Who We Are• TUF stands for The Underground

Foundation. We are an organization that seeks to foster the local independent music and arts scene in Tempe, Phoenix and the surrounding areas. We look to work with the artists and creators of the area as well as the consumers and spectators of the art they create. By fostering the creative process and its interaction with those who consume the creations, we hope to encourage a strong, complex and tight-knit artistic community.

What We Do• The life-blood of TUF is house shows, musical

performances of local bands and artists held in the homes of anyone who is willing to host. The typical environment of the house show is intense, close-quartered musical experience paired with an overall sense that creativity and expression is being witnessed and surrounds those participating. While the house show is at the center of our event planning, we have a large variety of other channels of involvement for those who wish to express themselves or be a part of the creative community we encourage.

How To Get Involved

• The best way for someone to become involved with TUF is by attending weekly meetings and shows. TUF meets on ASU Tempe campus every Wednesday at 9pm in Discovery Hall Room 150. Weekly meetings contain discussions regarding house shows, upcoming events like poetry slams and art shows as well as the blog, TUF//Film, news and shout-outs and other ideas that members can pitch. Dues for the club are $30 per semester or $50 for the entire year, which entitles a member to free entry at all TUF house shows (which normally are $5 at the door), a free TUF t-shirt for each semester paid for, as well as voting and candidacy privileges in TUF officer elections. Involvement without membership is possible as well. Paying attention to TUF-sponsored events and taking part in them is the best way to integrate with what TUF tries to do as a whole, and anyone with like-minded desires and views is welcome to join.
