At the Tally Ho Theater in Historic Downtown Leesburg, more than 175 tickets were sold out byTuesday, June 12 for the double feature of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I and II. Fans were dressed up and even Hagrid made an appearance. Tally Ho offered prizes to movie- goers including official movie posters, box sets of the released DVD’s and free small bag ofpopcorn for anyone who dress ed up for the premiere . Rachel East, 22, of Leesburg waited in line for over two hours to be the first one in line to see the premiere. “I started reading them when I was eleven, so twelve years of reading something it’s worth it,” East said. “I think that it’s one of the few books that I’ve ever read that really puts you there and provides that escape that you don’t get in other books,” East sai d about wha t she got out of reading the books. “You can read it and forget where you are for long periods of time. I think that hasn’t changed since yo u were a pretee n, a teenager and a grown person and tha t never changes. I think that’s the best thing about it is that anybody can have that kind of experience with Harry Potter.” The sun set on not only the day, but as the signaling to the end of an era of Harry Potter and his beloved books and films. East said, there probably wouldn’t be a dry eye in the house.
