The process from ELAC to LCAAC

LCAAC

The Chairperson, or Co-Chairperson of the DELAC committee advocates for the needs of English Learners to the Local Control Action Committee.

ELAC

English Language Advisory Committee members meet at individual school sites to discuss the needs of the school site.

DELAC

Members of school site ELAC teams share the concerns from their ELAC meetings with other DELAC members, and district office personnel.

SPPA / LCAP Plan DevelopmentJanuary/February 2018Schools receive their allocation from the district based on Priorities set by the LCAC committee.

Principals meet with Instructional Leadership Teams and School Site Council (SSC) to review data and give input to the Local Control Action Plan (LCAP) for the next school year.

What you can do: Attend your ELAC and SSC meetings to give input on the areas of need for your school.

March/April Principals develop specific goals and action plan items using LCAP funds to pay for materials/services/and resources. The draft of LCAP plan sent to district.

What you can do: Attend your SSC meeting to understand how the LCAP plan is developed including the allocations to your school site and give input into goals and action items.

SPPA / LCAP Plan Development Cont.

May Site Council (SSC) may need to make adjustments to the LCAP plan based on feedback from the district.

What you can do: Attend your SSC to give input into any changes or adjustments to the LCAP plan.

June Final draft of the LCAP plan is submitted to the district and approved by the school board.
