The MSW / E process is done in three stages:

(1)Sorting, drying, mixing, crushing, extruding,

to make Briquette

(2)Gasification

Thermal cracking of fuel (briquettes) at a high temp. of1050deg. C to 1100deg. C in the minimal presence of Oxygen to

produce Synthesis Gas or Syn-Gas

(3)Electric Generation

Injecting SynGas directly into gas engine generator, which has been modified exclusively by us to work with syngas

to produce Electricity

Introduction:

Production of the electricity from Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) is environmentalproject and most profitable one in a long run.More expensive than gas and coal power plant, but due to the negative cost of fuel, returnof investment is shorter.

“Your Country” with a population of 24 million produces around 14,000 Tons of MSWper day, which could fuel at least 300 MW of power. We propose to start with the city of ………… with 2500 Tons of MSW per day, 60 MWPower Plant.

It is not easy to finance 60 MW, let alone 300 MW power plant.

To alleviate this problem, we suggest this “Mega Project” to be executed in differentphases:Phase I, 1 MW plant.Phase II, 60 MW plant.Phase III, 300 MW plant.

Reason for this plan is to use 1 MW plant as a show case and collateral to obtainfinancing for 60 MW plant and if willing to go further, financing 300 MW will be an easytask.

Used Tire could also be added to the garbage for either gasification or producing fuel, tostop burning tire and damaging environment more than dumping.

At Phase II Solar Power will be considered to enhance this environmental project.

At Phase II Biogas production from sewer and animal waste could start when ourmanufacturing facility is operational at “Your Country”.

Manufacturing Facility will start at Phase I so that we could manufacture and assemble70% of the project at Phase II and Phase III in “Your Country”.

Project Cost for Phase II:

The total cost of the Sorting and Briquette making facilities, Gasification and PowerPlants including; survey, feasibility study and planning, engineering, procurement, contracting, test, commission and training for 60 MW out put, Turnkey, is approximately$300,000,000.That is $5,000,000 (five million USD) per Mega Watt.

Project Income:

A – “Power Purchase Agreement” (PPA) for electricity, which the national grid pays tothe owner of the plant. For calculation purposes, we will use an average 10 cents perkilowatt hour (KwH). This is derived from 8 Cent for Domestic and 15 Cent forIndustrial use.Assume that the PPA for 60 MW of electrical power generation at a fixed price is $0.10per KWH.Sale of electricity =60 MW(net power generation) x 1000 x 24 (hours) x 365 (days) x $0.10 x0.85(Efficiency Factor) = $44,676,000 gross income from power generation annually.B - Tipping Fee: Municipalities pay the plant operators/owners a tipping fee for each Tonthat they receive and handle per day. The average tipping fee is around $10 / T:Tipping Fee = 1600 (T/D) x $10 (per Ton) x 365 Days = $5,840,000 Annually.C - Operation & Labor Cost. For this project of 60 MW power plants and RDF plant, awork force of about 20 technical and 50 non-technical workers are estimated.Assuming $80,000 per technical and $40,000 per non-technical works, the approximatelabor costs will be: 20 x $80,000 + 50 x $40,000 = $5,200,000D – Spare and Maintenance approximately $1,000,000 per year.

Summary:

Assume 8 years Return Of Investment (ROI)Cost of facilities $300,000,000Income from PPA $44,676,000Income from tipping fee $5,840,000 For special case in “ Y C” $0Labor costs $5,200,000Maintenance costs $1,000,000

ROI =300,000,000/(44,676,000+0–5,200,000–1,000,000) ~ 8 years with zero emission and huge Carbon Credit

Note:Return of investment for coal power plants is more than 20 years.Return of investment for gas power plant is around 10 years.

Project Cost for Phase I:

The total cost of the Sorting and Briquette making facilities, Gasification and PowerPlants including; survey, feasibility study and planning, engineering, procurement, contracting, test, commission and training and also setting up a manufacturing facility is$7,000,000 (seven million USD).

Special offer for “Your Country”:

CHAMCO proposes to build this plant as Pilot Plant of the 60 MW contract withfollowing payment conditions:$3,500,000 payment and $3,500,000 promissory notes to be cashed when expansionfinancing is obtained.

Note:

If after building the Pilot Plant, Phase I, the Government of“Your Country” decides to stop the project, the $3.5 millionshould be paid immediately. Furthermore, if the Governmentof “Your Country” decides to award the expansion of theproject to other companies, $5 million has to be paid toCHAMCO.

Municipal Solid Waste Conversion to RDF

CHAMCO, Inc.

The Municipal Solid Wastes (MSW) should be sorted first into recyclable andcombustible components.

The following picture is a simple and very typical, sorting facility and Briquette makingplant. The Bioreactor is used if composting or making fertilizer.

Depending on the conditions of the MSW, if the moisture is high, it should be dried. The combustible component of the MSW is turned into RDF (Refused Derived Fuel)pellet by shredding, crushing, electromagnetic separations.

Furthermore, if chemicals are needed to be added in the process for specific conditions, then the unit is modified accordingly.

Page 7: 1-60-300 MW Your Country Proposal.doc - CHAMCOchamco.net/1-60-300MW UR Country.pdfThe heat value of biogas is 5142 Kcal/m3 Conditions needed for biogas production are: 1-Strict absence

Pictures of few equipments are shown here:

The final product is shown here. This has a caloric value of 3,000 Calories per Kg, whichis the fuel for Gasification unit:

In a coal gasification, our coal gasifier consumes 418 Kg coal with 6000 Kcal/Kg caloricvalue to produce 1 MWH.Therefore:1 MW coal gasification power plant requires 10 Tons of coal / day.Since the caloric value of MSW Briquettes is about 3000 Kcal/Kg, therefore:1 MW MSW gasification power plant needs about 20 Tons of MSW Briquettes / day.

We assume this 20 Tons of briquettes will be derived from around 35 or 40 Tonsof MSW in the proposed site at “Your Country”.

Gasification

CHAMCO, Inc.

Gasification is a flexible, reliable, and clean energy technology that can turn a variety oflow-value feedstock’s into high-value products and can provide a clean alternative sourceof base load electricity.

Gasification has been reliably used on a commercial scale worldwide for more than 50years in the refining, fertilizer, and chemical industries, and for more than 35 years in theelectric power industry.

GASIFIERS- (Pyrolyzers) are receiving backing & subsidies from various Governmentsthe world over. They utilize any type of biomass including MSW, coal, waste wood, sawdust, furniture scraps, bagasse, rice husk, coconut shells, poultry litter, plastic, rubber, tires, or any other combustible material.

In the updraft gasifier, moist biomass fuel is fed at the top and descends though gasesrising through the reactor. In the upper zone a drying process occurs, below whichpyrolysis is taking place. Following this, the material passes through a reduction zone(gasification) and in the zone above the grate an oxidation process is carried out(combustion).

SynGas produced in our system of gasification has the following composition:

CO- 40%, H2- 30%, CH4- 11%, CO2-6 to 8%, N2-8 to 10%which has Caloric value of 1800 Kilo Calories /cubic meter.The Caloric value of Natural Gas is more than twice of Syn-Gas.

Gasification Operation:

To supply air for the combustion process and steam for the gasification process, moist hot air is supplied at the bottom of the reactor. Combustible gas at a lowtemperature (because of the evaporation of moisture in the drying zone) isdischarged at the top of the reactor, and inert ash from the heat-generatingcombustion process is extracted from the reactor bottom through a water lock.

The final pages of this proposal include certificates.

However, the pictures of the gas burning before and after cleaning are shown here.

Electric Generation

CHAMCO, Inc.

Ultra clean gas is fed into the engines with the help of a microprocessor based, oil to gasconversion system. When a load is activated the dual-fuel mode of operation of theengine will start automatically at 85% gas and 15% furnace oil, for a short duration thenreverts back to 100% gas mode when the load becomes constant.

The exhaust emissions of the engine can be used for a Waste Heat Recovery Boiler.800 Kg Steam at 7kg. Pressure per hr. can be obtained. This excess heat can be put to usefor other thermal applications.

This is our unique know-how!

We modify the natural gas engines to run with low calorie syngas.

This, not only uses nearly 100% energy of the syngas, but also avoid any loses due toboiler and steam loses. Furthermore, it eliminates many of the units such as boiler andsteam turbine and consequently lower cost of the project and operation.

Due to low Caloric value of syngas, we install 20 sets of 3.5 MW Caterpillar gas enginegenerators (3512 Series) to have an output of 40 MW.

Five percent of the output is feed back to the system, which will be compensated by SolarPower to have a constant 60 MW output.

A note: Power Generation:

The ultra-clean Syn-gas from the Gasification System is injected through a Gas & Aircontrol valve, directly into the Natural Gas Generating set, exclusively modified by us forSyn-Gas mode of operation. The exhaust gases from the Engine are monitored by an On-line gas analyzer for emission of unburnt CH4, CO, & H2. This is connected to a 4-20Milliampere PLC along with the Gas control valve to adjust automatically the Syn-gas toair ratio.

Synchronization Panel:The Generating set is connected to the Synchronization Panel equipped with variousfeatures viz.:1. Operation of Generating set possible in Island mode.2. If Multiple Generators are installed, it parallels all Generators as also their supply to

National Grid.3. If there is shut down of the grid, then the Gen-set does not get affected.4. If the Gen-set is shut down, then there is no effect on the grid.5. Reverse Power Shut down for the Generating Set6. Overdraw shut down for the Generating set.

Step-up Transformer or Electric Substation: It steps up the voltage of the generatingsets to be equal to the Distribution network voltage of either 33KV or 66KV or higherKV, as the case may be.Thereafter the Power will be evacuated to be fed to the Power house of Distributionnetwork.

Biogas is a fuel gas made from sewer and biomass such as food waste, grass andstraw etc. during the anaerobic fermentation process.

Biogas contains about 55% - 70% methane (CH4), and some carbon dioxide, some water, some hydrogen some carbon monoxide and some hydrogen sulfide (H2S).

The heat value of biogas is 5142 Kcal/m3

Conditions needed for biogas production are:

1- Strict absence of Oxygen.2- Temperature between 8 – 65 Deg. C. Higher the temperature the more active methanebacteria, and the higher biogas production.3- Neutral or slightly alkaline environment, a pH value between 6.8 and 7.5

For a 10 m3 biogas plant to keep a 5 m3/d biogas production, 150 kg cow dung or 110 kgpig dung is needed daily.

The liquid from biogas plant can be recycled.

Biogas residue is good organic fertilizers.

Raw material needed to produce 1 cubic meter biogas:

Pig Manure 4 kg dry = 22.23 kg freshCow Manure 5.26 kg dry = 30.96 kg freshChicken Manure 4 kg dry = 13.34 kg freshHuman Manure 3.33 kg dry = 16.67 kg fresh
