The weather is beginning to warm up again following a cooler week last week. We had our first assembly for the year last Friday and I must say that I was so proud of our Kindergarten students. They did a marvellous job to stay engaged throughout, especially at the end of their first full week of school - keep up the amazing effort! Our annual Swimming Carnival will be held this Wednesday. The weather is predicted to be warm so ensure that your child has sunscreen, a hat, rash shirt and plenty of water. We will ensure that we remind students to stay in the shade when not racing and to constantly re-apply the sunscreen throughout the day. It promises to be a fun day. Parents are most welcome to come along and join the cheer squad. Our first P&C meeting for the year will be held tonight at 7pm in the Health Hub. It would be great to see some familiar, as well as new, faces at the meeting. Our school can only reach its potential if parents, staff and students are working in partnership, pursuing a shared vision. The P&C is a great opportunity for parents and carers to contribute and add value to our great school. Next Thursday evening commencing at 5pm will be our 2018 Meet & Greet Expo. Its purpose is to provide an informal opportunity to connect with your child’s class teacher and find out about class expectations, school events, school priorities and what support might be available. A free sausage sizzle will be provided. It will give you an opportunity to connect with all of your children’s teachers (if you have more than one child) on one evening. To build upon this connection we will be having three way interviews during the final three weeks of this term. This will involve parents / carers, class teacher and the student talking about learning, goal setting and identifying strategies to support student learning. Have a wonderful week of learning! are working in partnership, pursuing a shared vision. The P&C is a great

opportunity for parents and carers to contribute and add value to our great

school.

Next Thursday evening commencing at 5pm will be our 2018 Meet & Greet

Expo. Its purpose is to provide an informal opportunity to connect with your child’s class teacher and find out about class expectations, school events,

school priorities and what support might be available. A free sausage sizzle

Introducing the class from Studio 11 - where students become stars!

6M have made a stellar start to the year. We are applying ourselves well

to our new roles and are focusing on the task at hand - learning!

Last week we started our shared reading text ‘ Saving Atlantis’. The story

is about two treasure trackers, Flynn and Mia, who mysteriously find

themselves in the lost city of Atlantis. We cannot wait to find out what

adventures they get up to. It is a great story for a movie!

Last Wednesday, along with our fellow 6P students, we voted on the

design and logo for our Year 6 T-shirt. Wait until you see us. We will

definitely look like legends in these!

There have already been lots of opportunities for us to shine and take on

leadership roles, such as House Captains and Playground Monitors. We

are really looking forward to helping out our youngest stars in the K-2

playground at lunchtime and encourage all our team mates at the

swimming carnival on Wednesday.

Although we know that this is a really important year for us as we start to

prepare for high school, we are certainly looking forward to all the new

and exciting things we are going to

learn. We intend to make the most of

every opportunity that comes our way.

Soooo…...keep an eye out for all the

amazing things that we will be doing

throughout 2018.

Remember ….we are MEGASTARAS!

Our first work of art ’Name in

Lights’ had rave reviews from

the critics and they cannot

wait to see what we produce

next.

LIBRARY LOVER’S DAY

❤❤We celebrated Library Lover's Day with a Scavenger Hunt, working in teams to locate some

awesome books about all sorts of topics. This challenged our knowledge of call numbers, shelf

locations, genres and Oliver Library. All 46 students who participated will receive a small reward

from the canteen. ❤❤
