    COMPANY PROFILE

    Big bazaar is a unique chain, currently more than 75 stores in all aroundthe INDIA Owned by PANTALOON retail (INDIA) limited, future group. Head quarter of big bazaar is

    situated in Jogeshwari- Mumbai; the idea was pioneered by entrepreneur, MR. KISHOR BIYANI, the

    CEO of future group. Who has begun career with selling stone wash fabric to small shops in

    Mumbai. He launched Pantaloon, biggest listed retailer of the country.

    Pantaloon is credited with launching many retails formats in value and life

    style retailing brand names in country, including big bazaar, Food bazaar, Central, E-zone, and

    Hometown in 1993, he experimented with a small store format. And pantaloon shop was launched

    in Panjim, Goa. Then a large familys store in 1998 in KOLKATA, after a great success, he launched a

    METHODOLOGY

    I have visited big bazaar situated at Himalaya mall (A bad). The purpose behind

    visiting the retail mall is to get information regarding the logistic dept. Or channel of the org. And

    the strategies of the org.

    I met Mr. Sushant Pandey the manager of Big bazaar (Himalaya mall; a bad). I askedsome questions on the basis of questionnaire about the mall or org.

    Logistic & strategyLogistic: - logistics is the management of flow of goods and other resources between the point of

    origin and the point of consumption to meet the requirement of customers.

    Logistic management: - Is the science of planning, organization & execution that make sure the

    required delivery on time at the right location.

    Strategy: - strategies are that what top management does that is of great importance to the

    organization. It consists of important actions necessary to realize the directions.

    1. What is your pricing strategy?

    - We make pricing strategy to earn reasonable profit on the product which is going to be

    sold .

    - e.g. In winter season we put winter sale and some special discount on winter cloths.

    - In competitive market, when competition is tough we need to change the plan

    according to the demand of the customers.

    And What are your strategies for it?

    - In competitive market, to attract the customers we need to make certain strategies.

    We have Wednesday bazaar. The one day of week when special discounts or atthe low price we sell our products to the customers.

    The other way to attract customers is our facility of online shopping. Which is oneof the most favourite sites among the people in India for online shopping.

    Mobile accessories, Mobile handsets, electronics devises like home theatres,

    digital camera, LCD TVS etc. These are the products available for the customerswho want shopping online.

    4. What about your logistics dept. Or channel?

    - Our logistics dept. Is responsible for procuring the stock of all the products of the

    different dept...

    - It receives the goods from Ware house located at Hosakate.

    - It dispatches the goods to the respective dept. After recording it in the goods inward

    register.

    - If there is a damaged in the goods or if the goods do not match the details given in the

    stock outward register It sends it back to the ware house along with a goods returned

    note .

    CONCEPTUAL RELEVANCE OF M.M.

    The topic given to me is functions of logistics and strategies for resistance

    changes which I am studying in my marketing management subject. I have visited big bazaar retail

    mall and seen that how manager makes certain changes and strategies to stay in competitive

    market.

    CONCLUSIONI can conclude the topic given to me about the subject of Marketing

    Management and Principals of management & O.B. which I have seen practically by visiting the

    Retail Mall. I came to know about the Logistics management of Big Bazaar retail mall and the

    strategies of the mall with certain changes.

    In course of conducting the project.... First time I experienced to how to talkwith the high skilled personality and confidence to do further projects. This project helped me to

    gain outside knowledge of business.
