About Us The mission of Charity organization Serbs for Serbs is to affect on consciousness of Americans, Serbs and their friends through planned projects, social and humanitarian activities in order to develop and foster better future generations and provide aid for underprivileged families in need. Although there are many humanitarian organizations and associations, help often doesn't reach the most jeopardized. Due to unnecessary administration, missing information and slow decision making, the delivery of aid arrives too late to the final consumers, or not at all. Ambitions

Our mission The mission of Charity organization Serbs for Serbs is to affect on consciousness of Serbian people through our projects and humanitarian activities, in order to develop better society for future generations. Why Serbs for Serbs? We wanted to alleviate impaired spirit of Serbian people in togetherness and brotherhood help through humanitarian work and social aid. Who do we help? We help Serbian families who live in the Balkans, have five or more children and live in terrible poverty. Under terrible poverty we define absence of one or more basic factors required for living: food, clothes, shoes, and safe space for living. Why do we help? We believe that there is a basic need for one human (or a group) to help others in distress. A help is not only human virtue but also a Christian responsibility. By focusing our help on families with many children, we directly affect on their stirring toward becoming independent from social-dependable government programs. Indirectly, we want to affect on birth rate of Serbian people that has been in great decline in last 20 years. What are our long term goals? • family is ready to support itself daily and

manage to pay all required expenses and bills;

• their children are encouraged to continue with school and raising their own family;

• our donors are satisfied with the activities and they are ready to help other families;

• our organization is satisfied with the results; • family is ready in the future to become our

donor and if necessary help other families that are in need of help.

Who do we need in organization? We need members and donors that will secure financial stability through supporting our programs and activities in the future. Donors may join our daily activities within the organization in order to coordinate our work better. We also need volunteers ready to donate several hours per week for actual work within the organization. Activities of volunteers and their specific tasks would be determined by the required projects and their personal interest. From that group of volunteers we would look for future leaders of organization.

Also, organization bought reservoir for water, which will enable the constant water supply in the future. We call upon all the donors, friends and members of our organization to support this project, and we also appeal to the Republic of Serbia, local representatives, departments and other institutions authorized to help in conducting our idea that each child in Serbia has a bathroom in its home.

BUILDING A HOME FOR VULIC FAMILY

Charity organization Serbs for Serbs visited family Vulic, blessed with five beautiful children, from Ostruznica village near Belgrade, Serbia. Our organization has helped this family several times before, by providing food, buying double-decker beds for the children, and a window for children’s room. The aim of our last visit was to specify the further help of the organization, with a priority in building a new family house, which Nebojsa Vulic commenced on his own. Nebojsa is employed as a technician at the Radio-Television Serbia, and the family receives a child benefit, but that is not enough for all their needs. The family home requires a reconstruction and setting the cover plate, because the installations are going to cause them problems and potentially lead to fire in the future. For that reason, the family commenced building a new home with the help of their friends. They received a material from several construction sites, where Nebojsa has friends. They managed to build most of the house, but they still need to set the home plate and work on concreting. In order to speed up and finish the work before the winter and snow, Charity organization Serbs for Serbs helped Vulic in obtaining the construction material in total value of 58,691 dinars ($700):

• Gravel 15m3 – 18,172 dinars ($216), • Cement 40 sacks – 27,584 dinars ($328), • Cement transportation – 1,180 dinars ($14), • Slaked lime 500 kg – 4,675 dinars ($56), • Transportation – 7,080 dinars ($84).

After the concreting and rendering, they will continue with the works in the second phase of building a part of the house, and we will for certain help them again.

ONGOING WORK AT FAMILY ŠALIPUR NEAR PRIBOJ

The works on setting the isolation on the house of the seven-member family Šalipur from Priboj are currently in progress. All the necessary material for isolation has been provided by the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs several months ago. We expect that the works are soon going to be finished.

We thank the friend of the organization, Vladimir Ječmenica, for taking pictures.

FRATERNAL ACTION OF HELPING ĆURGUZ FAMILY

On Friday, October 12, Charity action Serbs for Serbs from the Republic of Srpska conducted another successful action in a row. We visited 13-member family Ćurguz from the village Motike near Banja Luka for the first time, together with the fraternal organizations Serbian Society Zadužbina from Slovenija, and the organization Sabranje Baštionik from Banja Luka. Family Ćurguz consists of the parents Drago and Duška and eleven children: Dragana (18), Dragan (16), Nada (15), Gordana (14), Mirjana (13), Dejan (10), Luka (8), ðorñe (6), Goran (5), Aleksandar (2) and the youngest Miroslav who is a year old. The house in which they live, a donation from the municipality, is nearly finished, but the biggest problem lies in a fact that the house is not equipped. There are only a stove and several chairs in the house, so they were forced to sleep on the floors. The priority in the action was to equip the house, due to the coming winter. The only income of the family is a child benefit, because the father Drago was fired from a firm he used to work in, and he is unemployed ever since. We provided 499 KM for this action, and we decided to get a refrigerator for the family, while Zadužbina and Sabranje Baštionik donated 440 KM and provided three beds and some groceries for the family. We use this opportunity to address the local authorities, which need to take care of the families such as Ćurguz, in order to resolve such cases in a systematic manner. Although great donations lead to the solution of the housing problem, it only solves one of the problems. The main problem for family Ćurguz is the lack of a constant income on a monthly basis. Our organization will continue to help the families with a lot of children.

FAMILY VUCKOVIC RECEIVED TRACTOR

Members of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs from Republic of Srpska commenced an action of buying a tractor for family Vuckovic from the village Koprivna, near Prijedor. The family consists of father Drasko, his wife and six children, daughters Anastasija (10), Dajana (8) and Jelena (6), and sons Dragan (7) and twins Stefan and Aleksandar (3). Drasko’s brother Mirko lives with the family as well. We visited family Vuckovic for the first time within the Christmas action, when we delivered presents to the children, and talked about further help for this family. At first, we planned to buy the family a cow, but since Drasko didn’t manage to build a new stable and provide the conditions for breeding a cow, we decided to buy a tractor. It will help Drasko in cultivation, and in bringing the firewood from the forest, which will enable him to earn money for his family. After having considered several tractors, we decided to buy a used one, LTZ VLADIMIREC T-40 A, manufactured in 1984. The price was 5,500 KM ($3,000), and the previous owner Djordje enabled us to pay the tractor in several installments. On September 25 we paid the first installment in the amount of 1,880 KM ($ 1,000). The purchase is already beginning to pay off, since Drasko already got several pigs for the winter, and the land is ready for autumn sowing wheat. We call upon all the donors to help conducting this action, in order to finish this project successfully.

BABOVIC AND MALOVIC RECEIVED AID

In the humanitarian action „Let us help the children to embark on a carefree new pupils victory“ Charity organization Serbs for Serbs visited Babić and Malović families. Thanks to the good people, we managed to provide the most necessary things such as satchels and satchel equipment, clothing and footwear. We delivered new clothing and footwear to family Malović, and satchel equipment and groceries to family Babić. The children were very happy. They gathered around the car impatiently, waiting to try the things if they fit. The Babić family was thrilled, because the parents worried about the school necessities. They no longer have such concern. It is really great when the brothers are united. We spent $250 for this action. We thank to all the donors, friends and members of our charity organization who supported us, and who mean to continue doing so. …………………………………………………………...

NEW HELP FOR GUTALJ FAMILY FROM PALE

The crisis in the Republic of Srpska strikes the families for which we thought they wouldn’t need more help. The families for which we provided mechanization manage to satisfy their needs, but the ones helped on a humble manner are in a lack of money. The pensions are decreasing, the children after the age of 15 don’t have the right to a child benefit, the budgets of the municipalities are decreasing as well, so many families need to beg for food. Family Ćoda receives a decreased pension from 480 KM to 290 KM. The boys Marko and Miloš are over 15, so they don’t receive a child benefit. They are excellent sportsmen. Milica (3rd grade in high school) is cleaning the houses in order to help her mom, but there is less and less job. She didn’t earn money this month, and due to the error in the Pension fund they didn’t receive the pension. They can’t provide bread, nor pay the electricity. The boy’s trainer is helping as much as he can, but people just don’t have enough money. The Electrodistribution agreed to wait until they receive the pension on the following month, upon our request. The electricity is not going to be cut off, because Ranka is not in debts. She has always managed to pay her obligations, but she has less money than before. We managed to provide a one-time payment from the Pension Fund for them, in the amount of 40 KM. Only God can help them to get through the month. The Gutalj family has been in difficult situation for quite some time. The electricity is cut off. The Red Cross has donated them some food for the third time. Nemanja needs to see a doctor in Banjaluka, which is currently impossible for them to achieve. We paid part of the debt for them in order to get them the electricity back. Sonja Blagojević who joined the organization as a volunteer donated a TV to them, because it has been a luxury for them for a while. We asked the local Red Cross to try donating them some flour, but they are also in problems. We are afraid to call other families we helped before. We hope that they are in a better situation. When the children grow up, it is difficult to say what they would encounter, because they are not likely to find jobs. With faith in God!

SERBS FOR SERBS IN SMEDEREVSKA PALANKA

Charity organization Serbs for Serbs visited Todorovic family from Vodice village near Smederevska Palanka on Sunday, October 7. The initiator of the visit was a young Serbian historian and a friend of our organization Nemanja Devic, who has helped this family several times before. Todorovic family consists of father Ratko and mother Zemka, their five children Njegos (12), Jovana (10), Jovan (8), Luka (6) and Stefan (5), and Ratko’s mother Dobrila. Their monthly income is only 13,000 dinars (approx. $120), which is not sufficient for their elementary needs. The family does not receive child benefit, because the police unit in Kraljevo refuses to allow the mother to regulate her residence, and thus obtain the opportunity to get additional income for her family, which would mean a lot to them. Despite the fact that Zemka was a refugee from Bosnia and Herzegovina, who was expelled from Kosovo and Metohija, none of the authorized institutions wanted to help nor react. During our visit and conversation with the parents, we established that the family needs domestic animals for breeding, equipment for the bathroom, double-decker beds for the children and medicine for Dobrila. The house is in a bad condition. They haven’t paid all their bills for electricity and water, because they are paying whenever they have enough money. Apart from all the problems, the family doesn’t sit and wait for the charity. They have fruit and vegetables in the yard, several pigs, and they also bring the firewood from a nearby forest, which is in their ownership.

We were discussing the possibility of buying the necessary bowel irrigation, so that they could obtain better results in their land. We use this opportunity to emphasize the gratitude of the family Todorovic to our friends from the Serbian Brotherhood Help Canada, who sent 400 Canadian dollars through our representatives.

At the end of our visit we agreed to help Todorovic family in several steps during the following months. We call upon all the people of good will and the donors worldwide to help this family, so that all of them, and above all their children, could have a better and more secure future.

We wish to thank to Nemanja Dević who was our host in Smederevska Palanka, and who donated 50 books to our organization.

BOOKS FOR CULTURAL CENTER IN MACEDONIA

In the first days of October, within our „book project”, we provided the Serbian cultural center Vuk Karadžić from Kučevište, Macedonia with a few packages, containing several dozen of books, intended primarily for the children in the primary and secondary schools, as well as to all other inhabitants who are interested in the Serbian national history, literature and Orthodox christianity. The purpose of helping our compatriots in FRY Macedonia is to preserve the national consciousness, its raising to a higher level, the improvement of the knowledge of Serbian language, and therefore the strengthening the ties with Serbia.

We hope that this shipment, as well as the previous ones, will be useful for Serbian children, and that young

people from this area will strengthen their national identity, and serve as the model of Serbdom. We would like to thank our friends – Mr. Bane and his associates, without whom this project couldn't be realized. …………………………………………………………...

SFS FRIENDS FOR FAMILY DANJEK

A group of donors and friends of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs directly deposited 7,000 dinars on the account of family Danjek, with the aim of helping fulfilling the everyday needs of this hardworking family. The desire to help its compatriots stimulated a group of benefactors to take an action. According to the evangelical principle “But when you give to someone in need, don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing“, the benefactors wished to remain anonymous. This represents a nice example to the hesitant people who wish to help our most endangered fellow citizens on their own, but cannot think of a manner. Our organization played a counseling role, and gave some basic information, so that the noble intention could be efficiently carried for our mutual joy. We received hints that this was not and is not going to be isolated case, and that we are ahead of more actions of this kind. We call upon all the noble people to follow this example, and take independent action using the advices and information from our organization. They can help one of the endangered families our organization helped so far. The stability of the Serbian families with great number of children should be a priority of the state and all those who carry the well-being of our nation in their hearts, because families with great number of children represent the core of the renewal of the Serbian people in the period of the white plague.
