The P & C would like to thank all of those who attended the fete. We are pleased to announce that a net profit of over $12,000 was made. This is more than any previous years which is a credit to all stall holders, helpers and supporters. We hope you all had a great time and look forward to see what we can achieve in 2 years time. We would also like to officially thank our major sponsor the Demo club
for their generous donations.

WENDALPA STATION TRIP
Last Friday 6M enjoyed a fantastic
day at Wendalpa Station. The
scenery around the property proved
a great backdrop for their
photography unit. The students
participated in ‘An Amazing Race’
scavenger hunt and were hands-on
drafting sheep. A great day was had
by all. A big thank you to Sam and
Dick Maiden for hosting the visit.
Also 6M and Ms Muir would like to
thank Tania and Will Thomas, Sheri
Gaiter, Debbie Milnes, Dean Arnold,
Zane Crabb and Nick Ware for
driving the students and assisting
with the day.
Last Monday afternoon we met many of our new
Kinder parents for 2016 at a meeting which was
held as the lead up to Kinder Orientation
act iv it ies beg inning on Wednesday .
Unfortunately, a sick day as well as a Principal’s
Meeting had me unable to meet our Kinder
students for next year, I will do that this week.
Whilst looking over my shoulder at last week’s
newsletter I see I also must acknowledge our
Kinder teachers 2015, Ms Keenan, Ms Maddern
and Mr Stuart who are the reason we are
“celebrating the progress these children have
made throughout 2015”. I missed making that
clear last week and wished to catch it up as these
three fine young teachers have become a
galvanised team and now I am sure are
celebrating what their charges know due to fine
teaching.
Being away meant I couldn't hide in a car on the
trip to Wendalpa. I got great joy out of hearing
about 6M in the bush and do wish I could have
seen it. Thanks to the Maiden family as well as
the transport families who gave their time so the
photo unit could progress.
There is a lot of talk around the dollars coming
into schools under the GONSKI reforms. It is
important to keep in mind that this pathway has
a number of years to run as it is phased in but
the “good news stories” across all schools with
only a tiny portion of the funds in schools as yet.
Todays article in the SMH http://
www.smh.com.au/national/education/turnbull-
hints-at-return-to-egalitarian-education-20151106
-gksihw.html gives an insight into our new Prime
Ministers thinking on Education. His Education
Minister made encouraging comments on ABC
Q&A earlier last week.

“Proud Morgies learning together” Morgie Manners Make Us Magnificent!
It is a very busy time of year at the moment, and it’s always
the little things that make a difference when we have a lot of
extra things to do.
When you smile at someone, ask them how their day is
going or offer to lend a hand - all these small things add up to
making our school a great place to be.
When we remember our ‘Morgie Manners’ and knock
before we enter a room, speak nicely, and show respect to
both teachers and students, we are creating a happy
environment at school.
People appreciate YOU when you use your manners,
especially in the office and the canteen where they deal with
lots of people every day! So, stay on track Morgies and keep
those manners a top priority. They keep us PROUD and
make our school magnificent!
Keep up the great work Morgies!
Term 4 has been SPECTACULAR so far in KS!!!
This term in KS we have discovered sea creatures from deep within
the ocean and built our own musical instruments for some cool and
creative news stories.
We are reading more and more challenging books and writing longer
sentences full of wonder and amazement. We have written about the
speed of a leopard, the sound of a monkey and the waddle of a
penguin. In KS we have also continued our hard work building our
maths skills by measuring and making tricky patterns.
With such a busy term so far, we
cannot wait to discover what is just
around the corner.
We Are….KS!!!
