Brother Mark closed with that quote Sunday morning at Zion Baptist Church following an awesome sermon taken from Ephesians. I am so glad that God changes and transforms us by His amazing grace. After church all of our children came over for a cookout. It’s been awhile since they were all here at the same time, so it was hard for me to go back to church Sunday night. There are sixteen of us now, but Mason was with his grandparents in Hillville. I couldn’t think of any better way to end our Fall Break. As we go back to school, Crockett County and Lauderdale County are out for Fall Break. I know that Julie Kirkpatrick is excited as well as Jane Hopper! I hope they enjoy theirs as much as I enjoyed mine. I only worked three of the days planning and grading papers. Monday morning I had a nerve block performed on my back, although I can’t tell it yet. I thought I was pain free until the anesthesia wore off. I slept well for awhile though. Now, my sister Norma is suffering from back pain (bulging disk, etc.), so please remember her in your prayers as she makes a decision about what to do. I don’t know where we got these weak backs! Amanda, Mason, Jacob, and Lillie Phillips spent their week on St. George Island, Florida. They traveled with her maw-maw and other relatives and had a blast while Jason stayed behind to work. He only came over once to eat while his family was out of town and I think he smelled the roast cooking which is his favorite. Scottie Morris reported that fourteen men attended the prayer breakfast Thursday morning with Brother Irby Bowers leading the devotion. Thanks men for gathering each week to pray for various requests. Thursday afternoon Alice Elrod (mama) came over and we traveled to Whiteville where we enjoyed a meal with Tommy and Judy Elrod. We also went back Saturday and traveled with them to a huge flea market in Cold Water, Mississippi. The shopping was great, but it was horrible for an aching back. Zion’s youth traveled to a corn maze in Millington Saturday night. Youth Director Stephen Powell reported twenty attended and it was a fun trip. By the way, congratulations to Stephen and Amy Powell who are expecting a new addition to their family in about nine months or so.
