40 Days For Life 18 February thru 29 March
IF YOU COULD SAVE ONE LIFE WOULD YOU? 40 Days for Life is a nationwide initiative to pray for the end of abortion and to offer life-affirming alternatives to abortion-minded women. The Spring Lenten Campaign runs 18 February through 29 March outside the Charleston Women’s Medical Center in West Ashley. Come closer to our Lord this Lent as you sacrifice your time and join us in peaceful prayer vigil at the corner of 1312 Ashley River Road and Fuseler St.. The campaign runs 24 hours a day and at least two participants are needed every hour. Cathedral/St. Mary’s 24 hour vigil day is Saturday 28 March! Can you help? New Parish App Coming Soon!In the coming weeks Cathedral of St. John the Baptist will launch our own app for iPhone and Android smart phones. This will allow us to better communicate with you throughout the week and keep you updated with relevant parish news or updates. The app is very well designed and very intuitive. It will be a great resource for parishioners by providing daily Mass readings, Catholic news and prayers, convenient prayer and Confession reminders, our bulletins and more.
We hope for our new app to be a tool for fostering stronger parish life at Cathedral of St. John the Baptist and better engaging the New Evangelization.

Cathedral Music MinistryPlease come join us!!!
The St. Benedict Choir is a Girl Choir for those in grades 3-8. In addition to learning music, the choristers learn about vocal production, music theory, history, and sight-singing. There are also
fun musical activities! We would like to invite you to join us and bring a friend!! Rehearsals are each Tuesday afternoon from 4:00pm-5:00pm in the Cathedral Choir Room.The Cathedral Choir currently has openings in all sections (Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass) and would like to invite those interested to please join us. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 7:00pm-9:00pm and they sing the Solemn High Mass on Sunday morning at 11:15am. The 22nd Annual Saints Alive Auction will be held at Founders Hall, Charles Towne Landing on March 14, 2015. “Keep Calm and Get Your Charleston Catholic
School On” is our theme. We have wonderful vacation packages, including a 1 week trip to Ireland, beach houses and condos, in Edisto, Isle of Palms, Myrtle Beach and Orlando. A Lebanese Dinner for 8, gift certificates to Charleston Hotels, restaurants, golf courses, jewelry, beautiful artwork and so many other great items, all for auction to the highest bidder to raise money for Catholic Education. Lucis Via Catholic Young Adults invites everyone to our Monday March 9, 2015 (Why Catholic?) Speaker being hosted at the Russell House at Christ Our King Catholic Parish in Mount Pleasant. Professor Francesco “Chip” Piatti, who focuses on History and Theory at the Boston Architectural College in Cambridge, Massachusetts is going to be speaking on “Finding Christ in Great Catholic Architecture.” Please join us at 6:45pm for a brief informal social meet and greet with the speaker. Francesco will begin his presentation around 7:05pm and a questions and answers segment will immediately follow his talk. The event is for all ages. Please feel free to bring friends, family, kids, and even strangers to join us for this great evening. Active Membership: Various facilities and services are available to our active members. This includes use of the Church for Baptisms, Weddings, and other sacramental events, and includes parishioner status in parochial schools.
ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP is determined by four things:
1. Being properly registered in the parish for a sufficient period of time.2. Faithful attendance at Mass on Sundays and Holy Days.3. Use of the envelope system in regular support of the parish.4. Being active in at least one parishprogram, ministry, or organization.
