PLURALS & COUNTABLE NOUNS / UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS Plural nouns are usually formed by adding “–s” to the singular noun. Most nouns form their plural by “–s” (a book - books, a toy - two toys) 1. Nouns ending in “–s”,”-ss”,”-sh”,”-ch”,”-x”,”-“o take ”–es” in the plural. (boxes, buses, dishes, watches) 2. Nouns that end in –y preceded by a consonant take “–ies” ( baby-babies, story- stories) ! ! ! key - keys / ray - rays / city - cities / country – countries ! ! ! 3.
