1997 Idea for setting up a visitor centre was discussed in a Jurva local authority development seminar promotion centre idea
1997 preliminary study about a centre that would serve the local furniture industry was arranged by Jurva municipality LEADER PROJECT STARTS THE PROCESS
1998 ”Jurvan Nikkarikeskus” project by the Jurva municipality and interested companies promotion + company services centre plan
1999 Jurva gets Polytechnic adding furniture industry R&D activities to “Ostrobothnian Nikkarikeskus” functions promotion + company service + research centre business plan
15.11.1999 PHKK Oy Ostrobothnian Furniture Industry Development Centre Company was founded,
22.11.2004 Nikkarikeskus opening ceremonies promotion + company services + research + development centre

• 2002 Professorship (prof. Martti Lindman) in concept management for the furniture industry is established
