DESCRIPTION

Presentation by Hutchinson Leadership group of education project required for graduation. The youth were comprised of hand selected students who showed leadership qualities from the 5 school districts in McLeod County, Minnesota; Hutchinson Schools, Lester Prairie Schools, Glencoe/Silver Lake Schools, New Century Academy, Holy Trinity in Winsted.

The day started with registration, name tags and each Participant received a t-shirt and a back sack.

Everyone is riding in the same direction – headed toward the

same finish line

Creating philosophy of Leadership – writing down their thoughts about how they

saw leadership in the pictures.

Two philosophies of leadership to choose from:

If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, You are a leader!

You care about others more when you are a leader – It’s not all about me.

Discussion was held about each philosophy of leadership with great ideas coming from both philosophies.

We are not born into authority, we can be born into position, but it does not make you a leader.

Which philosophy did you like better?

It was a 50/50split of the group.
