done. Team has sent in every house of the village a two line note to get the support of parents through the students of SBS. A rally having the slogans, chart papers, banners etc was organized.

4 teams having each 6 four students were formed. Leader has distributed each team their work like slogan writing, poster making, networking, finalization of route map etc.

@ 2 street plays were played on public places of village. Along with entertainment students had passed some massages in the favour of disables.

@ They have collected donations from the villagers for well being of disables.

@ The team arrange a caliper for a disabled who was handicapped from his one leg.

18th Sept 2012 * Survey of disables in the village.* Meeting with Gram Panchayat* Site visit where action was planned* Brainstorming done on the survey results.

19th Sept 2012* A rally was taken out in the village to mobilize the community & to create awareness* Rally passed through the streets of village with slogans & posters. Students were marching & Community members were also praised their ideas. * Street plays were also played after the rally and the team members have distributed the pamphlets among the villagers to spread awareness and to sensitize the people.

20th Sept 2012* Students visited every house of the village with donation boxes and collected sufficient amount. * Each and every villager admired this charity work of DFC team.

21th Sept 2012* A list was prepared of those material which were to be purchased from market for the employment /establishment of disables.* Team leader & mentor teacher went market to buy materials from donation money. They bought “kirana shop materials, domestic pots, caps, shawls, bag, copies some other things.

22nd Sept 2012A huge public meeting was organized in the village in which all the public representatives of nearest area were invited along with common people. In the presence of District Panchayat Member “Mr. Kumud Gangwar” D.F.C. team provided kirana shop material to Mr. Asha Ram & Mrs. Ram Beti. Domestic pots were for sell were provided to Miss Meena Devi. Shawls were gifted to Mr. Sarvesh and Mr. Ramasre . Mr. Dev Narayan & Mr. Ashok were honoured by caps. A school bag with learning materials was gifted to a children Mr Sumit.

Through different activities it was communicated them that their can earn name and respect only through become self dependent.

Community support to campaign was RAM BAAN for us.

Assurance of cooperation in future by public representatives was an extra advantage.

Campaign in Future:The Zila Panchayat Member Mr. Kumud Gangwar visited

the village & announced that he will try to provide them

Govt. loan, Free travel certificate & Viklang pension.

Sarpanch has promised to provide them Indra Awas. Village community has assured that in future disables’ safety will be

their responsibility. DFC team will make pressure time to time for the fulfilling of above

promises.
