Lucozade Invented Lucozade in 1927. He carried out research to try and help his children suffering from a common cold or flu, he formulated an easily digestible drink that helped them recover from flu by supplying them with energy when they didn’t feel like eating solid food.

Around 1938 the brand “Lucozade” was bought by Beecham and went nationwide becoming rebranded across the country as a trustful symbol of recovery.

During the early 90’s the Lucozade brand diversified and introduce Lucozade Sport along with a wider range of drinks that worked in balance with your natural body fluids. Lucozade sport was the first brand to launch a sports sponsorship deal with Football Premiership league and British athletics sports stars including Jonny Wilkinson.

Unique Selling Point

The unique selling point of Lucozade Sport is mainly the bottle it comes in as well as the fact that it gives the customers energy and recovering from sports and day to day activities. The drink can be used before/during/after

Overview of Lucozade Sport previous advertising campaigns

All previous ‘Lucozade sport’ advertisement included at least one character and the characters increased activeness and motivation. These come in many different situations in their many different adverts and their goals in each one of them was to keep it unique and smart but to still attract the audience into buying their product.

Target Audience

The basic target audience for Lucozade Sport are teenagers & young adults that participate in activities such as sports and fitness. The approximate age range is 16-24. Lucozade Sport contains a lot of carbohydrates and sodium that helps the body to stay active for long period of time. This product enables the people of this age group and over if interested to gain more energy than before drinking it.

Lucozade Sport Advert Story

The story shows a basketball player training and preparing for a game in a gym. In this advert, you see the main character jogging around the gym, doing push ups, star jumps and attempting to shoot the ball into the hoop. Over these scenes is a motivational voice over.
