Positive Behaviour Support and You Can Do It!
Thank you to the parents, carers and community members who attended the session in the library last Thursday. Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is an important part of what we do at Boyanup Primary School, and it was a wonderful opportunity for us to explain to you what it is we do and why we do it. Information is available from the front office if you were unable to attend.
Our You Can Do It! focus this fortnight is Teamwork. Students did a fantastic job of putting this into action at our sports carnival last Friday.
This week is the last week of Term 1. I would like to thank parent and community helpers, teachers, school support staff and the children of Boyanup for their fantastic efforts throughout the term.
Our school student leaders will be conducting an ANZAC Service this Friday 12th April starting at 10.00am. Families are most welcome to attend the service, which will be held outside, in front of the school flag pole in the area between the office and the staffroom.
Last day of school is Friday 12th April. We wish you all a safe and relaxing holiday and look forward to seeing everybody back at school next term. Term 2 for student’s starts on Tuesday 30th April.

On Friday 29th March the Kindergarten and Pre Primary classes walked across to the Jack and Mary Kitchen Community Centre Carpark to meet up with the Boyanup Volunteer Fire Brigade. The Brigade volunteers explained to the children what their role was in the community and let the children have a turn with the fire hose (much to their delight).
Thanks to Tricia Heard (Zaylee’s Mum) for organising this visit. A big thank you to Brian and Nerolli Smith, Don Wetherall and Jan Kerckhofs for providing this experience for our children and to all the Bush Fire Brigade Volunteers who keep us safe over the bushfire season.

Farewell to Mrs Jean Rayson
Mrs Rayson was a special guest at our last Assembly. She took the opportunity to say goodbye to all the students and reflect on her time spent here at Boyanup Primary School over the past 12 years.
Our School Prefects, Ashleigh and Lara then presented a bouquet of flowers from all the students to Mrs Rayson in appreciation of everything she has done for our school.
Mrs Rayson officially retires at the end of this term. Goodbye and best wishes for your retirement Jean. We will miss you!

On Friday 5th April the Boyanup P&C ran a sausage sizzle lunch and cake stall for our schools sports day and WOW what a successful event it was. Whilst final amounts are still be tallied we sold over 250 sausages and almost everything on the cake stall!! A huge THANK YOU to all the P&C parents and families who were involved in the planning, setting up, cooking sausages, preparing food, selling items on the stall, loaning of tents or eskies and to those who helped clean up at the end of the day - THANK YOU!!! Special thanks to ALL our parents, carers and families who donated a large range of extremely delicious homebaked cakes, biscuits, slices and ‘raw balls’. Thank you to the Boyanup Bakery who very generously donated all the loaves of bread for the sausage sizzle. Our local farmer, Mr Alwyn Trigwell donated 6 huge watermelons which were cut up and provided free on the day to students and families for a mouth-watering treat in between races – thank you! Proceeds from both the Easter raffle and the food stall will be utilised to purchase learning resources, books, novels and home readers for all our students to enjoy for years to come.
P&C SURVEY Thank you to all parents and families for completing our P & C survey. We received 31 completed surveys which will assist us with our planning for 2019. There were lots of positive comments and suggestions for fundraising ideas and utilisation of funds which the P & C will review and discuss regarding implementation throughout this year.
