What’s On Guide Haltwhistle Children’s Centre Sept - Dec 2019 Learning Together Through Play (LTTP) (Open to all children living in Northumberland) Courses and Groups to support you and your family (Please speak to a member of staff or your Health Visitor If you would like to be introduced to any of these courses/groups) The Children’s Centre core offer is based on learning through play activities. LTTP sessions are at the heart of Children’s Centres and is our universal offer. LTTP is designed and facilitated in partnership with our health visiting colleagues. Key themes are: Attachment Bonding Child Development Weaning Safety & accident prevention Oral Health Speech & Language/Communication School readiness Early Years Entitlement . Learning Together Through Play @ Haltwhistle Wednesdays 10-11am (Term time only) Learning Together Through Play @ Haltwhistle Friday 10 - 11:00am (Term time only) Little Bridges - Learning Together Through Play Haydon Bridge at the community Centre Every Monday at 1-2pm (Term time only) LIttle Dales - Learning Together Through Play Allendale Fire Station Every Friday at 1 - 2pm ( Term time only) TERM TIME Fri 6th Sept-Fri 20th Dec excluding half term w/c 28th Oct. HENRY HENRY is an 8 week course designed to help parents give their children the healthiest start in life. Sessions cover parenting confidence, physical activity, what we eat, lifestyle habits and enjoying life as a family. Parents receive a free toolkit to help them to maintain changes. Incredible Years This is an evidence based parenting programme for strengthening parent/child interactions. The group provides a supporting and nurturing environment which encourages the development of peer support, networks and children’s socialisation. This is an opportunity to meet other parents & carers, discuss concerns and learn new skills.……. Tiny Talkers This unique and exciting language programme is designed to enable parents to support their child’s early attempts to communicate. You can choose from a wide range of themed sessions specifically developed to promote early communication skills. Suitable for children under 3 yrs. . Parent Plus This is a group for children with additional needs or disabilities or those going through a diagnosis process. Early Years Practitioners are on hand to facilitate play activities to suit children’s needs. Our staff are trained in the use of sensory equipment, portage, speech and language strategies, and much more. Great Expectations A 6 week programme for children aged 12 to 36 months. The programme is tailored to the individual needs of children and families and is delivered through a range of fun activities.
