MISSION STATEMENT

A mission statement articulates the purpose of the company, basically why it exists, what it does and for whom. It should serve as an ongoing guide that spells out what the company is all about. The mission should focus on the here and now. Here are some good mission statements that explain in clear and succinct words what the company does. eBay: ”At eBay, our mission is to provide a global online marketplace where practically anyone can trade practically anything, enabling economic opportunity around the world.”Google: "Organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful."Walt Disney: "We create happiness by providing the finest in entertainment for people of all ages, everywhere."Amazon: "To build a place where people can come to find and discover anything they might want to buy online" http://www.linkedin.com/today/post/article/20130626044531-64875646-what-the-hell-is-wrong-with-mission-and-vision-statements http://www.linkedin.com

Page 9: Project on Product Development & Reengineering Final Submission

VISION STATEMENTA vision statement outlines the goals and aspirations for the future. It creates a mental picture of a specific medium-term target and should be as a source of inspiration (but not quite to the extreme of Hilton!).here are some good vision statements that spell out the aspirations and ambitions of a company. Microsoft: "A computer on every desk and in every home" Wal-Mart: "To become a $125 billion company by 2000" Save the Children: "Our vision is a world in which every child attains the right to survival, protection, development and participation." http://www.linkedin.com/today/post/article/20130626044531-64875646-what-the-hell-is-wrong-with-mission-and-vision-statements http://www.linkedin.com

LEVI'S LOGO INFORMATION

Levi Strauss & Co. is a world-renowned American clothing company. Established in 1853 by Levi Strauss, the company is known for its Levi’s brand of denim jeans. Head-quartered in San Francisco, California, Levi Strauss employs more than 16,200 people around the world with net income of $157 million as of 2010.Levi Strauss sells apparel in over 60 countries worldwide, having 53 production facilities and 32 customer service centers in more than 49 countries. DESIGN ELEMENTS OF LEVI’S LOGOThe famous red tab logo of Levi’s, which remains of the most recognizable logos ever created, was introduced 63 years after Levi’s blue jeans was officially patented in 1873. The famous red tab was unveiled in 1936. The highly legible and memorable Levi’s logo has been proved one of the most result-oriented logos in design history.SHAPE AND COLOR OF THE LEVI’S LOGO The old Levi’s logo, first used in 1886, consisted of two horses trying to seek opposite directions. They are prevented by the single pair of jeans attached to each. There’s a story behind the “Two Horse Brand” that a locomotive driver attached two carriages with jeans and drove both to the destination station.Source:- 1Web address www.famouslogos.us , link:- : http://www.famouslogos.us/levis-logo/

EARLY HISTORY OF LEVI'S 1853LEVI STRAUSS & CO. FOUNDED Bavarian-born Levi Strauss moves to Gold Rush era San Francisco to open a dry goods business. He sold clothes, boots and other goods to the small retail stores of the American West.1873THE BLUE JEAN IS BORN Jacob Davis, a tailor from Reno, Nevada, teams with Levi Strauss to create riveted-for-strength work wear made of true blue denim. On May 20, 1873 the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office grants patent #139,121 to Levi Strauss & Co. and Jacob Davis for their invention. This is how the blue jean, originally called "XX," was born.1890FROM DOUBLE X TO FIVE OH ONE The original "XX" blue jean is given its iconic lot number 501®. 1908 THE HORSES GO GLOBALThe Two Horse trademark is registered in Japan and Levi's® global reach begins in earnest with markets like Australia and South Africa soon to follow.1918FOR THE LADIESFreedom-Alls make their appearance. This tunic/trouser outfit was designed to give women freedom of movement and release them from the restrictive clothing of the era. 1930sGO EAST YOUNG MANAuthentic cowboys wearing Levi's® jeans are elevated to mythic status, and Western clothing becomes synonymous with a life of freedom and independence. Easterners who wanted an authentic cowboy experience head to dude ranches out West, where they purchase their first pair of Levi's® jeans and take them home to wow their friends - and help spread the Western influence to the rest of the country.1950 sBANNEDThe 1950s saw denim banned in some schools, especially in the East, for being a bad influence. The portrayal of denim-clad "juvenile delinquents" in movies and on tv led many school administrators to prohibit denim in the classroom, fearing that wearing the rebel uniform would lead students push against authority in all of its forms.

1961KIDS THESE DAYSThe new, slimmer silhouettes of the 1960s inspire Slim Fits, a 5-pocket twill trouser for young men. Teenagers call them White Levi's® because no one knows what to call blue jeans that aren’t blue.1965INTERNATIONAL MOMENTThe company's international division is created to pulls together and expands all of the company's post-war distribution in Europe and Asia.1980/84LET THE GAMES BEGINLevi Strauss & Co. makes clothing for the athletes at Olympic Games in 1980 and 1984.1991TERMS OF ENGAGEMENTLevi Strauss & Co. creates the first comprehensive set of standards for contractors and worldwide, called Terms of Engagement, to help promote fair labor standards and workers' rights.1999Fashion Item of the CenturyTime magazine names the 501® jean the Fashion Item of the Century. In the same year, the 501® jean is reverse engineered and Engineered Jeans are launched worldwide.2010THE SHAPE OF THINGSLevi's® Curve ID jeans for women are introduced. Using a revolutionary fit system based on shape, Curve ID was created as a result of studying more than 60,000 body scans and listening to women around the world of all shapes and sizes.2011BORN TO BIKEUrban cyclists across the country adopted jeans as a part of their commuting uniform. Inspired by the trend, Levi's® invents the Commuter line - a multi-functional performance product designed for cyclists all over the world.•Source:- 2web address www.us.levi.com ,link:- : http://www.us.levi.com/shop/index.jsp?categoryId=18816896

Importance of Product Development in RMG sector: Product development is most important for RMG sector and Specially for Bangladesh RMG sector. Because it helps to increase’s our product quality, production capacity, product reputation, industry reputation, product value, international goodwill etc. So, We should more care about our Product development. Should be give more importance for a new product development. Because it’s totally new product in the market. Should give attention on the Garments quality. Quality is the most importance for a new product; if the quality is good then the product will be success in market.

Importance of Product Development:  The importance of new product development is a result of the necessity for developing new products if a business is to survive. In other words, new product development is tied to the ability of a business to remain competitive and also to the longevity of such a business. Any business that does not realize the importance of developing new products will not last very long as a consequence of the fact that business is all about innovation and change, making it absolutely necessary for businesses to adapt to those changes in order to remain relevant. New product development may be geared toward the conceptualization of a new idea regarding a completely new line of products currently not in the market, or it could be aimed toward upgrading products that may be in the market already. Whatever the case, the development of new products is an essential part of the application of business strategies by companies. Page 17: Project on Product Development & Reengineering Final Submission

What Is New Product Development? For a person coming up with an idea for a product on his or her own, the development may be guided by instinct and availability of input from family and friends. In the business world, however, each business that creates products usually has a specific approach to new product development (NPD). When the company has a Chief Technology Officer (CTO), this may well be his or her realm, and he or she may bring a personal approach or use a somewhat standard new product development process. There are several more or less standard models for new product development consisting of a set of steps that many companies use or vary to suit their needs. In one generic version of product development, the basic steps in this product can be described as generating ideas; evaluating or screening the ideas; developing, testing, and refining concepts; performing a business analysis; doing the product and marketing mix development; market testing; and commercializing the product. Latest trend reportThe Men’s Wear Fashion TrendFlower glower! It was a dark, albeit blossoming, season for menswear in London, Florence,

Milan, and Paris. Europe's designers kept the palette mostly dark (and, more often than not,

blue), the fabrics largely season less, and the sport references extreme at the Spring 2014 shows.

And no, the floral patterns that emerged as one of the season's big trends did nothing to lighten

the mood. Still, even as Miuccia Prada chewed over the sinister implications of vacation and

Haider Ackermann revived a decadent, slightly menacing romanticism, the collections this season

were as strong as they were sinister. Here, the season's top trends, as well as pieces to own. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------1. Source :- www.style.com/ Link. : www.style.com/trendsshopping/trendreport/071513_Menswear_Trends/

Latest trend reportThe Bold Statement PrintWhen looking to separate your outfit from the rest of the crowd, a bold, on trend print is a great place to start. So, forget all about accent accessories and subtle detailing this summer and instead opt for a patterned shirt, jumper, t-shirt or pair of trousers.

When it comes to putting together your own outfits, turn to the SS14 runways for inspiration. The likes of Ami, Prada, Versace and DSquared2 featured a plethora of eye-catching trousers, in-your-face shirts and statement-making sweaters – all paired with a wide variety of pieces.

Just remember that trend-led prints often fall out of favor quickly and, as such, it would be wise to limit the amount you spend on an item like this. Our recommendation would be a printed tee from affordable high street stores such as Top man, River Island and H&M – combine it with everything from shorts and chinos to linen trousers and indigo jeans, creating a range of effortlessly cool off-duty looks.

When it comes to finding something both wearable and fashionable, it’s the in-between space that’s often the best.Whether you’re hunting for a new pair of classic blue jeans, want to inject a little color into your casual wardrobe for winter, or want to know how to layer up your denim in interesting ways, read on: here’s a guide to some of the key denim trends for men this season that will stay in fashion in 2014.

Latest trend reportThe Oversized TeeAlthough well-cut t-shirts form the backbone of any successful capsule wardrobe, this season why not consider adding an oversized option to your collection? Loose and relaxed, they subtly stand out against ubiquitous slim-fit tees while simultaneously keeping you cool in the heat. Our styling advice would be to keep it simple and classic. Opt for an oversized t-shirt in timeless black, grey or white and combine with slim/skinny cut jeans, chinos or shorts. An oversized tee makes a statement on its own, especially when you juxtapose it against a fitted bottom half, so there is no need to go overboard here.Alternatively, try layering your t-shirt underneath a crew neck jumper, open shirt or bomber jacket to emphasize the effect while playing with the concept of silhouette.Final WordWhether you opt for printed trousers, an oversized tee or bold sunglasses, the five items showcased today will ensure you don’t blend into the background this season. But as always, we want to hear from you. Let us know whether you will be investing in any of the pieces showcased today and tell us how you plan on standing out from the crowd this season in the comments section below…Web add:- www.fashionbeans.com , Link 4 : http://www.fashionbeans.com/2014/5-daring-mens-fashion-trends-summer/
