Learning for all at Morgan Street Welcome to Week Six. It is a very special week for our School Administrative and Support Staff (SASS). This week we celebrate SAS Staff Recognition Week. Whether our SAS staff work in the office, library, in the school grounds or in the classroom, they play a very
important role for our school. So much of their work occurs under the radar. We extend a thank you to our SAS staff at Morgan Street. The staff consist of Mandy, Narelle, Marnie, Leesa, Sonia, Julie, Narelle, Naomi, Tayla, Kristy, Molly and Paul. Our school is such a better place for their involvement.
Congratulations to all our Eisteddfod entrants from last week on your amazing efforts - a true reflection indicating that effort and hard work pays off. Our entries received the following placings: Junior Choir - 1st, Senior Choir 2nd, Morgie Musos - 1st, 2S Verse Speaking - 1st and 6M Verse Speaking - 2nd. Thank you to our staff for providing these opportunities for our students.
A couple of special events occur this week - our Book Week Parade and Assembly on Wednesday and the P&C Father’s Day breakfast and Gift Stalls on Friday. These are wonderful opportunities that bring our school community together.
Our Year 4 students head off to Victor Harbor next week. I am sure that there will be lots of excitement in the lead up. Please do not hesitate to ask class teachers any questions that you may have in relation to these excursions.
Have a wonderful week of learning! Thought for the week: “If you're not making someone else's life better, then you're wasting your time. Your life will become better by making other lives better.” – Will Smith Scott Sanford Principal

Last Wednesday, 2S performed the poem ‘The Dentist & The Crocodile’ by Roald Dahl at the Eisteddfod. They competed against 5 classes from other schools. Everyone did their absolute best, and they won! 2S had a great time and it was a very exciting day.
6M performed ‘Bean Talk Rap’ in the senior verse speaking section. They too did an amazing job and were awarded 2nd place.

1D In 1D we have had such a busy term! We’ve been getting used to the idea of green, yellow and red behaviours and self-reflecting, some of us participated in the Choral Festival and the Eisteddfod which was super fun because we got to go on the bus. We’ve been busy caring for our amazing beanstalks, practising for our awesome assembly item and we had a special, fluffy, cheeky visitor join us in class. Along with all of this, we’ve also been learning wonderful new things and working really hard to achieve our learning goals. In 1D we sure are P.R.O.U.D. to be a Morgie! Have a look at some of the amazing things we’ve been doing.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT
Ms Michelle Bradley
What is your role at MSPS? I am teaching 4/5B this year while I am visiting from Sydney. How long have you worked at MSPS? Just this year! I am part of a program that gives teachers the opportunity to live and work in rural and remote schools to see if they would like to move to these areas. What’s your favourite thing about working at MSPS? Definitely the people! Everyone has been so welcoming and friendly. I feel so very lucky to be able to spend my days with 4/5B. They are beautiful! What is something about you that not many people know? I am the Teacher Librarian at my school in Sydney. What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this? I would love to own a bookshop! Describe yourself in 3 words? Kind, loyal and curious If you could live anywhere else, where? I would love to live in Paris, the home of some of the most beautiful artworks in the world.
