We are given these talents through God’s great mercy and favour. We are in God’s favour. Recently I felt as though my talent had been taken from me as I found myself on a very hard path. As I look at my everyday life, I often find that, not only has my talent not been taken from me, but it is revealed in how I choose to live each day. I have realised that through the gift of God’s mercy, I am able to continue to use my talents each and every day. Every one of us has a crown to wear, not a crutch to carry. Many will try and knock that crown off our heads, but through perseverance and faith, we must continue to wear our crowns and to use our talents. If we do not, our crowns will become rusty and worthless. God’s light shines on us when we use our talents, no matter how they manifest themselves. Through reflection on this important Gospel, let us ask ourselves how we are using our talents. Are we allowing the mercy and grace of God to shine each and every day? The Annual Sick and Retired Priests Special Collection Sunday 3 December 2017

On behalf of the Bishop, the Clergy Trust Fund provides for the well-being and care of priests in the Diocese. This includes stipends, food, travel home for overseas priests,

retreats, and all costs relating to healthcare. The Clergy Trust Fund is struggling to meet growing medical costs. Hence, your giving to this special collection is most

appreciated especially by our elderly priests who then benefit from your generosity. Your support is a great way of showing your gratitude to your priests.

Many thanks and blessings to all who contribute to this special collection. Every

contribution helps. Mons Brian Walsh, Vicar General

St. Vincent De Paul Havelock North would like to offer their sincere thanks to everyone who helped in making the Anointing Mass a success, especially our priests who made this such a special and
