LOOK FOR US ON FACEBOOK
The big yellow school bus turning around at
the end of my drive reminds me that September
is upon us. Soon the tomatoes will be gone, the
sweet potatoes will be dug and the snow will again return to the delight of us skiers. But
wait…I’m not quite ready for the snow yet. I
still have plenty of NSC things to do before
those grey days of central Ohio arrive.
We have our big membership meeting coming
up on Sept 7 at Harbor Hills. Traditionally, this
is the meeting where you re-up for another year,
make some sort of commitment to the big trips,
and buy enough raffle tickets to make your
wallet gasp. You also get a decent meal. The
club supplies the bar-b-qued meats…you bring a covered dish to share.
A big thank you to Ginny Young for the
CVSR wine train weekend & bike ride and to
Tom and Dayle Huffman for the Kokosing
Kayak & Camp. A special thank you to Tom and
Jan Erndt for hosting all the Kokosing river rats
for a Nebraska Can-bake at their Apple Valley
retreat.
Coming off of a successful happy hour in
Zanesville, we have another happy hour
scheduled in September at Flanagan’s Pub on
the east side of Columbus. We plan to rotate these happy hours around to make sure there is
one near you. Lobby Deb Crall or Nancy
Channel (the happy hour committee) for your
favorite port of call and we’ll try to party at your
end of the world.
Some of you I haven’t seen in a while. I hope
you will be able to join us on September 7.
Good wishes to our Alaska adventurers. Have
a great trip.

EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW
ABOUT THE BIG RAFFLE but were afraid to ask.
Q. Do I need to be at the drawing to win?
A. No, We will notify winners by phone if they are not at the
drawing. Really, we will.
Q. Do I get anything if I sell the winning ticket?
A. Well, not really. But you'll have the satisfaction of knowing
that you had the winning ticket in your hand, and sold it!
Q. What are the odds of winning?
A. About as good as witnessing the next Miller Moon.
Q. No, really what are the odds of winning?
A. Depends on how many tickets are sold, of course, but we
only printed 300 tickets. 240 tickets need to be sold for the Park
City grand prize.
Q. What happens if less than 240 tickets are sold
A. The Board has there next meeting in Las Vegas. Just dream-
ing The grand prize becomes a 50/50 drawing with the money
that is raised from ticket sales.
Q. What if the winning person has someone they would like to
accompany them to Park City?
A. We've made arrangements with the travel agent to hold a
room for two with the second space for the winner’s roomie.
Q. How do I get tickets to sell?
A. Call Tim at 740-328-9883 or ask him at the meetings or
Happy Hours. This is a great way to help the Club if you are to
shy to serve on the Board.
Hey, gang we are off to a great start. At the last meeting I
handed out over 120 tickets. If those all sell we are over halfway
to giving away another Western Ski Vacation. Thanks! All your
help is greatly appreciated by the Board.
Thank you,
Tim Crowley
