TRANSCRIPT
BY CHARLIE DIMPFL, CCM Gone are the sounds of cannonballs and splashing at the pool, replaced now instead with the ring of school bells. And since many of our summer staff and coaches are teachers heading back to their classrooms, now is the perfect opportunity to thank them for making this summer another wonderful season for junior activities. Countless hours were spent by our coaches and counselors to plan and deliver a memorable summer for all. Miss Sarah and the Kids Kamp Team provided an enriching experience of crafts, games, field trips and much more. The Professional Golf Staff of Scott, Andrew and Johnny helped fine tune the skills for many, while providing a fun and engaging environment for the novice golfer. Coach Shane provided energetic and lively clinics at the tennis courts, while the Swim Team - lead by Coach Meghan, Coach Allison and Coach Emma - proved to be tough competition at each and every meet. I would like to thank them all for an incredible summer of activity and fun and look forward to next year.
Now that the fall months are upon us, we have some great activities happening in the Clubhouse and all around the Club. Labor Day will hopefully bring us great weather to take advantage of the pool for one last weekend. Plus, Chef Stephen has a great pool-side buffet prepared
for Monday and it will truly impress. And please remember, this is the last day the pool is open this year, so come out and make the most of it!
In terms of fall golf, the popular Grandview Invitational will kick-off with a practice round on Thursday, September 15th and run all weekend. This is one of our signature events at the Club and it is a great opportunity for the staff and membership to showcase to guests everything that makes CCP special. For our juniors this season, we are hosting two Kids Movie Nights on Friday, September 23rd and Friday, October 21st where the whole family gets to enjoy a night out. There is also a Kids’ Carnival on October 8th specifically geared for our thriving community of juniors.
Two exciting food-based events will be held in September including Chef Stephen’s first Food and Wine Pairing on Saturday, September 10th. Chef is an expert in this area and this event will really let his talents be showcased. There is also the popular Pigs N’ Pinot event which will have a slightly different look and feel this year thanks to the culinary creativity of Chef, so make your reservations for this event being held on

CLUB MEMBERSHIP
continued from page 1GENERAL MANAGER
Friday, September 30th. As always, further details will come out via the weekly emails.
I would also like to take a moment to encourage the members to attend our Annual Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, October 18th. This is a great opportunity to hear from the Board on the happenings at the Club, while also being able to share your feedback or thoughts, and to engage in an open dialogue with the Board members on all topics Club-related.
For those of you who read my article on a monthly basis, you’ll be happy to hear that the Informal Dining Room is now OPEN and has been converted to a spectacular new bar! If you have not stopped in to see the change, it is well-worth experiencing. From the granite bar tops to the new lighting, the transformation is one that will really pay dividends. Many people have asked about reservations in the new room and at this time, reservations will not be able to be made; instead, it will be on first come first serve basis while we see how business progresses.
Finally, I’m pleased to announce that this past month, the Club was featured in a well-known and highly-regarded
industry magazine, Club & Resort Business. It is an honor for any club to be included in this publication and we were selected not only for inclusion, but for the cover and feature article! This is a very deserving accolade for CCP. There has been a lot attention paid to CCP within the country club industry in regards to the success of our Club within the last 18 months – from phenomenal membership growth to upgrades to food and beverage processes. Other clubs have reached out to ask for information on what we are doing in order to emulate our success.
Many of accomplishments of the Club can be attributed to the Board for their willingness to listen to new ideas presented to them, their responsiveness to the wishes of the membership and for then executing on a plan to achieve these goals. These individuals have put in numerous hours of work on a monthly basis to make sure that the Club is moving in a positive direction
while maintaining our traditions. If anyone would like a copy of the Club & Resort Business magazine, they can be located in the entryway of the clubhouse.
I look forward to seeing you all this fall at the Club! Charlie Dimpfl, CCM

BY ANDY MORRIS As September rolls in, we begin to see the fall season arrive. Where did the summer go?! September and October are good months for a round of golf; but it is a busy time of year for the department as we prepare the course for the rigors of winter and deal with many fall projects.
September is also busy with the Member/Guest Grandview Invitational taking place September 16th and 17th-an event we look forward to every year. September weather can be terrific so let’s hope it holds out for these events this year. October is dedicated to many agronomic practices that are necessary in order to prepare the course for the winter season. Yes, we are talking winter already!
Heading into fall our staff size is reduced with our seasonal college students returning to school which keeps the remaining staff very busy. We will begin our annual war on leaves as the trees transition from
fall to winter. We blow, vacuum, rake and burn many of the leaves on the course as they come down. It is a monstrous task keeping it all picked up and the staff does a great job.
If you haven’t seen the course in fall color you are missing out on a real treat. The fall colors are spectacular and the vistas across the course are second to none. Grab the camera and the clubs for a trip to the golf course. You will not be disappointed. Fall golf can be fantastic. The temperatures are much more comfortable than the summer heat and the turf is in great shape. We have been fortunate this year and didn’t lose too many days to weather situations. Let’s
hope this fall follows that same pattern. Don’t put those clubs
away just yet. Come out and enjoy some of the
best golf of the year.
It won’t be long before the snow plow gets put on the truck and we are left to deal with winter. There are plenty of beautiful days in September and October so get to the course and enjoy them. Oh, and don’t forget the camera!
See You On The Course!
