The main difference between countable and noncountable nouns is whether you can count the things
they refer to or not.
Countable and Non- Countable nouns
CountableCountable nouns refer to things that exist
as separate and distinct individual units, like dots on a page. There can be four dots, 100 dots, or one dot.
Examples: I ate twenty cookies last night and I feel sick.

UncountableUncountable nouns refer to things that can't
be counted because they are thought of as wholes that can't be cut into parts. They are not separate dots rather a quantity which can be added to or subtracted from. The dot can get bigger or smaller but there can never be more than one.
Examples: It is important that you drink a lot of water when you exercise.
After returning from the beach my car is full of sand.
