Principal’s Message
In a blink of an eye, June has snuck up on us! May was jam-packed with fantastic
activities, and June looks to be the same. As is natural for this time of year, we
look back at many events that have taken place in the last ten months. Our stu-
dents have literally grown right before our eyes, gaining wisdom, humor and com-
passion along the way.
To our grade 6 students, we would like to wish you a very fond and heartfelt fare-
well. These students have developed into leaders and we have great hopes for you
as you continue your journey into junior high next year.
The end of the school year will see us saying farewell to Miss Witten (Mrs. Dyck).
Thank-you for your dedication to our students! I want to thank all of our parents
for doing so much for our students and staff; we’ve had a terrific year, and you
were a huge part of our success. I also want to thank the staff; this staff is fan-
tastic, and I am very proud of them for the great things they do for children.
A summer letter will arrive a few days before school commences from your
child's teacher. If they haven't received their letter by August 25th, leave a
message on the school's answering machine and a new copy will be mailed out. As
you're preparing for the return of school, check out School Start. This is an op-
portunity to buy prepackaged school supplies that are delivered to Leduc Estates
School. Supplies will be labelled and ready to go! Check out the link…
www.schoolstart.ca/school/1797
Order early to ensure the arrival of your package on time!
I hope you have a great summer - full of family and fun!

This year we had 72 students in
grades 3-6 participate in the BGRS
District Track Meet at Riverview
School in Devon. I would like to
thank all of our students for being
such great ambassadors and to Ms.
Galenza, Mr. Schnell, Mr. Hendrick-
son & Ms. Hubenig for coaching
this year’s team. Many thanks to
the parents who helped supervise
the day.
ECS Meet and Greet & Parent Meeting
For those students registered for the 2015-2016
school year, there will be an opportunity for par-
ents to bring their child to Leduc Estates for an
informal ‘Meet and Greet’ on Thursday, June 25th
from 9 30 AM until 10:30 AM. This is not a struc-
tured program, simply an opportunity for your
child to see the school and the kindergarten class-
room.
Dear Parents/Guardians:
Your teachers at Leduc Estates School are excited to offer you the opportunity to purchase your school sup-
plies through School Start for the 2015/2016 school year. This process will save you both time and money.
This order form has a Starter Package (base package) as well as Additional Items. The Additional Items are
mandatory by each teacher; they include items such as pencil cases, sharpeners, and calculators. These products
do not need to be purchased on a year to year basis if you already have them.
You can place your order online at www.schoolstart.ca/school/1797 . Visa, Mastercard, and PayPal are accepted.
The supplies will be packaged and delivered directly to the school in August before your child arrives, labeled
with his/her name on the School Start Package.
If you have any questions, please contact School Start
Ph: 1-800-580-1868 Fax: 1-800-580-1890
Rising Costs
Extra activities that occur at the school sometimes
put a strain on the family pocketbook. We want every-
one to participate but we do not want to burden any-
one beyond what he/she can handle. If you find it dif-
ficult to some up with the necessary added fees,
please contact Mrs. Fisher or Mr. Luchak (in confi-
dence). Special arrangements can be made so no one
has to be excluded.
2015—2016 Supply List
Supply lists will be included with June
report cards and can also be found on
the school website at:
les.blackgold.ca
then into the Parent tab>>Supply Lists
A Note of Thanks On behalf of the students and staff, we wish to thank our LES School Council/Parent Association
executive, under the capable direction of Mrs. Becky Ellis & Mrs. Brenda Farry for all of their ef-
forts this year.
We want to extend a big THANK YOU to our hot lunch team. A special thank you to Mrs. Farry for
coordinating our hot lunch program. We couldn’t do it without you!
A big thank you goes out to Mrs. Taylor for taking our milk cartons in for refund all year. We really
appreciate your efforts.
In the course of a year, we have many people who ‘go the extra mile’ to help us out. As a school, our
success is due in large part to this ongoing help. We would like to thank our lice patrol, our
fieldtrip helpers, our microwave parents and any other people we have missed. Thank you so much
for being part of our school and making it the best place it can be for our students.
A big thank you to Mr. Remi Handfield for donating all of the chips for our hot lunch program again
this year. We appreciate your ongoing support.
I want to thank the entire LES staff for their ongoing commitment to our students through their
participation in extra curricular activities.
A big thank you to Cora’s Restaurant for providing 3 students a free lunch each month. This has
given us the opportunity to acknowledge students for various reasons.

Hot Lunch 2015 - 2016
Our PA has had a successful year operating the Hot Lunch Program. The online system seems to be
working very well. At the meeting on June 3th, the Parent Association approved the cost associated with
operating the online ordering system for the 2015-2016 school year.
Planning for the 2015-2016 school year will commence shortly as it takes time to build the menus and
input the system with our class information. For those parents familiar with the system, you can regis-
ter your child in September as soon as you know whose class your child is in.
A big thank you to Mrs. Farry and her incredible hot lunch team. Our kids have appreciated
the lunches.
Summer Fun Day
Summer Fun Day is set for Tuesday, June 23rd. There will be a variety of fun, outdoor activities for
the students to participate in. Please remember to send your child dressed to be outside all day.
The Summer Fun Day Hotdog Lunch order form have been sent home with every student. Proceeds
from this lunch will be used to offset the costs of the fun day.
In case of inclement weather, Summer Fun Day will be cancelled. The hot dog lunch will proceed regard-
less of the weather.
Students have been working diligently to complete units
and related assignments. Students in grade six begin to

write these tests and student attendance and punctuality
are critical on the days of these tests. Parents of stu-

tion and unfortunately we cannot deviate from these.
