If your child is entering first grade, this would be the me he/she should be beginning

faith forma on classes. The sacramental programs here at St. Mary’s of the Assump+on

Parish are two year programs. The First Reconcilia+on/First Communion Program begins in

first grade; teaching the basics about God’s love and God’s son, Jesus Christ, teaching some

well known prayers, and geGng the children used to the Church. It is nice to see the way a

community develops among the children and families as the year progresses. It is wonderful

to witness the growth of the children’s faith as we move through the liturgical year; begin-

ning with Advent, then on to the Christmas Season, the selfreflec+on of Lent, and the an+c-

ipa+on of Easter. Classes for the 20202021 year will begin the week of October 4

FROM FATHER SCOTT: CELEBRATION OF THE PRIESTHOOD

Dear Friends,

I invite you to join me Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at 7pm for an extraordinary

such a tremendous, lifechanging influence in the lives of countless people and

eral Joseph F. Dunford, Jr. (former Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff) with guest

appearances by ScoL Wahle, NHL star Brian Boyle, Mark Wahlberg, and the mu-

sic of Dion with PaLy Scialfa and Bruce Springsteen. With the complimentary registra+on, you will receive exclu-

sive event informa+on, updates, and the chance to win great prizes including a private tour of the newly renovat-

ed Cathedral of the Holy Cross in the South End of Boston, a virtual live Q&A session with general Dunford, an

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANCE NEEDED

Do you enjoy talking with people? Are you looking for ways

you can volunteer one, two or several hours a week sup-

por+ng your Parish? Are you comfortable with light office

work? If so, we’ve got the opportunity for you!

The Collabora+ve is looking for administra+ve assistance

with booking Memorial Masses, issuing Mass Cards, re-

sponding to emails, and a liLle data entry, if you are com-

fortable with that. No experience necessary. Weekdays or

weekends, you will work In a safe, friendly environment.

If you are interested or would like more informa+on, please

contact Denise Comeau at 7813830219 or email deniseco-

[email protected].

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION TEACHERS NEEDED!!

As always, We need teachers for the Religious Educa-

on program. If volunteering to teach or coteach is

something you think you might enjoy or feel called to

do, please reach out to Cathy Bowes @ 7819255446

or [email protected] .

It is a wonderful way to grow in faith, serve the parish,

and touch the lives of young people. What has worked

well in the past, is to coteach with another adult, this

can lessen the +me commitment for both volunteers.

Parents/Grandparents who volunteer as teachers will

receive free tuion for one child.
