Conservatoire de musique To enter the conservatory you have to win a contest. At the end of studies you can get a degree.

SPORTS

Badminton, athletics, basketball, volleyball, handball, judo, football, table tennis, dancing,

gymnastics, hockey, soft ball, cycling, circus activities.

SIGHTS The Brod Fortress Austrians built the large imperial and royal border – Fortress of Brod on the Sava River.

SHOPPING

There are two shopping malls in Slavonski Brod - Supernova and City Colosseum. There is one level in Supernova and two in City Colosseum.

SIGHTS The Castle The castle was built in 1682. It is also famous for its beautiful garden and world-known Hall of Mirrors.

SHOPPING If you wish to do some shopping this is where you should go - Rue de la Paroisse and Shopping mall: Parly 2. The street of the “Paroisse“ is a shopping street with many shops. Parly is the first shopping center in France. There are 3 levels in it.

ACTIVITIES

Poloj It is famous for its sandy beach on the river Sava. There are lots of parties during the summer there, as well as some concerts and festivals which are also organized. During the summer this is where our inhabitants find refreshment of all kinds.

STUDENTS WORKING IN THE CROATIAN TEAM: Dominik is good at playing valley-ball and is very communicative. Filip’s hobby is playing computer games. He is a very good friend and a very communicative person. Klara trains karate. She loves listening to opera and her favourite drink is tea. Katarina is friendly and kind and is also very outgoing. Lorena likes going out with friends and her hobby is dancing. Ivana is into fashion and music. She is open-minded and outgoing. Dora is always smiling and relaxed. She likes music and going out with friends. Martina is always helpful and optimistic. She likes reading books and wearing colourful clothes. Patricija is friendly, warm and ambitious. She likes hanging out with friends. Domagoj is a faithful fan of Chelsea FC. You can always count on him and his help. He also likes to play pool. Miriam likes to sing and laugh with her friends. She also enjoys going out at weekends and have a party. Mihovil likes football and he is a fan of a Croatian football club named Hajduk Split. He always stands for justice. He likes to eat muffins.

STUDENTS WORKING IN THE FRENCH TEAM: Rachelle is 16 and hopes to become an international trader and to work and travel all around the world. Hipolyte is 15 and would like to become a manager in a sports shop and to develop many stores. Amélie is 16 and likes listening to music. She has Thai roots. Emma is 16 and likes shopping, dancing, hanging out with friends and she likes Italian food. Vincent is 16 and is passionate about sport, especially American football. Olivia is 15 and likes shopping and going out. Lea is 15 and likes travelling and hanging out with her friends. She would like to work in Customers relations. Mathis is 15 and would like to be a DJ. Marie is 16 and likes dancing Hip-hop and learning foreign languages. Camille is 15 and would like to be a stewardess because she likes travelling. Matthieu is 16 and likes golf, video games and music. He would like to open his own golf shop. Louis is 16 and likes music, sport and video games. He would like to be a video game designer.

CROATIAN STUDENTS’ IMPRESSIONS ABOUT THE PROJECT:

It was nice when we read some work from students from other schools and when we shared experience with people of our age. The most beautiful place for me is Marie Antoinette's estate because it is surrounded with beautiful nature and lake. It seems a great place to spend some free time, and enjoy in the nature. The best thing about this project is that it is an interesting way to learn something about other countries and their habits. In my opinion, this project was a great idea, we did not have much to do, it did not take us much time and it was very interesting. I am very glad that I have participated in it. I would be happy to participate in another project between us. I like this project because we met some new people and their surroundings. Also, it was very nice to learn something about their town. Project which we made was very interesting. In Versailles I really like The Hall of Mirrors in the palace of Versailles and The National Fine Arts Academy that impressed me with high-level creations. I think that the main aim of this project is to motivate us, students, to learn English, and it is nice project because we learn English in creative way. One of the activities, which I think was the most interesting, was when we were introducing cities to each other. We learned teamwork. About this project I like the fact that I met new people from another country who showed me Versailles and got the chance to introduce my own city to someone new and practise my communication skills. Also, in this project I like distance connection between students and things that we can learn. The nicest thing about this project was the opportunity to see how others in Europe live, what they do in their spare time, what kind of things they are interested in and so. I am happy I got the opportunity to participate and to see the cultures and lifestyles of my peers in Versailles. Firstly, participation in a project was nice. Also, it was nice to meet new people, to find out something about them, their city, but it was nice to learn something more about our own city. It was nice when we shared our photos and when we read about (other persons and) what other persons like to do in spare time... I only regret for the time we had. It was too short. I wish that this project had lasted longer.

FRENCH STUDENTS’ IMPRESSIONS ABOUT THE PROJECT:

I enjoyed the project because it’s a great idea.

We find interesting to discover Croatia and its culture.

I liked to discover historic monuments. I like everything, I disliked nothing. It was very interesting.

I regret not to know more about Croatia.

It’s very interesting to know the cultural differences between France and another European Country.

I like to share our knowledge with foreigners.

It’s a very interesting project to improve my English

I find interesting to share the cultures and discover other country.

I love speaking with foreign people and I dislike waiting for answers. I regret not seeing them because I would like to meet them. What about a journey in

Croatia?

I would like to make a chat with webcam together.

This is the first time I worked like this. It’s good because we worked in groups we could help each other. I like this project, I learnt something new about Europe, it was not a too long project.
