BAB I
PENDAHULUAN
1.1 Latar Belakang
HEC-RAS merupakan program aplikasi untuk
memodelkan aliran di sungai, River Analysis System
(RAS), yang dibuat oleh Hydrologic Engineering
Center (HEC) yang merupakan satu divisi di dalam
Institute for Water Resources (IWR), dibawah US Army
Corps of Engineers (USACE). HEC-RAS merupakan model
satu dimensi aliran permanen maupun tak permanen
(steady and unsteady one-dimensional flow model).
HEC-RAS mampu memperhitungkan pengaruh berbagai
hambatan aliran, seperti jembatan (bridges), gorong-
gorong (culverts), bendung (weirs), ataupun hambatan di
bantaran sungai. Program HEC-RAS dirancang untuk
dipakai pada permasalahan pengelolaan bantaran
sungai dan penetapan asuransi risiko banjir
berkenaan dengan penetapan bantaran sungai dan
dataran banjir. Program HEC-RAS dapat pula dipakai
untuk perkiraan perubahan muka air akibat perbaikan
alur atau pembangunan tanggul.
1.2 Rumusan Masalah
Dari latar belakang di atas, maka rumusan masalah
yang dapat dikemukakan yaitu :

tujuannya yaitu untuk:

dalam HEC-RAS
1.3.2 Mengetahui langkah pengerjaan dalam
penggunaan HEC-RAS
1.3.3 Mengetahui cara pemodelan dengan menggunakan
HEC-RAS
BAB II
LANDASAN TEORI
2.1 Pengertian HEC-RAS
HEC-RAS merupakan program aplikasi untuk
memodelkan aliran di sungai, River Analysis System
(RAS), yang dibuat oleh Hydrologic Engineering
Center (HEC) yang merupakan satu divisi di dalam
Institute for Water Resources (IWR), dibawah US
Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). HEC-RAS merupakan

model satu dimensi aliran permanen maupun tak
permanen (steady and unsteady one-dimensional flow model).
HEC-RAS versi terbaru saat ini, Versi 4.1, beredar
sejak Januari 2010.
HEC-RAS memiliki empat komponen model satu
dimensi yaitu hitungan profil muka air aliran
permanen, simulasi aliran tak permanen, hitungan
transpor sedimen, dan hitungan kualitas air.
Satu elemen penting dalam HEC-RAS adalah
keempat komponen tersebut memakai data geometri
yang sama, routine hitungan hidraulika yang sama,
serta beberapa fitur desain hidraulik yang dapat
diakses setelah hitungan profil muka air berhasil
dilakukan. HEC-RAS merupakan program aplikasi yang
mengintegrasikan fitur graphical user interface,
analisis hidraulik, manajemen dan penyimpanan
data, grafik, serta pelaporan.
2.2 Langkah-langkah Pengerjaan Aplikasi HEC-RAS
Langkah pertama untuk memulai HEC-RAS, tentu
saja software HEC-RAS di unduh terlebih dulu,
kemudian menginstall pada komputer. Berikut
merupakan urutan dalam pengerjaan aplikasi HEC-
RAS.
1. Starting HEC-RAS

Setelah kita menginstall HEC-RAS, biasanya
icon HEC-RAS akan muncul di start menu, untuk
memulai menggunakan HEC-RAS, silahkan klik icon
“HEC-RAS” tersebut..dan akan muncul tampilan
awal seperti dibawah ini
Untuk mulai pekerjaan HEC-RAS (istilah di
HEC-RAS adalah Project), klik “File”, lalu “New
Project”, kemudian simpan Project dengan nama
sesuai kebutuhan pada direktori atau folder yg
diinginkan.
2. Mengisi Geometri Data
Langkah selanjutnya adalah membuat dan
mengisi geometri data. Pembuatan geometri data
dengan cara klik tool bar “Edit/Enter Geometric
Data” dari tampilan awal HEC-RAS Geometric
Data memiliki tampilan seperti berikut.

Setelah muncul tampilan Geometric Data,
langkah selanjutnya adalah membuat lay out
sungai dengan cara klik tool bar “River Reach”
dari tampilan Geometric Data , kemudian kita
dapat mulai menggambar lay out sungai yang
diinginkan, dan kemudian beri nama River dan
Reach. Arah aliran saluran adalah sesuai dengan
arah penggambaran. Jika menggambar lay out
sungai dari kiri ke kanan, berarti bagian hulu
ada di sebelah kiri, sedangkan bagian hilir
adalah sebelah kanan.. Setelah lay out sungai
selesai dibuat kita dapat langsung memasukkan
data potongan melintang (cross section) sungai
dengan cara klik icon “Cross Section” pada

tampilan Geometric Data , sehingga
selanjutnya akan muncul tampilan seperti dibawah
ini.
Untuk memasukkan data-data potongan
melintang, kita dapat klik “Option” lalu “Add a
New Cross Section”. Kemudian kita akan diminta
untuk memasukkan nomor stationing (Sta) atau
nomor patok. Untuk penomoran patok, kita hanya
diperbolehkan memasukkan angka, dimana angka
terkecil adalah nomor patok (Sta) yang paling
dekat dengan muara.
Setelah memasukan nomor patok, kita dapat
langsung memasukan data potongan melintang
(biasanya didapatkan dari pengukuran topografi),
pada bagian kiri tampilan Cross Section Data.

Data terdapat dua buah kolom, yaitu “Station”
dan “Elevation”. Station adalah jarak pias
potongan melintang (sumbu X), sedangkan
Elevation adalah elevasi pias potongan melintang
(sumbu Y). Selain data Station dan Elevation
yang ada di bagian kiri tampilan Cross Section
Data, kita juga harus memasukan “Downstream
Reach Length” atau jarak antar potongan
melintang yang kini sedang dibuat dengan
potongan melintang dihilirnya, angka Manning,
dan Main Channel Bank Station (sumbu X untuk
tebing kiri dan tebing kanan), yang berada pada
bagian tengah tampilan Cross Section Data. Pada
Reach Length, kita harus memasukkan data berupa
jarak pada LOB (Left Over Bank) atau tebing
kiri, Channel atau bagian tengah, dan ROB (Right
Over Bank). Angka Manning dimasukkan berdasarkan
kekasaran material dinding saluran, sedangkan
data Bank Stationing dimasukan berdasarkan
tebing yang ada pada data potongan melintang.
Setelah semua geometri data selesai dimasukkan,
kemudian save dengan cara seperti menyimpan file
biasa, yaitu dengan klik “File” lalu “Save
Geometric Data As”.
3. Memasukkan Data Aliran

Langkah selanjutnya adalah memasukan data
aliran. Sebelum memasukan data aliran, kita
harus memastikan terlebih dahulu jenis aliran
yang akan disimulasi. Data aliran terdiri dari 2
jenis aliran, yaitu :
a. Aliran Steady
Jika kita akan menggunakan aliran steady
(parameter aliran yang tidak berubah terhadap
waktu), klik icon “Enter/Edit Steady Flow
Data” yang ada di tampilan awal HEC-RAS,
sehingga selanjutnya akan muncul tampilan
seperti dibawah ini.

Setelah muncul tampilan Steady Flow Data,
masukan debit puncak pada kolom PF, dan
diasumsikan bahwa debit yang terjadi
merupakan aliran yang konstan. Selain itu,
kita harus memasukan Boundary Condition,
dengan cara klik pilihan tool bar “Reach
Boundary Condition” yang terletak di bagian
atas tampilan Steady Flow Data. Pada Boundary
Condition, kita dapat memasukan data yang ada
di hulu maupun di hilir sungai dengan cara
mengklik salah satu icon “Known W.S.,
Critical Depth, Normal Depth, dan Rating
Curve”. Tentunya data yang dimasukan haruslah
sesuai dengan kondisi yang ada dan pada
kondisi puncak. Jika kita memilih Known W.S.
berarti kita mengetahui muka air di hilir
saluran, jika kita memilih Critical Depth
berarti kita mengasumsikan bahwa di hilir
saluran akan terjadi muka air kritis,
sedangkan jika kita memilih Normal Depth,
biasanya kita akan diminta untuk memasukan
kemiringan dasar saluran (slope), dan jika
kita memilih rating curve, berarti kita sudah
memiliki data elevasi vs debit, yang biasanya
terdapat di bendung.
b. Aliran Unsteady

Jika aliran yang kita miliki merupakan aliran
unsteady (parameter aliran yang berubah
terhadap waktu), berarti kita sebaiknya
menganalisis aliran secara unsteady. Untuk
memasukan data aliran, kemudian klik icon
“Edit/Enter Unsteady Flow Data” ( )
sehingga akan muncul tampilan seperti dibawah
ini.
Pada tab Boundary Condition, kita dapat
memasukan data-data kondisi batas yang kita
miliki, dimana itemnya hampir sama dengan
kondisi batas pada aliran steady. Hanya saja,
data yang dimasukan pada Boundary Condition

pada aliran unsteady bukan hanya pada kondisi
puncak saja, melainkan data aliran tiap
waktu. Data yang kita masukkan bisa tiap
detik, menit, jam, hari, dan bulan.
Pada aliran unsteady, selain data Boundary
Condition, kita juga harus memasukan data
Initial Condition. Data Initial Condition ini
merupakan asumsi aliran pada jam ke-nol.
Setelah data aliran telah selesai dimasukan,
tidak lupa untuk menyimpannya. caranya sama,
4. Running Simulasi Aliran
Setelah semua data sudah dimasukan, saatnya
untuk running simulasi aliran. Simulasi aliran
adalah proses menghitung dari semua data yang
telah dimasukan. Proses simulasi ini
menyesuaikan jenis aliran yang telah kita pilih,
jika kita menggunakan aliran steady, berarti
klik “Perform A Steady Flow Simulation” pada
icon yang bergambar orang berlari pada jalan
yang mendatar , sedangkan jika kita
menggunakan aliran unsteady, maka klik “Perform
An Unsteady Flow Simulation” pada icon yang
bergambar orang berlari pada jalan yang menanjak
.

5. Lihat Hasil
Kita dapat melihat hasil running kita secara
grafis maupun dengan tabel. Untuk grafis, kita
dapat melihat visual hasil running dengan
mengklik salah satu dari icon
Dari icon-icon tersebut,
kita dapat melihat potongan melintang saluran,
potongan memanjang saluran, rating curve,
penampakan 3D, dan hidrografnya. Sedangkan jika
kita ingin melihat hasil running berupa tabel,
kita dapat mengklik icon “View Summary Output
Tables by Profile” atau ..

PENUTUP
4.1 Simpulan
HEC-RAS mampu memperhitungkan pengaruh berbagai
hambatan aliran, seperti jembatan (bridges), gorong-
gorong (culverts), bendung (weirs), ataupun hambatan di
bantaran sungai. Program HEC-RAS dirancang untuk
dipakai pada permasalahan pengelolaan bantaran sungai
dan penetapan asuransi risiko banjir berkenaan dengan
penetapan bantaran sungai dan dataran banjir. Program
HEC-RAS dapat pula dipakai untuk perkiraan perubahan
muka air akibat perbaikan alur atau pembangunan
tanggul.
